    PET actually authorized a couple of his loyal Librano friends to do a bio on the early years of himself, prior to 1944. He provided them with documents he saved from the period, writings by himself providing a glimpse into what kinds of thoughts and beliefs actually used to go on in his head. Not only did he admire Castro while PM, but as a youth, he admired the likes of Hitler, Mussolini et al and was also a Quebec separatist…
    Makes me wonder if the socialist excesses he commited while in power were actually an overcorrection out of sheer guilt weighing on his conscience?

  10. Me No Dhimmi, I simply meant that PET may have realized the stupidity of supporting the likes of Hitler and Mussolini.
    Perhaps he was so ashamed of his past that he actually went too far in some things (being extra nice to some selected groups of folks at the expense of others, violating the concept of justness) to try to prove he wasn’t some evil bastard, just to himself.
    Well, one has to think about it… maybe he thought he was doing the opposite of that which he supported in his youth and went as far as he could get away with…
    But he may have been wrong sometimes. It’s up to the beholder to decide. Food for thought, I mean.

    The man was imperfect; despite the idolization, he may have mistakenly done at least as much harm as good, if not more. Perhaps he didn’t think all that clearly.
    He was no Stephen Harper. Harper knows himself and has no need to compensate for anything. He’s much more focussed on what needs to be done than was PET, in my opinion.

I was only asking for a clarification of your point which I have difficulty following. In fact, I believe he made Canada as communistic as he could within the political infrastructure we have. In addition to the Castro pallbearer episode, you probably know he took his sons to Siberia to show them the “way of the future”. I consider ALL his policies disasters. ALL. Official bilingualism (effectively francophone control of the federal bureaucracy), multiculturalism, wage and price controls, the NEP. His alleged magnum opus the Charter of Rights and Freedoms in silent on the very wellspring of all rights: property rights.

He disliked the ‘teeming masses’ (us) and was very impatient to put us all in harness – working for the state and the state’s rulers (him and his rat pack) twenty four hour a day. He could not tolerate, in his mind, the ‘pathetic strivings’ of the average man/woman to own their own land, raise a family, and live as a free individual; with access to good schools, automobiles, travel etc.
    He (trudeau) tried his best to keep his natural aversion to people under control – until, ultimatly, he could have complete power over the lives of all the citizens – via Economic santions against those who spoke and acted against him and his fellow elitists (mo Strong Demerais, Castro, Mao Tse Tung, Stalin, Hitler, Rosenburgs…).
    The Cretian was ‘trudeau’s creature’ he was groomed for the job by Trudeau, himself.
    It made no difference to Trudeau if it was red and white Marxism or black and red Facism; as long as the ‘filthy masses’ were not running the show. He showed the people in Salmon Arm his true colors when he dropped in to wave from the train and was greeted by a group of loud, vocal, angry farmers instead of groveling kow towers grinning in wonderment and adoration for such a ‘clever, ‘sexy’ ‘new’, modern, defiant Dear Leader. He gave us the finger and ordered the train not to stop. He showed us who was boss!! I had gone to the station to see the Centenial Train – not turdo- and I was furious.
    We are very lucky Cretian was too much of a born thug to be as slimy as Trudeau. If paule and the cretian had not been IQ challanged, we would not be able to vote for a Man like Stephen Harper, we would be voting for the one name on a one name ballot. We would all be living in bee hive cells aka ‘Habitates for Humanity’ and the whole country outside cities would be a spanky clean park for the elitists to enjoy without ever encountering a ‘filthy human’.
    The anti smoking legislation was/is one of the major steps to FORCING people to keep their ‘natural filth’ under control. Drinking beer is next…Clean out those cesspools where people talk and laugh and insult the ‘land’ and the elitists with our ‘filth’. Stalin forbade smoking, Stalin encouraged smoking. Hitler wanted control, Stalin had control and he liked to deprive prisoners of the only freedom ‘good citizens’ had – smoking. It is control these freaks want and the means they use to get it is not important – as long as they get what they lust for – Complete control.
    It is the duty of all free people to keep freaks like them out of government, schools, etc. Fight like a banashie when someone says ‘it is for your own good that the AUTORITIES have made this or that ‘new’ control rule. Throw the freaks into hissy fits by refusing to obay – in mass.
    The people who voted in a rational, truly ‘for the people’ un-nanny government in Canada’s last election gave the elitists a good slap in the face; well deserved and ‘for their own good’. Don’t ever let them ‘rule’ again.

  15. Jema54: I think you’ve pretty much got PET’s number. What amazes me is how many Canadians were completely duped for so long. Here’s a rich guy robbing us “teaming masses” blind, robbing those of us with British ancestors of our heritage, making sure that Francophonie would control the federal bureaucracy (I know: I lived and worked in Ottawa for the federal government in the ’70s and took nine months of French language training, which I never used once back on the job), talking about keeping the government out of the bedrooms of the nation as he climbed in every bedroom window, etc., etc.
    He was like a cat thief, stealthily robbing us of our jewels, but with silk gloves on and a “charming” (sic) smile, which just looked simpering to me. How anyone could have found him attractive is totally beyond me, but Canada was awash in Trudeaumania for years. How could we have been fooled for so long?
    The PC thing was getting big back in the ’70s, and I remember people trying to bully me into their point of view about him back then. After awhile, I just kept my opinions to myself, because you’d be the only one in a room of 25 who couldn’t stand him and you’d become an object of derision if you voiced your distrust and dislike of him. I’m talking federal bureaucracy Ottawa, university intellectuals, the arts/National Arts Centre crowd, hippies, folkies, and back-to-the-landers. Another life ago…
    He treated his wife badly, he was an AC/DC philanderer (and quite probably drove Margaret crazier than she already was), he was a dilettante, he was a total bull_______, but most Canadians were duped. He ruined our country with the so-called Charter of Rights and Freedoms, because it left out the idea of personal responsibility, and look where that’s got us: There is a sizeable segment of the population, a critical mass, which is content to be cared for from cradle to grave by the Nanny State, and feel entitled to every benefit going without having to contribute one nano-second of elbow grease to get them. I agree that Cretin is a complete thug and, like Martin, was Trudeau’s puppet. The long reach of Trudeau, even from the grave. (I’m crossing myself.)
    That so many turned out to honour him as the train with his coffin passed by almost made me despair. Though I could feel human sympathy for his children and his two widows (one he never marrried but had a child with: Did I mention what a great role model he was for our young people?) I felt only a withering revulsion for the man the whole nation was mourning. And I realized just how far we have to go to climb out of the big black hole bequeathed to Canadians by Trudeau and “his bagmen at an unholy wake” (as my dad once described the Librano$). The climb out has begun with Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his CPC government, but it’s a steep pitch and there are many at the rim who will try to push us back in.
    We’re in pretty dire straits. The first step on the road to recovery is to at least acknowledge how deep the rot goes and how sick our nation is: politically, physically, spiritually, intellectually. We’re fortunate to now have a leader who’s in touch with the reality of Canada’s winter of discontent (nod to John Steinbeck).
    The Prague Spring? The Canada Spring? Let’s hope and pray that it happens.

    Boy what dupes we Canadians have been. What’s our problem? Too big a country; population too spread out; too little thinking, and too much brainwashing; too much trust in government; too much left-lib-fem-gay slant to the MSM???
    Whatever it is, I’ve been swimming upstream and alone for a long, long time. It’s nice to finally find a few other fish not Hell-bent for leather to swim into the great big wishy-washy ocean to be lost forever…

  19. And on and on it goes: In the name of “Employment Equity” (sic), the Toronto District School Board’s (TDSB) just asked its employees to complete a most intrusive census. (More below)
    Before PET’s Charter of Rights (sic) and Freedoms (sic), Canadians had more rights and more freedoms: Since 1982, the Charter (of Fights and Fiefdoms) has been used, to control Canadians, first of all, by grouping us according to “victim” status. Has anyone noticed that Canadians who play the victim card seem to have more rights than the rest of us? The Charter has also been extensively used by the Machiavellian Human Rights (sic) Commissions and Canadian Courts to extend victims’ rights at the expense of those of the rest of us.
    New Kid’s altogether right about the isolation of those of us who’ve questioned this totalitarian bent of Canada’s ruling elites. The blogosphere’s a godsend. Let’s hope that it and our new government will be successful in waking Canadians up.
    Back to the TDSB Workforce Census, just one of Trudeau’s many tentacles reaching far into the future with long term, deleterious effects: All kinds of bells going off here. Of course, the census won’t be used to enforce quotas: tell me another. The questions: “Do you identify yourself as: 1. Male? Female? 2. an Aboriginal person? 3. a visible minority? 4. With which one of the following groups do you identify yourself? [16 categories, including “Other” were given: none included the words French or British. I guess “White- Canadian” would include both.] 5. Do you identify yourself as a person with a disability? Yes/No. If Yes, please identify: [6 categories were provided, including “Other”.] 6. Do you identify yourself as: Bisexual? Gay? Heterosexual? Lesbian? Transgender? Transsexual? Two-Spirited {Aboriginal term]?”
    Employees were asked to provide their employee number. Completing the census was voluntary and I know a number of teachers who left it blank, except for their employee number. A little scary? Big Brother–more like Sister in public education–watching?
    The numbers will most definitely be used to further manipulate the composition of the workforce and curriculum content and resources. E.g., Although a traditionalist would never be allowed into a school to talk about the stability of heterosexual marriage for all concerned, homosexual propagandists are regularly welcomed into schools to present their lifestyles as normal and their victimhood as needing state intervention both on their behalf and against “bigots”. Of course, in “Big Sister Land” this is considered “equity”.
    Does anyone think that the data will be used to balance the numbers of males vs females teaching in the Elemenatry panel? (Far fewer than 50% of elementary school teachers are male: Most self-respecting men recoil at the thought of working for a feminist cabal.) Although the data will most certainly be used to hire more minorities, you can bet there won’t be a freeze on hiring women until the numbers are even. As always, “equity” is lopsided and whatever the elites decide it’s going to be.
    Somewhere, surveying the present-day, state-controlled Canada he masterminded, PET’s still smirking.
