Fill In The Blank

“This volatile and dangerous source of energy” is no answer to the country’s energy needs, shouted a Greenpeace fact sheet decrying the “threat” posed by the Limerick reactors Bush visited.
But a factoid or two later, the Greenpeace authors were stumped while searching for the ideal menacing metaphor.

  1. More people have died in Ted Kennedy’s car than in US Nuclear Generating accidents. I believe that to be true. Go to Greenspirit.com a very good website by Patrick Moore. He was one of the original Greenpeace founders way back in the 70s. He withdrew from that organization in the 80s when it became infiltrated with doomsayer/activist/wrecker types. The fall of Communism/Berlin Wall produced a steady supply. Since the 90s Moore has a very sucessful/reasonable/walks the walk organization, Greenspirit.com Read his articles on Nuclear Power.

  2. “Whoops,” indeed. “Armageddonist factoid?” Ouch. Obvious irony aside, the mind races.
Now, be nice, this doesn’t merely happen on the Left, and wherever it happens, it’s good for a laugh.
I know of an individual (let’s leave politics aside) who was, to put it mildly, unsuited for leadership in a major organization. His speeches were always prepared for him. On one memorable occasion, after a few paragraphs, he dutifully read the following statement, which had been placed in the text in parentheses:
    “Pause for applause.”
    Ouch again. 🙂

  3. Greenpeace. I HATE those folks. Bloody liars, spouting absolute bulls**t every chance they get.
And here we go again, MORE doomsaying on Nuclear power. Nevermind that properly run facilities are damn near Absolutely safe, produce insane amounts of electricity, and produce byproducts the technology exists to safely dispose of.
Of course, Greenpeace would rather we burned coal or dammed rivers for our electricity.

  4. Greenpeace has become a farcical representation of any good intentioned purpose it ever had. Is it no wonder that the founder of Greenpeace is no longer a part of it and has tried as much as possible to distance himself from the organization?

  5. Very funny.
“More people have died in Ted Kennedy’s car than in US Nuclear Generating accidents.” is very funny too.
“Of course, Greenpeace would rather we burned coal or dammed rivers for our electricity.”
No, actually they would like us all to drive early 70’s era VW buses that pollute (literally) 1000 times more than new vehicles and burn white gas in Coleman lanterns while we hone our hacky sack skills and find new places to pierce ourselves. Clueless gits.

  6. Sorry, ALbertan Technophile but Greenpeace would rather you “live off grid” than any thing else.
Ahhh, life in a cave would be so pure 😉
    Cheers
