Hugh tore him a new one AND exposed a weasel at the same time! That Joel Stein is a typical modern day journalist/leftie/pussy and in the words of Kris Kristofferson, “A walking contraditction, party truth, partly fiction”. I think the little sissy should step a few days with Michael Yon before he opens his mouth regarding U.S. military actions/foreign policy.
Oh, if we only had many such media personalities in Canada.. wouldn’t the last 18 months have been much different.
OT. Newsworld was just interviewing the rep for the Canadian Border Guards, that ‘cut and run’ when news of armed and dangerous felons were heading for the Canadian Border… they booked off at a number of crossings, leaving only a few supervisory personel to face this danger. An American Sheriff, risked his life taking these guys out just short of the border. The Union rep said that if those guards had been armed, things would have been different.. (right, sure.. like we want to arm these guys) he was asked if the option in the union agreement would be struck ‘which allows members not to work, if their lives are in danger, or something’.. he was evasive.. methinks this whole security, border, and military issue could use a good look by our new government, and perhaps the union could be elimnated from Border Guard service, and a more military presence used.. or the reserves, or an off shoot of the RCMP.. time to get a bit more serious about it, and use properly equipped and trained people.

A good interview is a lot like a good interrogation. When you ask a question; asking questions keeps you in control of the dialog; you should have a follow up question in mind. Hugh did this in spades. You should also have a game plan going in. In this case it was easy. Stein is a light weight; living in his cozy little bubble; and probably never expected to get called on his s**t. And, since “its all about feelings”, had no intellectual underpinnings or hooks to hang his argument other than the fact that being a soldier is a laughable concept.
Hugh just systematically dismantled him; showing no mercy. Plan, train and attack with overwhelming force until there is no resistance. Hugh left him bleeding out on the ground watching the world go dark. Bravo Zulu, Hugh. Charley Tango Mike. (Continue The Mission)
Opposing the war in Iraq is one thing but being so completely ignorant and disrespectful of the military is quite another. Hugh did a very thorough job of exposing Stein’s ignorance.
It’s sad really. And this happens much more in Canada as we have a much smaller percentage of ex-service-members and/or veterans compared to the US. So the ingnorance of the general “civilian” population of the military is de facto accepted nowadays. So you have idiots like former MND McCallum reminiscing about Canadian troops “storming the beaches of Norway.” Or was it the former PM??

Stein didn’t display much logical basis for his argument, but Hewitt asking him who he knew in the military was completely irrelevant and appeals to the same kind of emotionalism and irrationality that posions most political debate.
True, he made his victim look like the fool that he surely is, but some of his questions were unfair. If Stein wasn’t such an idiot, he could easily have parried that line of questioning by asking how it was even remotely relevant.

I am ex-military and can stomach quite a bit, but that Satanic level of human degradation can cause problems for the viewer who is exposed to it for too long.
My first impulsive thought is that all those who dish out slow death to the bound helpless should be executed humanely by machine gun firing squads.
The first flogging shows the deepest satanic level of evil. The animal who administers the beating concentrates on the small of the back for the most malicious result possible.
There is nothing to be gained by stooping to the lowest possible level of degrading human behaviour.
So my first impulse to have all these agents of satan ..machine gunned. Leads to questions of how many would have to be exterminated? What counter effect results?
If they were executed, how many more killers would that create among the Suni population?
If it is true that every action of torture creates more actions of revenge, how many Shiites are resolved to deliver torture to Sunnis at the first opportunity?
I still think those who deliver this level of fatal torture should themselves get capital punishment.
Hopefully Shiites and Kurds can accept that as the duty of the state and not as an open license on all Sunnis.
Iraq is not about to improve much if Sunni citizens are found murdered in alleyways every morning for months and months to come.
