Another interesting thing to note about her is that she was parachuted into the riding again. She did not have to go through a nomination process to run for the Liberals in 2004 and I’m pretty sure she didn’t have to go through a nomination this time either.

What is happening in the new immigrant population which now represents half of Toronto… is that they have been bribed for years by the Liberals either through their community leaders who tell them how to vote … or they fear they will not be able to bring their extended families to Canada if there is a change of govt.
Both these situations dictate the Toronto 416 Liberal vote … and also threaten what is left of the Canadian social fabric of Toronto itself … and even now we see Toronto terribly ghettoized and divided along racial ethnic lines … and it’s devastating the city … causing massive White Flight from the core and even away from the suburbs to the exurbs and beyond … because families do not want their Canadian children in the same schools as all these tribal immigrants … and that is the vile bitter truth about Toronto now .. destroyed by the Quebec-Liberal cabal so that it always votes Liberal …. and will become an isolated island of third world losers in their Toronto enclaves …. and the Toronto we knew is dying .. believe it …. !!! >>

This is nonsense. There is no “white flight” at all – in fact, my bet is that there’s a massive influx of all types of people, given the incredible numbers of condos going up in parts of the city that are being revitalized.
There is no ghettoization going on either. Yes there is a Chinatown, Little Italy, Little Portugal, Little India, Greeks on the Danforth (although they’ve been on the decline there for years), but none of these are ghettos, as the people that define these areas live elsewhere in the GTA too.

As a Torntonian with a 416 phone I welcome the change. I’ve seen the city go through many melting pot scenarios. Albeit none have exhibited the type of violence we are experiencing now. The province last week injected a huge amount of money
to fight this growing problem and with good leadership we will see positive change.

That’s not quite true. I know enough people who have moved, are talking about moving, or refuse to live in certain areas or neighborhoods exactly because they consider them to be not so much ghettos but more as cultural or enthnic enclaves. The people who live in areas like Little Italy, Little Portugal, Little India in fact is quite diverse coming from many different cultures and races. However, then there are other pockets in Toronto, Scarborough Markham/Unionville, Brampton, & Mississauga where there’s very little cultural or ethnic diversity.
In fact there is one major condo developer in Unionville who pretty well knows which segment of the condo market will end up buying his condos & is therefore marketing & targeting buyers in China via his website. I don’t recall seeing a similiar website for these condos in Italy, Portugal, India or Greece.

My two tribes – Italians and Irish – did their bit to repopulate the city of Toronto. And in so doing, took their voting responsibilities seriously. At one time, they obeyed the parish priest and voted Liberal (God-given right to govern and all that b.s.). The best news though, is that their kids grew up and learned to think for themselves. What a miracle! And, their children also taught their own kids right from wrong, and that handouts were meant only for the cynical, while handups enabled one to turn around and help others also in need. When the grandchildren see their tribal elders forced to barricade themselves in their homes, threatened in parking lots by drive-by shootings, well, they become very angry at those who have allowed society to degenerate to such an extent. And when they see the same ‘tribes’ turn up on telly, asserting their right to take what they’re entitled to because it’s easier than slogging it out until they earn it, they know exactly who is to blame.
Yes, Alice Herle is running in my constituency, Regina – Qu’Appelle. Can’t wait til the Liberals come knocking on my door – mind you the blue sign on the front lawn may be a hint for them!
