  1. Tim Belford: Short Takes On Life
Tim Belford Tim Belford is host of Quebec A.M. — CBC Radio’s popular English- language morning show (91.7 FM, 6-9, Mon.-Fri). He also is said to know a thing or three about wine.

Politics: It’s about stuffing envelopes, eh?
The old adage that people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones has come back to me a lot lately.
It’s one of the reasons I’ve been pretty muted in my criticism of the parade of Liberal bagmen and ad types that have kept the Gomery Commission on the front pages.
    You see, I’ve been there.
That’s right. Much to my shame I have to confess I’ve been on the receiving end of the cash-stuffed liberal envelope.
I’ve been part of the sleeze. I wallowed in the mud with the best of them.
And before the Gomery Commission comes looking for me I’ve decided to sing like a bird, or at least like Jean Brault.
It was January of 1970. The Quebec Liberal Party was heading into a leadership vote.

  2. I invite all good Canadians to drop by my blog to bone up on Tory child care policy:

This is the first article in my series “Me Debunk A Canadian Myth”. We kill the Liberals and NDP on policy (and leadership); it is my honour and duty to combat the Liberal strategy of Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. Let’s show Canadians the truth: that the CPC is moderate, pragmatic, and has superior policies and leadership.

  3. Statistics: Decline of Canadian Forces since World War II–this chart from “Canadian Military History News” says it all. Note that military expenditure (% of GDP) was 2.2% in 1976, 2.1% in 1993, and 1.1% in 2003.

Also in 1966 the strength of the Canadian Forces was 107,467; in 2003, 57,863. In 1966 the population of Canada was about 20 million, in 2003 about 30 million. In other words with a population 50% larger than in 1966, the total size of the Forces in 2003 was 50% less. Or, put another way, the per capita strength is only 1/3 what it was.

  4. I like the tone of Anonalogue.Blogspot.com only about 4 or 5 doors up from here.
Are you tired of the recording scrap, now that we know the Libscammers didn’t say “No Grewal, Not now, it would tarnish our good reputation.”
Do you think the Libs are stalling for time?
Do you think it’s smart to allow Billion dollar commitments of our wealth to keep the NDP confidence vote onside….without house debate?
Help yourself to a letter to Gov. Gen. Clarkson at BendGovernment.blogspot.com
If the Governor General fails to dissolve parliament soon, and it is her sworn duty to do so at this stage, her undue delay may be seen as a secret complicity with the Liberal party, barely holding power with the use of trickery and delay.
73s TonyGuitar Don’t wait too long. You and I will not like it if inflation jumps and houses stop trading. Everything else grinds down too y’know.
