  12. I don’t understand the anger over Stronach. Westerners should be happy. It should show Harper that trying to create a national conservative party has been a waste of time, which anyone with a sense of history could’ve told him.

    A brief, ”affectionate” chat ensued and Stronach alluded to her ……. discomfort with Conservative Leader Stephen Harper..
    The next day ……. Stronach called. She confided she was ”at a crossroads” and considering all her options, including quitting politics. Peterson suggested there are many options here and one is to join the Liberals,”
    Stronach didn’t commit, but was clear that she was open to the idea.
    Peterson immediately called…, Martin’s chief of staff, who.. called the prime minister ….., to tell him Stronach might cross the floor.
    …….. Martin found the news intriguing and called Stronach ”a person of obvious quality.”

    Jane Taber, Ottawa Citizen, is now co-host/ess with Craig Oliver, on CTV’s Question Period, aired every Sunday. This past Sunday, Janie, among other things, said that this would be a “delicious week” on Parliament Hill.
    Give her some credit, Janie was correct, in more than one sense.
    To wit: The menu of the unholy meal which Payola laid on for Belinda at his “home’, paid for by the taxpayers of Canada is said to be part of her report in the Citizen today.
    “Let them eat cake” it was. Medallions, mousse dessert, fresh small cucumbers, two – 2 fine wines, & etc. Did Payola fax the menu in advance to Belinda for her approval? The wine sommelier’s name was Alfonso.The chef was Maurice Strong/Desmarais.
    You will find the menu on SDA later today. Make your reservations now. Call 1-ate/eat well.

  30. Has anyone or any party ever tried to analyze how it is that the liberal drivel has such a commanding hold on some people.
    It is as if they succumb to some mind numbing rays when Martin speaks and they “buy” what is being said at some gut level.
    I have talked to some who were openly very angry with the government’s corruption tell me the next day that they like Martin’s leadership style and that it was more believable, indicating that they support him.
    I am quite serious about being completely baffled by this mechanism. I have seen it too often.
    Stable, well educated folk who are appalled at the scandals, turning off their minds and apparently taking on the demeanor of a Hollywood fan club groupy.
    There needs to be some serious research done as to how this works, (and I am not kidding here). The libs appear to have mastered it and it works.
    I am voting conservative…but maybe we could learn a bit about how to be more effective without losing principles

  32. The liberals are realists. So are the canadian population. They realize the REAL danger of having a conservative minority backed by the seperatists.
    This danger outweighs allegations of corruption, that the conservatives don’t even want to wait to hear… that boggles my mind! Why wouldn’t they wait until they had NATIONAL support and some evidence. You should be as disgusted with your party as Belinda was.
    Besides, realist canadians don’t idealize about non corrupt politicians.. which rock did you just come up from under?
