Updating the curious discovery that charitable organizations (among others) have been making donations to the Liberal Party Of Canada, Vitor’s efforts have made it to the National Post (subscriber only, unfortunately).
Also mentioned in the article, is something discussed last week in my own comments section – the “circular funding arrangements from the government of Canada to Native and Metis organizations back to the Liberal Party of Canada”. Dust My Broom has been following that angle.

Been thinking about those…. are there any details on exactly what circumstances those donations were made? They all seem relatively small. I believe they were for tickets to Liberal fundraisers, and they were used by those charities’ lobbyists to hobnob with key Liberals.
I don’t see why someone would just write a cheque outright. You’d get more value for your $500 if it’s in the form of a ticket to some cabinet minister’s fundraiser.

I didn’t think I would, but I received a response to my letter from the MMF today. My letter was in reference to “circular giving” from the provincial and federal governments to the MMF and then contributions back. I called it perpetual dependancy….
