    1. L- I concur and also choose to shop where masks are not required. I prefer places where social distancing is possible and most people are polite about the new social distancing. I look for reasons not to go shopping,now.

      I’ve watched 3 long form interviews with infectious disease/pandemic scientist who’ve stated that it is the 1-2 meter distancing that is considered effective. The evidence for masks isn’t there to make using them mandatory. The MSM and gov’t. in-experts have created a panic-demic attitude among many.

      Seeing people wear masks outdoors, by themselves and in their car by themselves is, I think, evidence of a regression to superstition. People display magic totems for protection against something they fear but don’t understand(no accident there) and secondly, to avoid public censure by other Obsessive-Compulsives.

      Obsessive-Compulsives have a new status, one of setting trends in public fashion. This does not bode well.

      Historians will note that Corvid-19 was the most successful melded use of psychological and biological warfare in human history. If there was a Nobel Prize for War, the C.C.P. and Pres. Xi-Jinping would win in a heartbeat…err I mean in a sneeze.

      Who would have predicted that China’s Communist Party’s long game strategy to achieve hegemony, was simply to trick Western nations into sabotaging their own economies ?

      Note- Cult. Marxisms long march through Western Institutions has achieved it’s pinnacle by successfully infiltrating Western medical institutions.
      None… well, almost none, now even declare whether 2+2= 4 still holds, without looking for a nod of approval from the innumerate political officers, who are now, in effect, running Western nations.

        Here in Vancouver, I too am doing everything I can to undermine the mad mask mandates. Recently I was stopped entering Stong’s supermarket and was told that mask-wearing was store policy. I told my interlocutor that the sign on the door used the words “we encourage all customers” to use masks. I entered maskless and was the ONLY customer without one. Thankfully I encountered no Kens or Karens.

        1. Earlier today, I went to a store and conducted my business without a mask. Walking to and from that establishment, I could count off on one hand the number of bare-faced people I saw.

          There are times I feel like Kevin McCarthy’s character in the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

    An anecdote from a long time ago. I was a grad student at Queen’s from 1981-1985, when the McKenzie brothers were hitting their peak popularity. At the time the Kingston Whig-Standard was a Southam-owned paper, and was very left wing, with one Harvey Schachter writing all the editorials (he now writes a twice-a-week column for the left-wing Globe and Mail).

    Anyways he wrote an editorial condemning the two comics playing the McKenzie Brothers, calling the act “unCanadian”, for satirizing Canadians. I kid you not.

    1. I love satire but never did get the McKenzie bros. Couldn’t get past the base line stupidity the characters represented. I don’t suffer fools and to me that’s what the McKenzie’s were. I don’t know a Canadian that came close to either of the characters. That said I loved the show, just not that skit

      2. I saw the movie based on their characters Strange Brew when it was shown on TCM a year or so ago.

        Ouch! They took a 5-minute skit, expanded it to an hour and a half, and quickly ran out of ideas. Calling it dreadful would be giving it a compliment it doesn’t deserve.

        Awful. Avoid it like you would a Prinz Dummkopf throne speech.

  13. A friend posted a link on FB. It was taken down, and labeled as having been “fact checked”, and found false. I tried clicking on it (there was a “see anyway” link) but was not allowed to see the offending post. All I got was a note proclaiming that the image was false.
    It was a story from the Babylon Bee!!!! These authoritarian lefties cannot even recognize satire when it comes from one of the more well known satire sites on the net – loudly proclaiming itself as satire on the masthead!

    1. Our leftist leaders, supported by the mainstream media, like to lie to us that our Soviet-style, state-monopoly health care system is the best in the world. That is why Canadians will have to wait in line-ups outdoors for up to 5 hours for a Wuhan Flu test, and then another 2-3 days at a minimum for the result while that capitalist-crazed country to the south of us will have their citizens tested with results in 15 minutes.

      1. Co-worker’s lady went home ill yesterday, so he left as well.

        Went to a test and they would test her because she showed symptoms, but would not test him because he showed no symptoms. He will be eligible for testing if she is positive or he shows symptoms. He still must isolate. Could be more than a week before both tests cycle through.

        So what about his contact circle, shouldn’t they know soonest?

        Not worried myself, no contact with him or others of his circle.

        Same circumstance, I’d lie to get the test done. Not sure I’d trust it, but it would be done.
