    1. Agreed.

Kate, I hope you can make a habit of using this logo on your site….. at least until the CBLC (Canadian Liberal Broadcast Cabal) comes after SDA for copyright infringement.

  1. I know I’m speaking to the choir here, but there’s a great book that illustrates the underlying problem wonderfully. “All Corvettes Are Red” is the story about the gestation and almost still-birth of the 5th generation Corvette (C5). What you learn is how, at GM, Team Corvette is very much a Chevrolet deal. In order to be a mover and shaker at Team Corvette, one must be a dyed-in-the-wool Chevy guy. It’s not good enough to be hardcore GM. A brilliant designer who happens to be the premiere expert on Buick Grand Nationals is not team Corvette material. Got a thing for GTO’s? Nope. Not getting drafted. It’s similar to how Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians, Anglicans, and Catholics are all Christians, but only Catholics get to be Pope. Only those with a progressive/statist mindset will float upwards at the CBC. The anomalous presence of Rex Murphy is just that, an anomaly. The trend will always be towards liberal progressivism. All Corvettes Are Red helps to illustrate it.

    1. Great book but didn’t expect to see it referred to on this site nor did I think it would be an analogy for the CBC but I can understand your point. Have the book, met the author before his death and even got him and Dave Hill to autograph the book. I’m a Corvette guy as well as a conservative.

      1. Rob- It is a great read. I’m a pretty hard core gearhead, and my tastes run towards Mopars. That’s not to say there aren’t a lot of cool GM products I’ve loved and admired over the years. However, I’ve observed that many of GM’s worst corporate habits look a lot like how the Liberal party tends to treat Canadians. That’s what led me to observe how organizational dynamics have common trends. One is that the “true believers” in a successful organization will tend to rise in the ranks. If one looks at the CBC not as a news/journalism organization, but as an organization dedicated to spreading progressive orthodoxy on the public dime, it’s pretty damn successful. All Corvettes Are Red is a great case study in the theory that I call The Corvette Theory of Government.

        1. Mopars Rule
Although, I do have a soft spot for early 70s Trans Ams with the rock crusher 4 speed.

    2. Thanks for at least admitting Catholics are Christians. Only Catholic clergy (in reality, cardinals) get to be Pope. And Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians, Anglicans all left the Catholic Church on their own volition, or follow those who did. None of them want to be Pope of the Catholic Church.

  2. I’ve been interviewed by the CBC several times over the length of my career and each time their narrative twisted my story. Each time they only selected my words that fit their narrative. I friggin hate them, and I hate paying them.

    1. In the short time I did political stuff, I used to be interviewed by local newspapers. I used to wonder where they found the stuff because I sure as hell never said it.

  3. CBC: the best reporting $1.1 billion can buy.

Harper didn’t have the balls to do what should have been done.

    1. I’m glad to see someone else saying it. Harper’s biggest mistake was not selling off the CBC when he could have done it. He would have faced huge (media) opposition but when you’re “literally Hitler”, you might as well get to work!

  4. Before the rally at the stampede park this past summer for support of the oil business in all its aspects, a CBC guy with a camera came over and asked me what I think. Told him that I did not really wanna talk to the CBC ‘cause not listening of watching it, the guy told me that that’s OK his father did not like it either. It appeared after a few questions that he was basically setting up his equipment and I was just a tryout.
Then a guy from Mclean’s magazine came over for an interview.
This is what I told him among other things:
    https://www.macleans.ca/news/canada/the-rise-of-albertas-unapologetic-petro-patriots/
“The pride comes, of course, with dollops of defiance: as much of the world and Canada demand climate change solutions, the petro-patriots insist Canadian fossil fuels are already the world’s most responsibly produced and that the burden to act should shift elsewhere; some still deny there’s a human-caused problem at all. “Global warming is a made-up story,” Vit Jankovic, a retired pipeline technician, told Maclean’s at the rally. “I like to think of it as scientists playing their video games to see who can get more warming in.”

You can see me in the bottom picture in blue cap over the left shoulder of the guy with the sign.

  5. We need to fight this in our daily lives.
If someone tells you that they saw something on CBC just point and laugh at them like they just made a joke or said something incredibly stupid.
    Politics follows culture.
Ask them how anyone could be stupid enough to believe anything on CBC when it is so obvious that CBC is lying to them.
Ask them why they would fall for a manufactured media narrative.
Dismiss them as an intellectual lightweight for even suggesting that CBC is in any way credible.
If they want examples of CBC lying, give them a dozen or so.
They might start to fact check what they see on CBC before they repeat what they are told to think.

” I saw on CBC that blah blah blah.”
“Yeah, I saw that CBC is reporting that the moon is made of green cheese, so it must be true.”
Have a chuckle and walk away or change the subject.

    1. Stan. I am in Alberta, so the Corrupt Broadcasting Corporation has a DIRECT negative effect on my livelihood, or future prospects of ever being employed again, to earn a living. So I tend to be a little more salty when someone tells me “They saw it on the CBC”, and explain their error to them.

  6. I was rather amused by this astute observation from Jon Kay – “… nonsense because many at the public broadcaster are NDP supporters, too.”
LOL…oh, ok Jon, thanks for that. Phew!!!!

Reminded me of this exchange in a roundabout way.
Centurion: “The Visigoths are at the gate and threatening to sack Rome!!!!!!!”
    Emperor: “Well, not all Visigoths”

  7. And heres something you WONT EVER See on the CBC.
A List of PM DickSpanks “Accomplishments” over the past 4 Years.
Thanks to a great Canadian; Howie Mandell

-Your minister of finance engaged in insider trading – should be a 10-year sentence.
-You blew the Asia Pacific deal.
-You blew the helicopter deal with the Philippines.
-You blew the pipeline deal (he’s now trying to save himself from it).
-You blew the deal with China.
-You blew the deal with Europe.
-You invited “irregular” immigration and the taxpayer foots the enormous bill for it…While ignoring the plight of South African Farmers being hunted and killed en masse
-You alienated the United States – our largest trading partner. And Shat on a sitting Presidents Back
-At the G7 you pledged $400 million to Education around the world along with another $180 million to the Global Partnership for Education in Europe. None of it is going to fix our messed up school systems here at home. Meanwhile, education costs are skyrocketing for our youth making university a mountain too high for many to climb.
-You pledged $241 million to Family Planning around the world including a $20 million donation to the Bill and Hillary Clinton Foundation (because they have integrity!). This all happened while you told vets that they were asking too much.
-You pledged $2.65 billion to climate change at the Commonwealth Leaders Summit and now you’re trying to bully the provinces into new taxes to pay for this pledge.
-You pledged $300 million to the Rohingya Refugee crisis while we have a refugee crisis of our own flooding into Quebec that you won’t address.
-You pledged $125 million to Caribbean Reconstruction while our own infrastructure in cities is falling apart.
-You pledged $650 million to Sexual and Reproductive health in Haiti and around the globe wanting safer abortions for women while many women in our own country are left without a family doctor.
-You pledged $50 million to Palestine for flood relief when NB had some of the worst floodings in decades this past spring.
-You pledged $840 million to Syria for Humanitarian Assistance when half the native reserves in our country don’t have clean drinking water.
-You gave $10.5 million to a convicted…CONVICTED terrorist in a backroom deal that has lead to another $30.8 million paid out for three others who say they were wrongfully detained.
-You spent $4.5 billion on a 65-year-old pipeline, and now the courts have ruled it shut down. Now it’s back on (at a delay cost of $250 million) – a good investment for Canada you said? (And KM uses that money to build a pipeline in Texas)
-You pressured Jody Wilson Raybould repeatedly & INAPPROPRIATELY with several different high ranking officials to offer SNC Lavalin a DPA instead of prosecution for repeated & sustained corruption AFTER the former AG had determined they were ineligible for such a deal. You lied about the above having ever taken place.
    -You replaced Canada’s old F-18s with Australia’s old F-18s.
-Your bizarre love of all things Castro.
-You imposed tough regulations and taxes on oil from Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland but not oil from Saudi Arabia.
-Every new project has to undergo strict environmental assessments…except cement plants in Quebec.
-You said that a proposed pipeline must consider “the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors” (what does that even mean???)
-You think older Canadians should be replaced. How is -that moral?
-You chase foreign companies (and their investment capital) out of the country like they have the plague.
-You chased our WW1 soldiers out of our national anthem… lest we forget.
-You continuously use identity politics…then complain about identity politics.
-You forgot Alberta was a province.
-You called small business owners “tax cheats”.
-People voice concern over money spent on illegal immigration and you call them intolerant racists.
-We have an equalization program, but you give half of it to one province.
-You spent $8 million on a skating rink (vanity project) when Canada’s largest skating rink is 500 meters -away.
-You added tens of billions added to the national debt while lying to Canada’s face about it.
-You groped a woman and when caught – laughed about it (MacLean’s interview) and said she experienced it differently.
-You elbowed a female MP while dragging another MP by -the arm in a petulant huff.
    -You renamed Fishermen to “Fisher-folk”
    -Peoplekind? (international embarrassment)
-You got India to invest $250 million in Canada but we have to invest $750 million in India first.
-You compared returning ISIS terrorists to Italian immigrants and said they will be an extraordinarily powerful voice for Canada.
-You let terrorists keep their Canadian citizenship.
-You spent $212,234 on the artwork for the cover of the 2017 budget report.
-You think Canada is 100 years old instead of 150.
-You spent upwards to $348,000 on food and alcohol in five flights on our government’s plane. On your G20 trip to Argentina, you spent $103,000 on food and alcohol alone. How is that even possible?
-You gave Canadian taxpayers’ money to Hamas.
-You voice outrage over fake racist attacks and say nothing about real terrorist attacks.
-You took 10 vacations in a single year. Who does this??
-You spent a little over $1.5 million on the trip to India that did nothing but worsen ties. Plus paid over $17,000 to bring an Indian chef to India to cook Indian cuisine. And to top it off, invited a convicted attempted assassin to a diner and posed for pics with him.
-And you’re the only PM convicted of ethics violations. (multiple times in fact)
-You allegedly destroyed the career of one of Canada’s honest military leaders to cover up possible massive corruption in shipbuilding contracts.
-You invited Joshua Boyle, an alleged perpetrator of sexual assault and unlawful confinement for a photoshoot in the Office of the Prime Minister.
-You threaten to sue the leader of the opposition then chicken out when you realized that your alleged crimes will be exposed in court.
-You offer over $600 million dollars in subsidies to failing mainstream media outlets if they can prove to be trustworthy. You put a union who vows to destroy your opposition in charge of selecting these new “trusted” sources to receive funding. You could school the Russians in election interference.
-You pay off your friends to engage in election ads for you and get Elections Canada to pay for it.
$200 million to Loblaws for new refrigerators.
-You made public statements of deep admiration for Chinese communism.
-You wore preposterous, inappropriate costumes during a state visit to India, paid for by Canadians.

What moral, functioning Canadian human could possibly justify voting for you?

    1. “What moral, functioning Canadian human could possibly justify voting for you?”

The answer is none. But “functioning” Canadians are an increasingly rare commodity. As A fellow said a few days ago, on the National Post’s comment section:

“Canada’s problem is much deeper and much more serious than Mr. Trudeau, who is a mere symptom of what ails Canada. Blaming the Prince of Fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their Prince. The country can survive a Trudeau, who after all is merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools who made him their leader.”

      1. I’ve been convinced that I live in a confederacy of fools ever since it elected PET for the first time and kept returning him to office. I saw how enthusiastically my high school classmates adored him and wondered about their sanity.

        1. “When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him.”
          – Jonathon Swift

Or for a true dunce I suppose.

      2. There’s the rub… an ethnic fiefdum of fools electing the blackfaced prince of fools… Turdhole was right, Canada is a “Post Nation State” with no core identity.

    2. Such magnificence! We should be proud–nay, humbled and honoured–to have such a glorious leader. (Barf!)

    3. Do you actually think a CBC viewer is going to read all of that? At once?
I think that type of intellect picking who gets to rule over me is something I can’t seem to tolerate anymore.
Must be my age catching up to me, and the Trudope-imposed impoverishment.
      Thanks again Moronto.

    4. Too bad the public did not READ this before casting their vote for those crooked Lieberals.

      Thank you…….

      1. Ha! Do you think that would have made any difference? Actually, it would have as those who voted for him would then love him even more. Rebel News has a video of Liberals going into a Prinz Dummkopf rally and they simply shrugged off his blackfacing, groping, and general corruption.

I saw similar adoration and idolization of PET while I was in high school 50 years ago. Stupidity simply cannot be fixed.

  8. Tim Ball tells a story on his experience with CBC. After watching how they edited and twisted his first interview on his scientific view on Global Warming he decided the next time he would approach things differently. Without warning he showed up with a friend who was there to record the interview on his device. CBC refused to do the interview.

  9. The CBC is not media. It is an integral part of the institutional left that is taxpayer funded whose unwritten mission is to ensure the LPC is supported and defended while restricting itself to fellow leftist political partisans for content. It is also in business to explicitly smear and work to defeat conservatism while occasionally masquerading as media.

A moral government would sell it off as real estate and equipment in order to prevent further contamination in an already toxic market of private sector clones essentially in the same business.

    1. John. That is exactly the problem we face. We are RULED by an immoral government.
An immoral government IMPOSED on Alberta by our colonial masters to the east.
      FREE SASKABERTA NOW !!!!!!!

  10. “…It’s similar to how Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians, Anglicans, and Catholics are all Christians, but only Catholics get to be Pope. …”

That one is more like Ford employees, Chrysler employees, Nissan employees, BMW employees and GM employees all make cars, but only GM employees make Chevrolets.

  11. And yet with Trudeau that lamentable, a party with a full campaign budget and every access to the media managed to convince perhaps one out of twenty Canadians to change their minds and join them. I think all that hate Trudeau energy should be going to a more useful place, namely, fixing the CPC. There’s a rational reason why the PPC came into existence. The CPC was never doing their job properly. They were trying to water down conservative values and principles to make it more marketable to the mass media and their remaining followers. And that has not brought them very much success at all. From inside what I call the Blue Castle, the party looks very strong, I suppose, but across most of the country, it stands for basically nothing other than hey let’s slow down this globalist project a tiny bit.

My prediction is that if they don’t reform internally, the voter base will increasingly come to see what the first round of PPC voters saw, that a more direct approach is needed, and we will see the same process as 1993 brought to politics. I am not trying to destroy anything of value, it’s more like clearing away deadwood. The Trudeau problem will have a natural solution if people see that there is a much better alternative.

Some western conservatives need to learn that you won’t advance your own interests by insulting everyone who disagrees with you. If your position is sound people will see that and come to your side, but if they feel like your message is “do what we say and we don’t care about your issues at all,” then you’ll be tuned out because politics does not work like that, all politics is local.

    1. Geez, Peter. That sounds an awful lot like ” You noisy Albertans should sit down and shut up, if you know whats good for you. Just keep sending those cheques.” Sorry, but I have been hearing that same refrain for 30 plus years from back east. So excuse me if I fail to take your advice.

  12. Tonight at Blackie’s CBC Katie Simpson leads the political panel on a discussion that Scheer needs to be more like Justin and the Conservatives need to be more like the Liberals. They need to embrace global warming scams, abortion, and homosexual sex. Meanwhile the CTV political panel explains that Scheer needs to be more like Justin and the Conservatives more like the Liberals. Also Jason Kenney is evil and Alberta whines too much. And the Bloc is wonderful. Both networks have their studios in Toronto so they know what they are talking about.

  13. Blackie’s CBC is excited that Obama is coming to Canada on a speaking tour in November. No word on whether he will be helping Blackie pick his cabinet.
