Those damned kids and their coffee cups!

Yes, Toronto, the city that says if you cut spending then people will die, is now worried about the “epidemic” of Millennials with take out coffee cups.

Have they heard of Tim Hortons? Details here.

  1. Rather than tell Colle that he was having an “old man yells at cloud” moment, city staff actually said yes

Ha ha ha ha ha !! Except it’s NOT funny. Not when the citizens of Canada are electing these numbskulls.

BTW … THIS is how Cheryl Crow “cleans” herself with … just ONE … square of toilet paper. Perhaps Councilman Colle can create a “public education” campaign to spread the word (because clicking onto a YouTube video needs government guidance). However I suggest he demonstrate the technique on himself FIRST. Repeatedly.

  2. No data, but it would seem obvious that the total energy input required to make a single reusable mug would be 10 years or more of having a coffee a day from a single use paper cup. And if you include the energy and water needed to wash the mug – it’s probably a net increase in energy anyway

    1. Toronto voted in the rubber band man John Tory who has accomplished nothing since becoming Mayor. He acts more like a union boss than a mayor for the people. He is an absolute disgrace as Mayor

  3. Instead of focusing on civic management, public safety, roads, transportation, sanitation, water, sound fiscal policies, etc. — you know the boring stuff that makes cities and civilizations great– these twits invest time, effort, and debt in a seemingly infinite list of pet projects. Anything to pander to a niche voter or get a headline somewhere. If it includes a sound scolding of someone or some group so much the better.

I’m in Calgary and our “leaders” are no different. Nenshi and council have been traveling more lately than Trudeau. Half the city is wrapped in orange, people are outraged in the SW, but you might just see our dream-team wandering the halls of some TO or Ottawa or Quebec convention centre (with coffee cups in hand). Well at least my tax dollars are helping the tourism industry back East.

  4. Subways or coffee cups … subways or coffee cups … coffee cups it is then.

  5. Well, no one ever votes for cutting programs. So enjoy what always voting for more, more, more government does.

FYI, government never gives up any millimeter of the inches they take.
