    1. The Climatistas know nothing about infrastructure. Anyone needing convincing of that need only look at California’s recent generation/transmission/wildfire issues.

    2. Any idea who makes transformers or where? How dependent is the West on foreign subassemblies.
? In the event of widespread major damage to the grid who has priority to obtain replacement transformers?

      1. They used to be made by General Electric in Peterborough Ontario before Canada chose to deindustrialize.

        1. I don’t think Canada chose to deindustrialize. Deindustrialization was forced upon us, no one voted for it.

      2. A lot of transformer manufacturing has been offshored, mostly to Mexico. Ferranti-Packard, GE, Westinghouse all had large power transformer plants in Ontario but they were moved to Mexico back in the last millennium. I understand that Westinghouse eventually relocated a former Canadian plant from Mexico to the southern U.S.A.
Even with in country manufacturer the lead times for power transformers could be long. Today with supply chain issues, getting replacements could be devastating

      3. They know perfectly well; it’s part of the plan: Reduce electricity production and inrease its use. The result can only be catastrophic collapse.

    3. But how many transformers are needed?
How much does each cost to manufacture?
How much does each cost to install?
What are the labor constraints? Lineman don’t grow on trees.

The economic abyss of Greentardedness is a black hole. It’s not just light, but reason and common sense that can’t escape the event horizon.

      1. Buddy

Your comments are usually bang on.

        But this..??

“..The economic abyss of Greentardedness is a black hole. It’s not just light, but reason and common sense that can’t escape the event horizon…”

        Absolutely DESERVES an Award..!!

    1. WeRsoboned – I saw that on Messenger I think. Speaking of great political communication – search for “Justin Trudeau gets destroyed in climate debate” and you’ll see links to Polievre rolling over Justin. If you don’t have Facebook it may not work? I couldn’t find it on YouTube yet.

    2. That was quite a speech and the middle finger salute at the end was appropriate. An old friend once employed a similar tactic when he was annoyed with me He would hold up all his fingers except the middle one and say, “read between the lines”.

  1. Our most impressive piece of hometown hardware here in Cheyenne is Union Pacific’s Big Boy 4014, which was restored in time to travel to Ogden, Utah in 2019 for the 150th anniversary celebration of the completion of the US transcontinental railway.
Kudos to UP for all the investment that they make in keeping history alive. Some great stuff going on at 20:00 and thereafter.

    1. Thank God the Chynaman never got their hands on that beast to be turned into toasters.
      Impressive machine.

    2. The Epitome of Steam….

I do believe that their creation and at times catastrophic destruction due to faulty practises led directly/indirectly to the Creation of the ASME Code…PRV’s being a major point. Along with some significant advances in metallurgy as well.

Those two Engines are simply awesome..!!

  2. I remember that day and there was lots chinese people there. It was a while ago but I thought it odd. I was worried that train would replace my horse.

    1. I didn’t even have to click on that to know it was going to be LazerPig. He’s like The Critical Drinker, except with really obscure WWII military vehicle trivia.

      1. Yep, I love his style. He knows what he talking about, has a twisted sense of humor, finely tuned BS detector and is wonderfully obnoxious.

    1. When he accidently lets slip something, such as no more coal plants and no more drilling, believe him.
Why the public has not cottoned on I have no idea, maybe the sheep need more pain.
      Our OverLords need to swing.

      1. John, I jes’ luvs me sum little nuggets of truth that sneak past the narrative.

And, yes, the real 24k gold will be ignored by the ideologists in favour of alchemist lead.

“Biden insists there will be no more oil drilling”

Except that four days previously, President Houseplant also said…

“We haven’t slowed them down at all, they should be drilling more
      than they’re doing now
,’ Biden said. ‘If they were drilling more we’d
have more relief at the pump.'”

Don’t get me started on Keystone XL.

“The media and government officials are worried about seeing comments from government skeptics, election deniers, climate change deniers, or people in other countries with different social outlooks toward sex, gender, traditional marriage, religion or geopolitical worldviews that run counter to the interests of the United States government. This seems to be the foundation of the Intel Community claim about a national security threat created by the removal of moderators.”

    1. Ian…..this Comment from a reader of that article NAILS it.

“..IMHO, the root of the issue: Twitter would have never been successful if there weren’t willing participants. Twitter employees are what public education has produced the last several decades. (and Continues to do – stkman)

We draw back in horror at the idea of various groups being tasked with monitoring various topics of conversation, then censoring, banning, doxxing, taking money under the table, etc. But, these young people, mostly, have been brainwashed into believing their work was of high “integrity”, as I’ve read some fired employees have posted. They are “proud” of the “work” they have done.

They seem to not understand any of our documented Rights under the U.S. Constitution (God given), which means they don’t support our Rights, and would willingly throw them in the garbage for a paycheck. This is what it has come to….”

so…….? pretty much USEFUL Idiots no..?

    1. Pure untainted , Jonestown Juice free, blood, sperm and eggs will be worth their weight in gold soon.
Dont sell yourself short , get full value for them.
Btw, keep an equalizer with you or some type of protection, those that wont pay will be out hunting the vunerable to suck dry literally.
Babies blood , anyone, lets ask that Demon Hildabeast.

    2. This has been going on for years. While attending a conference in SanFrancisco in 1987 just as it was on the cusp of turning into a vagrant hole, a colleague and I walked passed a blood clinic at 8 am where the bums were lined up waiting to sell their blood. I commented to her, this was the last place on earth that I would want to receive a transfusion.

Of course, I was too smug to realize that Canadians were getting free HIV tainted blood courtesy of the Red Cross. We lost a family friend who received tainted blood following surgery .

So, no nothing new under the sun. One wonders how spike tainted blood will turn out in the future

  4. Often it’s the things you didn’t do that you regret the most. It was my Dad’s (born Oshawa ONT, 1910) dream to take the Canadian Pacific all the way across Canada and we didn’t get it done.

    1. Ex

That is sad….I can fully understand the regret.

Our Family came to Canada in 1957, we had no choice but take the Canadian all the way from Montreal to Vancouver….was March and one of my first ever memories as a 4-1/2 yr old, I’d never seen sooooo much snow …to me it was an awesome sight at the time.

I still have some of the memorabilia from that trip that my Dad kept all these yrs…

His Birthday today…. He woulda been 97.
      RIP Dad.

  5. Has anyone noticed the handle of the poster of this video on OyTube: “PrObamaAntiTeaParty”?

Is “Robert” a latent lefty? He sure seems to relish the book-burning of comments from what he deems a “fringe minority with unacceptable views” while he tolerates endless spam from a leftist loon that pours over Reddit long hours everyday.

Let’s see exactly how long my comment stays up.

    1. And was this a surprise to Trudeau? The Chinese have been closely connected to the Liberals for years. I am pretty sure Justin himself has benefited.

  6. Doug and the Slugs have been forced to back down. They never counted on an illegal strike by the education workers. This morning he has offered to rescind the bill if the strike ends.

The educational workers have mobilized the support of other unions and are planning an Ontario wide walkout for next Monday. This is serious business for the Ford government and Doug Ford himself.

He might have played his cards differently at the outset. Told both sides they had better come up with a negotiated settlement or he would invoke the NWC. The dummy went nuclear and now he finds the unions have called him. His hole card is the nine of hearts. Not a card your going to bet the farm on.

If he can’t find a way out of this there’s a good chance it’s over for him. He’s no Margaret Thatcher.

  7. “Doug and the Slugs”

Those boys produced some pretty good hits. Pick another name. How about Slug and the Slugs?
