CTV- Unvaccinated B.C. paramedics want to return to work amid staffing shortages

The staffing crisis has led to longer wait times for what is often a life-saving service. Back in August, an eight-month-old baby died in the Interior while waiting for an ambulance.

As BC Ambulance Service experiences one of its worst staffing shortages in recent history, unvaccinated paramedics say they want to get back to work.

But the Ambulance Paramedics of British Columbia – the union organization representing more than 4,400 paramedics and emergency dispatchers in the province – doesn’t believe that will solve its staffing problems.

  2. My brother in Law had a table saw accident recently … not. good. … and a colleague called 911 … in Orange Co. CA … and was told the ambulance would arrive in 30min. … just in time to pronounce him dead from blood loss. In the heart of Orange effing County!!! What the Holy Fkkkk!?? His colleague drove him to the ER … where thankfully … medical personnel were actually still working.

    Either C-19 staffing nonsense … or “work from home” Paramedics? … or the Paramedics were too busy taking care of illegal Aliens?

    Perhaps it’s time to start withholding taxes … until service is restored? Or should my brother in law just euthanize himself … because now he will be a “damaged” human?

    2. Because ambulance services are questionable (see the various occasions that ambulance crews refused to enter, because they were waiting for a police escort), it’s important to have a bleed kit on hand where circumstances warrant it, and of course the skills available to put it to use.

      The claim that the Police, Ambulance and Fire Department are “First responders” is a gross misnomer. The first responders are the people who are present at the incident.

          I would explain this to your Mrs. before I ensured there was a supply in a workshop area or washroom if your Mrs. wasn’t still a user of these items.

          2. I’ll disagree as both the pads and tampons remove blood from the wound site, and absorb it, preventing it from clotting. You want clotting to stop (or at least slow) the bleed. Hence Quikclot and other similar products

    1. This. My former union, BCGEU, had one job: to protect its workers. It didn’t even TRY to do that one job. Instead, it willingly marched in lockstep with gov’t to enforce the “vax” mandates.
      We had a conference call about it, and as soon as I heard BCGEU president Stephanie Smith introduce herself (along with her choice of bloody pronouns), I knew we were about to meet the underside of the bus. Sure enough, the GEU helped gov’t enforce those “mandates”, and to hell with anyone who disagreed.
      My employer, BCLiquorstores, who had previously praised its employees as “heros” “on the front lines”, now said I was in effect, an anti-vax scumbag who was considered unfit for work as of November 22 2021. I was lucky enough to be very close to retirement after 36 years, so my last day was Nov.20th 2021.
      I watched as employees who I considered “keeners” became overworked, unappreciated, burnt out, and just putting in their time. Caught between an uncaring employer and an uncaring union, they had nowhere to turn. Many felt they had no real choice but to take the jab.
      There’s a special place in Hell for those who not only failed to protect their people, but willingly coerced them into making a horrible choice. I’m out now, thank God, but I will never forgive, and never forget.

      2. The lawsuits are slowly being worked on, don’t worry about that. It’s highly organized, across many of the unionized groups that have been abused.
        One, fierce, knowledgeable lawyer, a former insider, and union boss, who was present in the actual government zoom call to ALL union leaders, calling for this Charter busting strategy, is leading the legal action.
        He’s not taking any prisoners, and he’s going after the unions too. There are ways and means, but the legal process is slow, and, is prone to corruption.
        I look forward to the day, that he calls Bonnie, Dix, and other cronies, on the stand, and make life hell for them, exposing their lies, incompetence, hypocrisy, and ignorance to the Charter Rights of Canadians.

    Whatever the numbers of excess dying among the jabbed we need to destroy the narrative and get moving towards the vindication and vengeance portion of the genocide can’t come fast enough some days. We’re only into month 18 or so. At some point, these jabs have to really kick in. I’ve heard after 2 years things get interesting.

    1. Yeah, I find it amusing that the left howls about a “woman’s right” in regard to reproductive rights but is completely silent on the potential damage these “vaccines” may cause. My daughter’s work place brought in a mandate (she stood her ground and is still working) and EVERY one of the women of child bearing age where she worked who was vaccinated had very heavy discharge. Now what does that do to the system? Who knows, but its weird that the left doesn’t give a damn.

  10. There’s been an ad this past week for “out of province” nurses at Sunnybrook Health Centre and they’re offering what appears to be a $25k signing bonus when you join their team.
    I’m guessing this is about $13k after taxes in Ontario, and I didn’t even bother to ask them if I need to be vaxed.

    Assuming they’ve already been through all the locals searching and not getting any already vaxed.

      For example, when Harper got rid of the long-gun registry, the Telecommunications Workers Union sent out an email to its membership condemning him, and stating that the legislation was “a sacred memorial to the victims of the Ecole Polytechnic massacre.”

    4. I was a member of a trade union (98% men at the time). Back in the day they were one of the most militant in the province, battling management and the provincial government. I won’t say I liked the union or union leaders but their obnixiousbess was needed to counterbalance the asinine people in management and government. Benefits and wages were good but less than identical jobs in Alberta.

      It was an odd situation where the union leaders were mostly NDP while the union members were heavily Conservative and Reform. Union meetings were filled with coarse arguments and counter arguments. Now the union leadership pretty much moves in lockstep with big government. They actively assisted and supported discrimination and segregation against unvaxxed union members. Lots of retirements, job vacancies and unhappy workers. The union lost a lot of trust and respect when they sold out their membership to big pharma.

      After Dias was caught taking kickbacks, rumors are rampant that many unions had “arrangements” with government and business to push vaccines.

    5. Private sector unions are very good at destroying the jobs of their members and are thankfully in decline. Public sector unions are in conflict of interest unless they can be prevented from voting as they seek to represent both sides of the negotiating table through political action, and they unfortunately, are growing like a weed. Unions in general are essentially organized crime and should, IMHO be confined to the limits of contract law rather than assisted or aggressed against by other labour laws. IOW, if a contract has expired and there is no evergreen clauses within, there is no compulsion to renew or negotiate and any acts of intimidation or threats of violence should not be tolerated under the law.

  14. It’s not just paramedics, that are short staffed. The entire BC health system is short staffed, thanks to that Nazi Bonnie, that has fired and suspended health care workers of all sorts.
    On a regular basis, ERs in rural areas of BC are now shutting down on weekends. Surgery waits longer than ever. GPs are in fewer numbers, and of course a massive nursing shortage.
    And let’s not forget, the only province in the country with jab mandates still in effect, that fired thousands of vital staff.

  19. In bc if you go to visit someone in the hospital you have to be double vaxed to get in. But if you go to the hospital for blood work or an x-ray or a follow up with the surgeon you don’t need to be double vaxed. How ludicrous. So when I go to visit,even though I’m vaxed I just say going to the “cast clinic” so they don’t care. Apparently you can’t get or receive covid there.

  20. Had Thanksgiving dinner with a duel citizen acquaintance of mine. He crossed the border back into Canada at the height of the pandemic. He couldn’t be refused entry but was told he had to quarantine.

    He got home and a couple of days went by when the rcmp pulled into the yard. They immediately started to interrogate him about his quarantine practices. He said he was living in the basement. Told them his wife was upstairs but he couldn’t be responsible for her behavior.

    They then questioned him about some fresh tire tracks in the snow. They were his daughters – going to work. They suggested maybe they were his.

    Is this police work? Is this what the rcmp are contacted to do?
