    1. I’m in the process of closing my TD account. Not that the other banks are any better, but TD was just a bit too eager to freeze accounts for my liking. Putting your funds in a credit union? They’re all subject to the same FINTRAC rules as the banks. One more small purchase to get my cash back on my TD VISA, and it’s gone too.

  10. Well everyone, we officially should have been at WAR with Russia over the mass casualties in Ukraine.
    All those US shipments of missiles and armaments sent to Ukraine, where did they go?
    Yes, you guess it in those regions of Ukraine that is now Independent States and into Russian hands.
    This is the second major military defeat of the Biden Administration with huge amounts of military equipment now in its enemies hands ready to blowback and blow up US and NATO forces.

    Hopefully our Canadian Senate and other countries force Trudeau out of office.
    Trudeau played his hand too soon hoping the timing of WAR was justified and his Emergency Powers Declaration as he made the Truckers Convoy a personal attack on him. His fleeing from office hurt his pride and ego.
    So the Truckers Convoy became a personal vendetta.

    Everyone knows Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is an empty vessel. He carries himself as a generally unintelligent fellow with a sub-par IQ and a childish demeanor that is often inappropriate. However, recently due to the increased attention upon Canada as they descend into lunatic leftism, the role of Trudeau as a puppet has become more evident.

    His Deputy Prime Minister, Chrystia Freeland, is well known to people here for her prior key role in the creation of the USMCA trade agreement, her busybody demeanor and her snarky ideological annoyances. However, Chrystia is also the person who puts the words in Justin’s mouth, literally.

    Watch a few seconds of this video from Trudeau’s statements about Ukraine yesterday and pay attention to the mannerisms of Freeland as the Canadian Prime Minister reads his prepared remarks. Watch her closely and what you will notice is that Freeland wrote the remarks. She is visibly saying them in her head while physically mirroring the exact cadence Trudeau uses as he delivers her script.

    2. Interesting idea Annie. I have been sending in paper returns all my life. About four years ago there’s have declared that Sudbury ON would be the sole place that handles paper returns. So for four years I have started sending my wife’s and my returns there. And I must say that the people thes are mentally retarded, or at least newly-arrived immigrants. They have made mistake after mistake, and have no idea how to handle pension income splitting.

      P.s., I have a PhD in public finance economics.

      1. It would certainly overwhelm CRA as they no longer have the manpower to handle paper returns. Not saying not to pay any taxes owed, just throw a little wrench into the system.
        Side note: I have been a professional bookkeeper for over 30 years. I still send T4s by mail to CRA and it takes them at least 6 months to process. So they would definitely be understaffed for paper returns.

    3. The CRA has made my life miserable by forcing me to go through all sorts of song-and-dance routines to determine just how much tax I’m supposed to pay.

      Specifically, there’s an extra form one has to prepare to determine the minimum tax one has to pay, even after one has properly claimed all the credits one is entitled to on one’s return. (One government munchkin told me that I wasn’t allowed to have “too good of a year”.) The blinkin’ thing is 8 pages long and less than half a page is relevant to my situation and that’s what I have to fill out. To get there, I have to wade through crapola such as eligibility for movie tax credits.

      Since the government has inflicted it upon me, I’ll force it to read through it all by sending as much paper as I can.

There is also no evidence that they prevent Covid transmission or infections, so mandates are pointless from a public health perspective. Courts should be putting a stop to this.
