      1. From the same site:
        Request for privacy

The Bourla family has requested privacy after the passing of Albert’s wife. A temporary media blackout has been approved by a judge. Conservative Beaver is based in Canada, and not subject to the judge’s ruling.

  1. Robert Urich? It’s not the first time he played a police officer. He was one of the motorcycle cops who tried to bump off Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood) in Magnum Force.

While on the subject of pilot episodes, here’s one from the late 1950s that never went anywhere, Destination Space:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVQaOmcgm-E

Keep in mind that it was made roughly 2 years before Gagarin went into space and before Kennedy committed the Americans to go to the moon. The space station and orbital spacecraft designs appear to have been influenced by what Wernher von Braun thought would be the way to go.

The show itself was reasonably realistic, with accurate jargon and, of course, the politics involved.

      1. I just finished watching Exo-Man:

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7cDY_CsezM

I’d never seen it before and I was curious to see what it was about. It was supposed to be the pilot for a TV series, but I can see why it wasn’t accepted as there didn’t seem to be enough potential in the concept.

One name familiar to many science fiction fans appears in the credits: Martin Caidin. This isn’t his first foray into television as it was his novel Cyborg which served as the basis for The Six Million Dollar Man.

        1. In the novel “Cyborg”, Col. Austin tried to kill himself the first time he woke up after the accident, he couldn’t run at 60mph, but could do 20mph for 8 hours, and he couldn’t see through the bionic eye, it was, rather, a micro-camera for taking photos.

          1. I remember that. It’s been a long time since I read the book. It spawned a series, but I remember that only two of them were written by Caidin himself.

    1. Along with Urich there’s another Clint Connection in this episode.
The sniper on the roof in the opening, shooting at Urich…Geoffrey Lewis, character actor who appeared in more than a few Eastwood movies in the 70’s and 80’s. Usually played the “Sleazy Weasel” in damn near everything. Daughter Juliette was in Cape Fear and Natural Born Killers.

    1. Col:

A number of scenes in that video are from ‘Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines’ just changed to B&W to appear authentic. Granted, some are actually noted to be from the movie, but still…

One of my favourite movies of all time BTW.

  2. Hondo! And TJ!

And the best theme music evah!

I was 10 at the time and me and my pals used to run through the neighborhood playing SWAT.

    1. The other day, there was a brief discussion of actor Dana Andrews. Steve Forrest, who played Hondo, was his brother.

    2. “ It remains one of a handful of TV themes to top the Billboard Hot 100, a list that includes “Welcome Back” by John Sebastian, “Miami Vice Theme” by Jan Hammer and “How Do You Talk to an Angel” by The Heights.”

  3. I just took a rapid Covid test in a parking lot in small town Saskatchewan, given to me by a nurse friend since it’s impossible to find a rapid test for sale anywhere in rural Saskatchewan.

While we chatted in her car as we waited for my results, she informed me that for those medical professionals like her who choose not to get vaccinated and instead get rapid tested every 72 hours, they no longer can self administer the test on themselves. Medical professionals, presumably nurses, have been reassigned to solely administer and/or monitor the rapid tests of their fellow SHA employees.

If the covid vaccines are safe and effective, why does the SHA need to hire narcs to spy on their coworkers?

  4. Good old 70’s cop shows. In the set-up to the shootout, Urich and partner’s cruiser is no less than three distinct cars- 72-74 Satellite, 75 Satellite (heavier front and rear bumpers) and 73-74 Ford Custom.

  5. Piers Morgan lost his job because he didn’t believe Meghan Markel

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/tv/piers-morgan-addresses-lost-job-20113944.amp

Meghan concedes she misled U.K. judge hearing privacy case and blames a memory lapse
    https://nationalpost.com/news/world/meghans-admission-that-she-allowed-staff-to-brief-authors-on-stories-about-family-could-weaken-case-in-privacy-lawsuit

Will Piers now get an apology and his job back? Don’t hold your breath.

      1. VOWG – His former employer’s lawyer will ask “How could you possibly have known she was lieing?”. Piers: “Because her lips were moving”…
Isn’t that what actors do for a living?

    1. He’s literally more popular dead than when he was alive. His clips are clogging up my YouTube suggested vids and I am here for every single one!

    1. I suspect they are waiting on arms shipments from the Brandon administration.Logistic challenges, don’t you know.

    2. Shit, Cuba could invade the U.S. right now and our woke military wouldn’t mobilize a single Jeep in response

  6. The Globe and Mail is reporting this morning that CPP and EI taxes are scheduled to rise dramatically over the next two years:
    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-payroll-taxes-set-to-surge-at-a-most-inopportune-time/

I don’t know if people can access the above link, but the gist of it is that these two taxes will be shooting up by about 18% in two years, to a maximum of $4,300 per employee. High taxes and high prices. That’s our future.

    1. The article is, unfortunately, true. The decision was made some years ago that CPP benefits should provide about 33% of the pre-retirement, up from 25%, so the contribution rate has been going up from 4.95% (2018 and years before) to 5.45% this year and will top out at 5.95% in 2023. The Yearly Maximum Pensionable Earnings have also been going up each year (they never go down) and – beginning in 2024, there will be an Additional Yearly Maximum Pension Earnings which will bring the total up to $80,900 by 2025. The rates will be 5.95% on the normal pensionable earnings and an additional 4% on the amount above that up to the AYMPE. EI is frozen for 2022 but heaven knows how much it will soar thereafter.

  7. Trudeau and the GG’s behavior and lack of respect at the Remembrance Day service was a disgrace.

Would anyone know the ridings where military base’s are located how they voted?

If liberal they should be embarrassed.

    1. I wonder who took the photo of HIM posing with the young girls?
I wonder who those girls are? Relatives of HIS staff? Paid actresses, like the VEEP hired?

Isn’t it normal for youngsters to be irreverent? Think back to when Papa did the pirouette when Her Majesty wasn’t looking? Is botchick trying to follow Pop’s example and to compete with his record?

Yes, that is my intuition. HE’S after the Youngsters’ vote for his next election. Will the ‘Youth’ vote put him into majority territory? Maybe. HE really doesn’t care about the old folks’ vote and the veterans. He stuffs the ballot boxes anyway.

      Folks, we’re stuck with HIM.

Watch for the change in voting age! What will it be? 14? 15? 16?

That’s how I see this hoax.

      It was staged, imo.

The Poseur from Poopineauville has no sense of protocol, nor poise, nor polish, nor propriety– the precious piece of punctilio was just never there.

  8. Tim Pool has completely digested his red pill.  Great rant, right over the target.

    Failing to recognize Evil &
Continuing to grant Evil, the benefit of doubt.

Imagine fire department showing up & against expectations, spraying gasoline on the situ…

  9. Scary quote from Dr. Paul Alexander:

“On threats from the press (Dr. Alexander):

A reporter with the Washington Post told me, “We work as a pack. When we come at you [for our stories] we know there’s a small number of you who are going to commit suicide. We know you’ll take your life. It’s par for the course. We’re going to burn your life down. By the time we’re finished with you, you won’t be able to get a job. We’ll strip you of your home. We’ll do anything we need to do to turn you into a pauper. And if you survive all of that, we’ll write in such a way that we’ll incite some sick nut job to come after you, stalk you and your family, and harm you.”

  10. The Second Coming
    BY WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

    Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

  11. Can anyone name a single politician in Canada that stood up and defended the people’s rights to Freedom and Liberty yet.
Curious who you noted as defending our rights as human beings to control our own bodies?

  12. It appears that the staff in my apartment complex have a death wish.

I stopped by the rental office earlier today and there was a big sign on the front door, loudly announcing that everyone who worked in it was “vaccinated”. Good, as I guess that means I won’t have to wear a mask when I enter, now do I?

I’m now wondering how long before the ambulances show up to haul away the bodies of those who’ve dropped dead from taking the poison. If that happened, and people did start keeling over, would the tenants notice any difference in how things are done?

    1. Might be like ” Weekend At Bernie’s” over there at your Apartment Complex and maybe they’ll have to put you in charge B.
Oh, just think, you could put a new sign up at the gym:
“ALL WELCOME: NUDE OR DRESSED, MASKED OR UNMASKED VAXXED OR UNVAXXED, STRAIGHT OR NOT, TEETOTALERS OR ALCOHOLICS.

Just kidding. Please don’t be offended, but the way you wrote that, I burst out in laughter…it sort of reminded me of something that could’ve come out of an episode of “Faulty Towers.”
