    1. SSC employee here. I think it’s fake. I didn’t see anything on Friday, but it could have been sent late. Here’s why I think it’s fake:
      1) English only, general correspondence is always bilingual.
      2) PIPSC is the main union at SSC
      3) You would NEVER get fired off the bat for anything.

      1. Doesn’t GC use Times New Roman for official correspondence? (don’t ask: ex govt used to dealing with the Canadian Feds).

  1. Yeah, like I care if Justin is upset. we collectively are NOT amused by what he has done and is doing to this country. Of course, I realize this is just the title that Fransisco chose, but it allows me to vent. While JT is focused on such trivia, the country is in a state of decline, which he obviously doesn’t give a damn about. The simple fact that the eastern half of this once great country, saw fit to re elect this twat again, shows us the level of idiocy and stupidity out there in the voting LIV’s. I too, want a new country, hopefully before the total decline of the old one makes it impossible for a new one to rise from the ashes.

I did note the blocked out heading at top of four lines, with one line longer than the others, is the leaker of this document flipping the bird to dear leader, or is it just my wishful imagination?

    1. Gerry, we may not be amused by what he has done but we haven’t done a damn thing to change it. I don’t care about voting, I care about non-compliance, stop doing what they tell you to do. Refuse and it stops.

      1. I guess you are similar to those whose surname is/(was) “C23n”?

Saputo has just engineered the removal of such a surname from an Oz brand of cheese – named for the inventor of the cheese making process used!

  2. I call BS. There is no such thing as immediate dismissal without recourse or labour union representation in the federal PS. Believe me, I tried to rid myself of enough crappy silly servants to know. And besides, the proper term is bargaining agent so whoever did up that forgery can’t even get it right. Someone is gaslighting.

    1. It’s certainly possible your suspicions are correct. I’m not sure that some Federal department can simply unilaterally declare that an offense is something that can be beyond the pale of arbitration or representation of (say) the PSAC.

Although, in our brave new world, I wouldn’t be totally surprised if governments were attempting cram-downs based on the famous libertarian principle of FYTW.

      1. I was going to mention the give-away of it being fake was the US spelling of “offence”. But I noticed civil servants let Bill Gates or Steve Jobs do their spelling for them. They don’t know how to set their PC’s spell check and grammarian to Canadian English.

    2. I think you’re right, Thuc. I found it incredible that such a violation would be grounds for immediate dismissal without any recourse.

OTOH, not being vaccinated rather… that’s a whole different kettle of fish.

  3. So every time you get a call from revenue canada, start out with “lets go brandon!”….

This letter goes well with inJustice Adam Germain’s demand that the Pawlowskis state “I am also aware that the views I am expressing to you on this occasion may not be views held by the majority of medical experts in Alberta. While I may disagree with them, I am obliged to inform you that the majority of medical experts favour social distancing, mask wearing, and avoiding large crowds to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Most medical experts also support participation in a vaccination program unless for a valid religious or medical reason you cannot be vaccinated. Vaccinations have been shown statistically to save lives and to reduce the severity of COVID-19 symptoms.” any time they speak out in the future.

    1. If you’re getting a phone call from “Revenue Canada “, it’s a scam. They communicate by double registered letter.

      1. Speaking from personal experience, this is wrong. I have twice been contacted by phone by verified Revenue Canada agents. Verifying is a pain. Had a 40 minute phone call with the director of collections after I wrote the minister to complain about how hard it is to verify. The call display will say “Unknown caller”. RC calls people all the time.

  4. Not Amused….
LMAO.!! Outing Himself as what he truly is, a spoilt rotten little child throwing a temper tantrum…

Talk about thin skin…? pah, that 2 bit snowflake has none…

    What a fucking embarrassment.

  5. Will the government of Canada withdraw all services and personnel from Brandon? Asking for a friend.

  6. Makes for good theater.
    One doth protest too much…
C’mon man, politicians deserve derision and mockery, moreso the bad ones.
    Let’s go Brandon!

    1. Oh they do…. they really do, but now they have enough voters that think expressing your rational disgust towards incompetent “politicians” is distasteful instead of necessary.
Shiny pony’s ideology greased the slope, and he gave our society the great push down without any brakes seeming to be had anywhere except in the people with a shred of common sense to be had that remember where they came from, their toils and troubles, folly, fun and risk in such a free country, that at one time seemed so far from mediocre.
F— O– creatively said honestly by voters, is the same as saying the emperor has no clothes.
And dear leader and most around him and under him, right down to many at the municipal level are buck naked.
These are trying times, and one wonders what drops next, and if they are by design, or totally and utter incompetence
Regardless, one can take solace in the fact, it wasn’t us. It was them, they just aren’t built to see it.
But they will and it’s going to leave a mark.

  7. I too thought something smelled fishy when I saw the “immediate dismissal without recourse…blah blah”. That is the exact opposite of government-ese. Nothing is ever immediate and everything is subject to recourse, particularly union representation.

Secondly, the idea that the PMO reviews every external as well as internal communication is preposterous. I’m sure they’d want to, but the number of terabytes in daily garbage communication would require thousands of government censors the PMO is not currently equipped to provide. Unless they run everything through an AI algo to catch flagrant violation of Justin-speak.

  8. I’m going to have to say this is a fake. I’ve received hundreds of emails regarding unacceptable behaviour while working at Transport Canada, and this one is wrong. To start with, it would have to be bilingual. Two, it should refer to the Values and Ethics Guidelines for the Public Service and provide hotlinks to it. Every civil servant has to read and then sign that they’ve read it. Three, there are two versions of such emails, one for management and one for the workers, this is for neither group. Four, Shared Services is the IT department, they have no power to fire someone, that power is reserved to Treasury Board.

  9. Sounds like the Liebral party is “muzzling” our public sector scientists!

    Let’s go Brandon!

  10. In sending any correspondence to any government bureaucrat, you should always put “Let’s go Brandon” at the end! That would be fun. This is the kind of mischief could really take off!

  11. Of course it is a fake.
There is no way in hell anyone in our “civil service” could officially respond to a social meme such as “Lets Go Brandon”in such a short time.

    1. For one thing, that would mean that focus (something’s wrong with my keyboard–I tried typing “uck” and got “os” instead….) groups are a complete waste of time.

At one government establishment I worked at as a contractor many years ago, the section chief I answered to make the wisecrack: “I meet, therefore I am.”

    2. I hang my head in shame.

You are absolutely correct, John. It would take years for them to respond to current events.

      1. You nailed it, John.
The circumlocution office would takes months of committee meetings and lunches to even agree on who Brandon is…
Then they would shelve their findings.
But they would somehow feel that they did something.
Then they would go to a meeting about what they did, with a consultant who helped them feel good about what they did.
        Then, lunch, and repeat.
        Pensionable time.

  12. I call fake.
This is printed on letter head but lacks fold lines. Why print only to hand deliver? Where is the fold lines from being in an envelope?
Also Lets Go Brandon seems to be in bold italics, which makes it look like someone was deliberately attempting to draw attention to it to ensure that everyone got the meme.

On the other hand, the fact that this IS a meme proves how good a meme it is. For all the attempts by our educated moral elites to regulate speech and make long lists of approved and disapproved words in order to make society fair, just and inclusive… except to TERFS because quoting medical science is a Hate Crime, the conservative side of the world know how to run with a joke and are sharp enough to follow it as it mutates.

That is the joy of being a Conservative… Actually the joy of being a Conservative comes from simply not being a humourless soy cuck constantly upset at everyone for daring to get off their bums and improve their lives, but the second joy is knowing the humour of innuendo and double meaning. Like one of my workmates said earlier today “$20 is $20!”

The only person I feel sorry for is Brandon Prime. All he did was win his car race, take part in an interview and thanks to a throw away line everyone is now chanting his name.

  13. Have we all had enough Gallic corruption yet? It’s not a bug, but a feature of Latin culture. The French Canadians have no business running a (formerly largely-) Anglophone nation. It’s time for a friendly divorce à la Czechoslovakia. Then again, that quiet schism was the result of two parties largely bargaining in good faith; something inconceivable to the Gallic mind (much as I adore the cuisine & customs/culture of France). Just look at the devilish machinations of French leaders from DeGaulle right up to Macron: fiends and ingrates, all. No, the project from PET onwards has always been Franco-domination of this country; revenge sur les anglais for the Plains of Abraham and all the perceived historical injustices inflicted upon les pures laînes. It has been achieved and won’t stop until they can no longer extract anything from the ROC. The West must detach itself from the Québécois (& perhaps the Ontarian & Maritime) lamprey if it is to survive and prosper.
