Rex Murphy is on fire:
It’s a mess. It’s a shambles. It’s an embarrassment. It is the worst ever by any reasonable measurement.
Judging by their performance on the most important files, the current bunch in Ottawa would need to hire a consultant to figure out how to get wet in a thunderstorm, and set up a task force to study how to tie their own shoes.
Look around you. Canada is in the biggest, most persistent and threatening crisis since — well since ever. The long-term care homes are under a blizzard of mortality. There is heartbreak in every small business in the country. The worry and anxiety level of most everyday citizens — especially those not shielded by uninterrupted cheques from provincial and federal governments, and those not serving as a member of a legislature — is at an all-time high.

PM Harper Jan 19 2021 on coming Sovereign Insolvency. Harper an adult talking vs a babbling idiocy of the Trudeau Dynasty.
Hard to believe Eastern Maggots voted Trudeau over Harper.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAKetLKjCP8&t=0s
Because Trudeau convinced the brain dead he would screw over the rich and legalise marijuana.
The “rich” turned out to be middle class small business owners (not actual wealthy elite) and the legalisation of dope turned out to be a mess.
Ah, yes, Prinz Dummkopf’s war on the “tax cheats”….. Yup, that’s winning him a lot of votes, isn’t it?
It’s good! Excellent, in fact.
And this from one of them there “Eastern Maggots” who voted for Mr. Harper seven times, including at the Perth-Middlesex by-election in 2003 (CA, against brand), leadership 2004, and at the general elections in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2011 and 2015. I also voted for Mr. Scheer in 2019, wherein the CPC received the plurality of the popular vote (4 of the last 6 general elections, actually), and who plans to vote for Mr. O’Toole when the next general election rolls around, the timing of which is both a sensitive issue for Conservatives and a deadly one for the Liberals).
Please see cgh’s comment below, which is very insightful.
May I assure you that the public opinion polls are wrong, once again (yawn): the average error was 2.7% in 2019, which looks close to the average error on Trump v. Biden. Take that for what’s it’s worth, but it’s probably worse now, wherein conservatives are now almost constantly bombarded by deranged commentary, including from friends and extended family, who, technically, have taken to having their “heads explode” (actual quote from my sister) in unsolicited conversation from dear friends whom we have known for years, and who are Canadian conservatives. So, the real number about the Conservative lead in the polls is likely suppressed, as a matter of responsory safety.
At any rate, having been beaten up by my friends, immediate family, neighbours, etc., over the lockdowns, the vaccine deficiency, blah, blah, blah, such that I can’t even take Harry the Rottweiler for a walk, I called a friend in a different riding in SW Ontario to check out his view (well connected in downtown Toronto). Here’s what I got:
If the Liberals cannot deliver the vaccines in substantial-enough quantities by April, such that that there is the overwhelming probability that Justin’s promise of vaccinations for all who want them by the end of September, Trudeau will resign, to be replaced by Chrystia Freeland as Prime Minister, with an election by the end of October.
Sounds exactly like Gavin Newsom’s CA. Fortunately, we are having a successful Recall effort. Does Canada have a Recall Law? Or Impeachment? The left LOVES Impeachment’s …
nope they are stuck with what the got.
And people continue to support Trudeau and hammer Rex on Twitter. We’re doomed.
Twitter has 3 actual people, and 1 trillion bots. FYI.
Love it.
UnMe and who else?
You have to remember that the under 30’s have been programmed by the public education system. They are unable to vote anything but liberal because they have been taught by their teachers since grade 1 that conservatives are bad. Wynne wanted all day kindergarten to ensure the brainwashing begins at an early age. Try talking to a twenty something you will be amazed.
Unfortunately for us we have the worst official opposition we have ever had ! I mean the Bloc was better than the clowns around the The TOOLE . Which means 4 more years of Trudeaupia for us .
How is Rex able to retain his employment while writing such truths?
This might do the trick, Scott. Rex is getting a little too uppity. But he’s no Donald Cherry, It’ll be harder to make him disappear.
Our Deal leader oversaw the 2nd equally lethal covid wave, while he and the entire Canadian political establishment stared at the headlights, telling us all he was trying to protect the vulnerable, them once again leaving care facilities in body bags.
Oh, boo hoo, the provinces are to blame. Which ones? Why weren’t long term care homes cleaned up by either level?
Upcoming failures include springing Meng Meng when Biden and Canada surrender to Chinese jurisprudence and hegemony.
Or the Witch of the North Gretchen choking off western gas and oil supplies to our eastern markets by closing Enbridge Line 5.
https://financialpost.com/commodities/energy/sarnia-fears-thousands-of-job-losses-if-michigan-blocks-enbridges-line-5-pipeline
Add, as posted in Reader Tips, 58% of Canadian at least somewhat support rehousing of covid spreader, for “our protection.”
On another front, the government is doing a mini census of millennials, just for planning purposes, like tentage requirements.
Scott. There was an attemp to have Rex fired at the National Post, back in June, 2020, by a number of junior staff there I think. Perhaps SDAers can fill in the blanks, but he was criticized for a column saying that “Canada is not a racist country”. This was written during the BLM hysteria. After the abortive cancel attempt, Rex then wrote a column that ended “I stand by every word I wrote”.
They won’t fire Rex because they need a token sane voice so that they can claim that they are unbiased. It’s that simple. It’s always about the optics when you deal with socialists.
Trudeau the First had mortgage rates peak at 27%, back in the early 80s.
Has Trudeau the second beat that yet?
So, I only had to think for a single nanosecond, and I came up with an objective measure by which we are no where near the worst?
Oh, I was wrong. Only 21.46%, in 1981. Maybe Murphy is right.
Interest rates rise with inflation, always have, always will. With governments exploding debts, crowding out private investment when not regulating and taxing it to death, their induced covid economic shocks on the entire economy, with certain sectors ripped to shreds, only the largest surviving, with build it back bigger statists roaming everywhere, outing the unmasked, both in apparel and thought, their sanctimony hiding behind irresistible urges to rule us, with the Bank of Canada and the federal government hand in glove, conflating fiscal and monetary policy underwriting covid aid buying government bonds ostensibly to tamp down inflationary pressures, which given this mess of uncertainty could go logarithmic from arithmetic in a hurry.
From the 70s to the 80s, inflation grew three-fold, doubling in less than five years at the beginning of the decade.
What will happen if interest rates rise 3% effectively a doubling, over the next two to five years?
If anyone thinks that wouldn’t be a problem, I’ve got a bunch of half-full apartment buildings in Victoria to sell them.
I’m cash rich…..bring it. Today is just deja vu. Survived Turd the First with my first house at 20.5%, will out last Turd the Second, too.
Then you’re sitting pretty. Cash will be king very soon, at least in the realty market where I live.
The return on money is low but that risk is at the max, so great buying opportunities will come up.
Cash would be king, except Zoolander & Co have been busily debasing the currency as quickly as possible. The only way that they can ever pay down the debt is by using dollars that are only worth a dime (or less). That’s why they want inflation. At the Bank of Canada’s 2% inflation target, consumer purchasing power is cut in half every generation (the Rule of 72). To our political masters, though, that’s not a bug but a feature.
Rex is a CBC reject. Not good enough for CBC!!! The worst government was the LBP shit shower. It also led to the Turd. Need I say more?
The only glimmer of faint hope is that Jr Castro’s complete incompetence is saving lives. The vaccine will be shown to be far more deadly than the virus. The fewer Canadians that get vaccinated the more Canadians will die of old age and not a side effect of the vaccine.
And why aren’t the opposition Conservatives surging in the polls?
Probably because under The Toole they’ve focused on being Liberal Lite.
Sigh. We coulda had Max.
We should have Pierre.
(Mind you, the media would still attack any Conservative ceaselessly and praise Trudeau to the heavens.)
It’s not even that. The guy hasn’t been able to get on the news at all. What the heck is he doing? He should be hammering Trudeau on the vaccine daily. Why doesn’t he hold pressers after Trudeau?
james, the cuckservatives should set up a web site with info about sars 2, climate bullshit, and pipelines, etc, etc. But that would put them in the bad books of the news arm of the libtard party. They are always trying to broaden their appeal through wrong methods, as in become libtard lite.
Hey, when failed attempts at libtard lite do not result in loss of the current base; why not?
If you actually care about results, then just move your vote. If only the
ChurchParty matters, then keep donating and voting CPoC no matter how large the betrayals and failures.Only a stupid electorate can be influenced by a biased media and go all dreamy over a mess of hair delivering speeches/sermons with a breathless nasal lisp.
This simply cannot end well given the divided opposition the minority government will not fall. They will empty the till and end up in a depression and the blame will be put on COVID.
You said it just so, “a stupid electorate” asked and answered.
“Only a stupid electorate..” Well, that’s it then…we’re screwed.
Liz J
I used to moan to my wife about us, media wise, living in the former Soviet Union. She responded with, But THEY didn’t believe it! Whoa, she nailed, eh?
I like your “mess of hair” image!
Have you considered the possibility that bureaucrats in Western government agencies may have basically been installing their chosen governments perhaps since about the mid 1990’s?
In other words, Trudeau was installed BECAUSE he is so weak and easy to dominate?
I love that Rex keeps poking Blackie and his student council, but he could turn it up to eleven.
That isn’t, in my view, being “on fire”.
Complete the diatribe by calling out the dismal lack of opposition, not just Old Tool, but all of the acquiescent premiers.
They are a bunch of timid losers being played and cowed by the likes of the minority children, Turd, Fat assed Freeland, Seamus the drunk, and of course by all of the unelected health Nazis who read, with increasing arrogance, the WHO memos, and back their arbitrary talking points with fake data and thinly veiled threats.
Stevie, exactly!
Conrad Black has a new story at the National Post website regarding Blackie and Dementia Joe.
If only someone had the prescience to warn us that a failed drama teacher just wasn’t ready to be run a country (other than into the ground).
Here’s another warning, if Alberta remains part of this crap show we are no less to blame for all the ill that will befall us than all the shallow, low info voters that called for this abysmally inept hairpiece to captain this confederation. Twice. Canada is beyond redemption and Alberta may already be there too.
Keep banging your head against the wall like a bunch of morons. I guarantee you’re going to knock yourselves out.
When are people going to get sick of being robbed then stabbed in the back by all things Quebec?
50% of voters want more of the same according to some poll in the media, 32% support for Liberals and 18% support for the NDP. Conservatives are at 31% apparently.
Canadian voters have been acting like juveniles since the 1960’s without consequence because small population Canada has been clinging to the northern border of the largest free market in the world and selling them vast resources.
However, now that the US has decided to go woke and go broke – is there a possibility that those numbers may flip? Can a country remain as unserious as Canada?
Yes we can remain an infantilized nation, it is so much easier without responsibility. Wit the US actively regressing, China must be licking it’s chop sticks.
Well, has the CPC done ANYTHING?
Other than doing what the media tells them, “be more like liberals”.
Liberals in blue suits, is where they have shifted. There are very, very few actual conservatives in the party. Look at Michele Rempel. She started with great promise years ago. Now, after hanging out with Kantsmellyas for years, she is little more than a liberal in all her positions. Another reason to abandon these shameless hypocrites.
All true by Rex.
Why does this not resonate with the masses?
Because CBC, CTV, GLOWBULL, CHITTY, CORUS RADIO , etc, are all propagandizing the country, lionizing TruDope and his minions, as looking after his just awesomely.
We have an unthinking population, that thinks they are hi tech geniuses, cuz they can post to FB and Instagram.
Danny me BOY, on fakebook, the bible thumpers are on side with the libtards, there’s that!!!
Um, no. Maybe LGBTQABCD churches are (united, Anglican, etc) that selectively choose and ignore The Word, NME.
danny BOY, 7 denominations support the DBS movment, and 7 is a greater number than needed to represent Kommunist church 2, Kummunist church one is the RCC, your’s truleyNME
Pierre Poilievre aside, a shot or two at the CPC’s current slate of feckless eunuchs would’ve been nice but I’ll take it.
Right. It would be nice to imagine that an election would actually change anything.
Rex one of the few Canadian journalists it trust.
Stupid foolish citizens inspire stupid foolish political leaders, who are then elected to reflect their majority.
Canada is fast becoming a geographic region rather than a real political entity. Our current form of democracy has failed us.
The government at most levels has lost the consent of the governed. Resist tyranny.
Higher taxes can’t fix bad weather.
Open the borders. Open the schools.
Can’t get vaccines? Prescribe cheap, plentiful and safe Ivermectin and HCQ which are proven to significantly improve outcomes.
Covid-19 is statistically insignificant to anyone under 65. Release these people. The hysteria of a few does not trump individual freedoms. Government policies and supports should be directed to seniors who request it.
Every time government extends a lock down, they have lied. Stop lying. Stop doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result.
Modelling is not science.
Plus one million +++++ etc …..
Can I repost your post?
This is what happens when every single position (cabinet) is filled based on their intersectionality score rather than any knowledge of the job.
We have an interesectional cabinet that has been run over by the reality bus 🙂
That includes most of the civil service.
I was going to comment, but what’s the point?
At this point, there’s a little game I like to play in which I ask myself, “Is this a flaw or a feature?” I know you’re not supposed to imagine malicious design where incompetence explains all but that doesn’t mean malice is not a factor.
Summed up in three words virtue-perfumed arrogance
Rex Murphy has been on fire for years. Here’s a list of all the changes he’s inspired: { }
It’s very bad. It’s nowhere near as bad as getting us involved in WW1 or putting the Japanese in internment camps or Trudeau I for that matter. To think otherwise let alone write a column to the contrary is insane and utterly devoid of perspective, and those endorsing this self-absorbed viewpoint will get the historical treatment they deserve: irrelevancy and burial.
EDIT: Rex is an awful writer. Consistently just the worst.
Un, I can only assume you have that view of Rex because he uses big words. Frankly, there is no other basis for your opinion. He’s brilliant.
He’s not brilliant. He has never written a single insightful statement. He consistently panders to dummies. That is all.
You’re such a special case. Do you really think saying something so ridiculous is influential? Haven’t you got anything better to do with your time? Caring to your navel lint collection?
To be clear, you like Rex for the same reason you like Trump: they’re both stupid old white fogies in (unearned) positions of power/influence and they pander to you. This provides you validation.
UnMe Re “He has never written a single insightful statement”. Here’s one: “This rich, sophisticated, technologically advanced and altruistic country of ours is the only G7 nation raiding vaccine supplies intended for “developing countries.” True and inciteful.
Here’s another: ” Incompetence can’t cover it. We need some term that speaks of dedicated and determined, merciless and staggering wrong-headedness”. Proof:
1. Canada led the world in per-capita spending related to the COVID 19 pandemic yet the USA and almost all of Europe will be vaccinated this year while Canada won’t get there until mid 2022, according to the globalist spokeswoman The Economist. The link is embedded in this article:
https://nationalpost.com/news/how-ottawa-utterly-botched-canadas-covid-vaccine-acquisition
2. “Canada will take more than 10 years to recover at the current rate”, a bit misleading, but, this Financial Post article also references liberal rag Bloomberg which ranks Canada 34th in the world in terms of vaccine rollout per capita.
“The budget will balance itself”. The vaccine will administer itself, soon to be followed by the country will extinguish itself.
UnMe: Seek the truth while it may be found.
It’s nowhere near as bad as getting us involved in WW1 or putting the Japanese in internment camps or Trudeau I for that matter.
Neither did Trump and you hated his guts.
Well no. Instead he pretended COVID would go away and held super spreader rallies that altogether killed many tens of thousands of Americans. That was on top of ruining the US economy with trade protectionism and immigration restrictions.
killed many tens of thousands of Americans
Yup. They had the clear the dead bodies off the streets with front-end loaders, didn’t they?
Oh, UnMe …
We’ve read your screeds.
Don’t feign erudition by attacking Rex Murphy’s obvious mastery of writing.
The Federal Government has already declared an official Climate Emergency, get ready for the pandemic suspension of constitutional and human rights and freedoms and accompanying massive police state oppression to morph into a Climate Emergency lockdown.
How many people e- mail, phone, write their MP’s and let them “have it”.?
You have time to post here – get on the blower, call your MP, e- mail The loser and tell him he better get some gonads or he is out next election. No use writing the newspaper – besides who reads it (?) They wont publish your letter unless it fits their lefty agenda.
For Gods Sake people – do something constructive,
AND – yes – I do all of the above!
Hosed, I agree with you here. Irrespective of what party a given MP represents, people should email the MP and tell him how awful this government is. Mr. Murphy is right.
That will only work with Liberal MP’s in the East. We need a BIG March.
None of this will matter. Our thoroughly feminized society will kiss the ring of The Hair That Walks Like A Man™ “for all he’s done for us” whilst the females who are completely in the tank for His Hotness will continue to post pictures on Twitter of his open-shirted posing when he was in his twenties (along with cries of “Look at this hotness!“) as an honest-to-God rebuttal of people actually trying to point out that he’s doing a bad job.
I’ve long since stopped believing that it’s only men who think with their genitals.
Robert, “on fire” is accurate.
To the naysayer, context man, context. Consider the milieu.
I pop into extremist The Burning Platform from time to time. It’s good but sometimes swerves into Alex Jones country. It’s OK for me ‘cos I have a well honed sense of the implausible.
Recently, in one piece, it was suggested that Tucker Carlson was “controlled opposition”. I mean, Lou Dobbs is gone, Tucker remains.
QUESTIONS
1. Is “controlled opposition” a thing?
2. If so, is Rex one?
“Well honed sense of the implausible” -I will be sure to use that whenever I want to diplomatically tell an insane person that they are insane.
Then have that conversation with yourself, Shitbag.
I think the real reason Unme hates Rex Murphy is that he dared to criticize his beloved establishment. Of course, we know that Rex is saying what a lot of people are saying and thinking, but in the mindset of Trudeau/establishment loyalists, criticism of their Dear Leaders needs to be declared verboten.
“You’ll own nothing and be happy”.
Of course it’s the worst Canadian government ever. And that’s saying something after the disasters of McKenzie Bowell and Meighen. But that doesn’t mean he’s failing to achieve his objectives.
It should be remembered that his father created official bilingualism as a way of divorcing most of the Canadian population from participating in its government and turning it into something only that could be recruited from the Laurentian region. At this point it’s not clear what Spawn is after other than mere vanity. I suspect he wants to be the next Secretary General of the UN, given his lavish attempts at spending in worthless 3rd World countries and his flagrant sucking up to the PRC. It’s in the family; his favourite “uncle” Mo Strong never quite got there and had to settle for second-best.
What does it matter if we vote CPC, Pinky O’Toole be just like Blackie! We’re screwed as a society. Nothing will change. I’ll vote for Max but the CBC will prevent him from getting his message out. The commies like UnMe are running the asylum, and they have provided nothing so they have nothing to lose until they take away all the money and freedom.
Thanks Robert —Yes Rex Murphy nails it again!!!! And a thanks to Watcher for his Stephen Harper interview with Cambridge House!
It saddens me that we have gone from a strong Leader like Stephen Harper to an absolute disaster like Justin Trudeau! One who worried about a Canadian deficient and balanced the budget—- to Trudeau who has create the worst debt to Canadian tax payer ratio in Canadian history!!!
Unfortunately this debt will be paid for by my grandchildren’s children!!!! If they are able!!!!!
Beware “white knights” bearing relief and comfort!
Whilst being aware of the old adage about “gift-horses”, one should be always alert for horses of the “stalking” or “Trojan” variety.
Hold the “Trojan” jokes for later.
This country is getting the government it voted for.
Canadians are too dull, unimaginative, weak and lazy to vote out or oust people who are similar in their thought processes, even if they screw up badly.
This is why you should sit back and watch them ruin themselves.
Make that Eastern Canadians. The TRUE Canadians (in their minds).
I would love to,”This is why you should sit back and watch them ruin themselves.”
As long as I could do from inside the boundaries of a sovereign Buffalo.
Where we can refuse to participate in the madness and refuse to pay one cent more toward “social benefits” exclusively for Eastern Parasites as their elected representatives seek to crush the Western Economy.
We need to break free of the Welfare Confederation, before we are forced to pay the debts belonging to other provinces.
Before imported citizens of convenience overwhelm the voting process as they vote themselves more for doing less.
And before the debt is so large that the interest exceeds government income from taxes.
We need a new country, one where math is important.
Can Ahh Duh is proudly the Post national State of “Math is hard”..Racist even.
