CNBC News Crew Arrested After Trying to Smuggle “Improvised Explosive Device” Through Newark Liberty Airport
It was a lousy day all around for media.
Freedom of the press does not include freedom to violate the law with impunity even as a publicity stunt.
They weren’t violating the law–they were conducting “investigative journalism”.
Uh-huh…..
If they’d succeeded, they would have blamed it on Trump. Now that they’ve been arrested, they’ll blame it on Trump.
Who needs an IED?
The media were committing slow suicide in any case;
given their aversion to anything that resembles the TRUTH…

A publicly stunt with the intent to completely embarrass the TSA, the airport authorities, other law enforcement… ya, not sure they’ll be treated with kids gloves.
A publicly stunt with the intent to completely embarrass the TSA…
It is not possible to embarrass the TSA and its crack crew of fit, alert, and dedicated anti-terrorist specialists.
Surprised they didn’t try to smuggle an old, rigged Ford Pinto.
I teach my child that when you play act/joke/pretend to do something or be someone people will perceive it as the truth, so be careful what you do. “Journalists” pretending to smuggle a fake explosive device in an airport are people smuggling a fake explosive device in an airport.
Freedom of the Press does NOT “Free” them from obeying the Law. However, the entire Press behaves as though they are “above the Law”
I AM pleased to know that the same TSA agents who make me throw away perfectly good tubes of toothpaste … also make Terrorist News Agencies toss away their simulated bombs.
“on the DO NOT FLY LIST”, That’s where they should end up at the very least. In today’s age, that would be a very dreadful thing,,, to be on the Do Not Fly List !
The left keeps telling us that terrorists can be any age(checking up granny’s skirt) or color, so why shouldn’t the law treat these people like any other terrorist who does a trial run, by taking illegal items through security, to test the success of the attempt and the response. They should be found guilty and imprisoned.
It’s up to the TSA to check the security quality, not NBC media.
in fact, I strongly suspect this is exactly how the authorities will read the sit’n, and respond accordingly, ie a very heavy gavel.
I agree with kenji. last time I boarded a plane I had to gulp a $7 bottle of juice I bought at the ‘sky high price’ boutique *inside* the security area of the airport (pearson, tranna). the satisfaction of seeing a job well done trumped the irritation of this inconvenience. my only response was they should put up signs somewhere NEAR the food boutiques as to the new rules.
any time someone I know pipes up about flying somewhere I always remind them to ignore the ‘new surroundings, gee never done this before’ and SUPPRESS the urge to ‘just kidding’ joke about smuggling anything.
But it is possible to embarrass yourself, e.g. by getting caught by that “crack crew” of fit, alert, and dedicated anti-terrorist specialists.”
speaking of flying to places, lookie lookie!!! found another shythole, real close by !!
