    I was reading a Sir Arthur Conan Doyle… a prolific writer and an unapologetic imperialist from the turn of the 20th century (yeah, the Sherlock Holmes guy) story last night called “The Tragedy of Korosko” which takes place in Sudan.
    In this story, he lays out a case for British imperialism in Egypt/Sudan and elsewhere. According to him, corrupt governments were like a cancer to the world. The poor received no justice and were endless exploited by their government. It was the British DUTY to right things least the cancer spread. Other European powers were not interested in helping. Of course he said all of this much better than I have but this is the essence of his arguments. Oh, and by the way, he was seriously critical of moslem culture. This line of reasoning, though DEEPLY unpopular today where all cultures are equal does strike a chord of truth. So it goes…..

    That is not exactly very Christian of us, is it?
    We have been involved in helping the hopeless for a little over a hundred years, in the hope of advancing humankind. Where has it got us, the hopeless are starting to outnumber us, riots in France, rapes in Sweden, Muslim demonstrations in Britain, shootings in Chicago, it goes from bad to worse no matter where you look in the world. The best part is that we keep electing politicians that advocate that we must, duty bound, keep helping the hopeless. Any politician that says anything along the line of “Charity begins at Home” is immediately vilified as an uncaring cad. We have placed ourselves between a rock and a hard place and the space is slowly diminishing. We are on the verge of finding out that we are the hopeless.

On September 25th, Lethbridge Police responded to reports of concerning photos on the app, Snap Chat, one with a firearm lying on a pack of cigarettes and another showing a case of bullets.  Both photos had “Chinook High School” written across them. An investigation determined there was no intent to harm anyone and 18 year old Mohammad Farawan was charged under the School Act with disturbing the proceeding of school. He’s pleaded not guilty to that charge and is expected to go to trial on June 14 next year. –

  28. I know it is extremely politically incorrect to say it,but,the main reason India succeeded is 200 years of British occupation of the Country and the imposition of a British system of justice and system of education.
    This is not to claim the Brits were saints, but their laws and education were the best in the world in past centuries.India benefitted greatly from that.
    I know it’s popular to see GB as a fascist Nation suppressing the innocent natives,and they were to a certain extent, but compared to any other European Country’s colonization in that era and Britain looks good. There would have been no “Gandhi” if Belgium was their master.
