Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Trump The Establishment
Hahahahahahaha
Way too funny, kimmel, Oliver, that other guy, Seth, et al doubters
It’s been quite a day hearing raving Dumbocrats and mediots, that this is a rebuke if Trump…….
Hmmmm, Dumbos winning in Dumbo Blue states. Whodathunk? Hardly a rebuke, at all.
It’s been a tremendously rewarding year – seeing MAGA take hold – watching the thinly wrapped left loose their grip and melt into a simpering snarling ball of emotional delusion.
I think Scott Adams from Dilbert fame said it best; that the left’s reaction to the Trump victory was more a matter of failing to cope with the fallibility of their world view/belief systems – sort of like a melt-down over cognitive dissonance.
I’m enjoying it – and looking forward to the predictable GOP seat increases in the mid terms – then we put the political left on suicide watch …. naaaawww what am I saying, never interfere when a public menace is in the throws of a suicide trajectory.
Those that laughed and scoffed even among the GOP are now in serious hatred mode and doing their best to obstruct and destroy. How dare anyone not acceptable to the establishment even contemplate leadership roles.
Yes, if it wasn’t so deadly serious it would be funny. The American people narrowly averted being drawn deeper into the grip of the Frankfurt School controlled anti-freedom alliance.
Enjoyed the vid but let’s face the facts. Trump won because Hillary.
She won’t be running next time and the left will be motivated. Dems will make huge gains in the mid-terms. And Trump will lose in 2020. Sorry to ruin the celebration, but that’s just the facts.
Boy … I sure needed that after the Democrats uUUUuugeee wins in New Jersey and Virginia last night. Boy howdy … but didn’t those Deep Blue states vote Deep Blue … and a Tranny? Yeah … brilliant libs … simply brilliant! I could NOT have imagined a better candidate for the Democrap Party except for maybe a ticket of Harvey Weinstein and his running mate Kevin Spacey. That would cover ALL the genders (and ages) …
I LOVE the fact the leftists laugh at MY President and consider him a joke. And I hope they all keep watching Saturday Night Live … week after week … watching weak Trump skits. Over and over and over … invite their best Tranny friends over to laugh with them.
Oh wow, an SDA commenter who isn’t hopelessly delusional. That makes two, including me. I guess you also tuned in to yesterday’s events?
Tell us what we don’t already know, Mr. Holder:
http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/holder-unleashes-orange-man-trump-we-want-america-barack-obama
According to lefties like him, the Golden Age sure ended a year ago today.
She’ll run again but she’s unlikely to get the nomination. The Democrats will only be rid of her when they carry her out boots first. Did you know she tried to take the credit for those “overwhelming” Democrat victories yesterday?
I was never a Trumpet indeed I was very skeptical about Trump at first but overall I am pleasantly surprised. Overall he is doing very well. Not as well as I would like him to do but as well as can be demanded given the dhimicrat enemies and the rhino fifth column he has to deal with… and as a huge bonus drives the UnMe commies completely bonkers.
One complain I have is about his continued sucking up to Turkey and not recognizing Kurdistan.
Delusional? … Like projecting HER as a 97% winner of the Presidency ? Delusional? Like the Blue Firewall that no Republican could ever penetrate ? Ha ha ha … you lefties are too funny.
He’s not delusional. He’s a leftist. Didn’t you know that only the lefties know the truth and the truth has set them free?
@UnMe:
You made me do it. I had to go back through yesterdays comments to get this and here it is:
——————
I only want to point out that the Democrats won STATE races which were not really a surprise considering the background factors in NJ and Virginia. LOCAL politics. Yes, I would have preferred another result but is it really a set back for the President’s agenda?
Now look at Utah. Who was elected on the Federal level? This is the one that counts for the President.
“Curtis supports a border wall, Trump’s Supreme Court nominees and Republicans’ tax plan. He also wants ObamaCare to be repealed.”
The Democrats would like you to believe that they’re back on a winning tack but really, are they? Oh, Mike Duggan, Democrat, was elected mayor of Detroit too. My,my color me surprised.
—————–
Democrats are, at this point, simply desperate for ANYTHING that looks like good news. Brazil’s tell-all book is the future of the Democrat party…. a total disaster.
Still, I’m not going to predict 2018 much less 2020. It’s too soon to say. Historically, the party out of power makes gains in the midterm elections. But then Trump is not in the historical mode of things is he…..
You reading it all wrong bro. Trump won because he was the anti-establishment candidate. If he continues to push his populist agenda, even if the establishment on both sides of the house continues to obstruct him, he will win again.
MAGA
It’s been a great year of winning.
The Dems have no one to run in 2020 and they are still out of touch.
How do you know you are not hopelessly delusional?
One of the things that sets leftists a part from normal people is their farcical over-confidence in what they think should be.
How is that working out these days?
I wish that were so, northernont, but Trump won in some states with fewer votes than Romney lost with. The only possible reason is that Democrat supporters didn’t come out to vote, either because they were disgusted with Hillary or they thought she was a shoo-in.
I hope I’m wrong, but cultivating a cult of personality built around one man bodes ill for a national party — ask the Democrats who kept worshipping Obama as they lost 1,000 legislative seats across the country.
Trump’s willingness to dump on his own candidates could lead Republicans to stay home for those candidates — and that’s actually in Trump’s interest. If he thinks he’s going to take a serious loss in 2018, he can rip Republicans and then blame them for losing, stating that they failed to properly pay homage to him.
It’s easy to over-read a single election night; it’s also possible things will change radically before 2018. But if the 2018 elections were held next week, Republicans would be rightly preparing for disaster.
This is the standard blather I’ve heard before. Fact is, not only did the GOP lose the Virginia governor’s race, they got rekt in the Virginia legislature. From supermajority to no majority. Like I said earlier, the GOP also lost some county-level positions in PA that they held for 150 years. It was not close. The numbers confirm that in Virginia there was a massive turnout by Democrats, and that was enough. Ed wasn’t a great candidate, but there is no ‘local’ political explanation for this. It was Turmp. This is a sample platter of the bloodbath to come in 2018, and Pelosi is getting her old job back.
“The Dems have no one to run in 2020 ”
Brooker or Harris if God doesn’t totally hate us.
Warren or Steyer if He does.
“… if God doesn’t totally hate us.”
Who is that “us” you’re talking about?
Further, Trump’s accomplishments are paltry, even if you count harassing minorities as an accomplishment. The most he did was pull out of Paris and appoint Gorsuch and a mixed bag of other judges. Other than that it’s been minor regulatory adjustments, which are likely outweighed by his tariffs and immigration restrictions, and failure to follow through on Obamacare repeal. Even his tax reform is floundering.
Now all those wankers are crying into their toilets.
What a crying shame that is.
Trump has had a bumpy year. Behind the scenes he’s winning on regulation, on climate change, on killing Obamacare. But the dimwits of GOPe can’t quite get their stuff together to support him. Thus Bannon.
2018 could go a lot of ways. The Dems could put together a bunch of reasonable candidates and pick off seats. Or they could go full Sanders and put up a lot of way out of the mainstream lefties. The GOP could run Trumpians and have Trump stump, or they could run GOPe guys like Gillespie and lose in close races.
A year into the Presidency, Trump has made very few errors (keeping Sessions is one) and is hitting singles. You can win a ballgame that way. But my sense is that for Trump and the new GOP to really win they need to swing for the fences. Build the wall, cut taxes, kill Obamacare, be willing to swing the big stick at the NORKs and the Iranians. Tell England they can have a yuge deal on Brexit.
Compromise is Trump’s enemy. The GOPe is not his friend. Fire Sessions and go after Hilly and the rest of the Russian enabling DNC.
Go big or go home.
I think Trump won because he was outside of retail politics. He was always a NY liberal but presented himself as anti establishment. Voters were sick of the Bushes, Clinton’s and Obama.
Bernie still has traction with the DNC. The Dems are trending left. He might be their guy.
I think Bernie is too old. Also, Democratic establishment do not trust him. He is currently not a Democrat.
Most people who voted for Trump still support him and would vote for him again. It is too soon to make a judgement on the 2018 and 2020 elections regarding the Trump factor. My sense is that he continues to build support as he proves himself capable. When the media dwells on things like fish food, people stop tuning in to their relentless criticism. Also the left loses support with such things as Antifa antics. At this point, for a lot of people, Trump has done better than they would have expected.
But what good is pushing the populist agenda if he’s got a four-year track record of not implementing any of it? There’s no wall on the Mexican border. Obamacare is fully intact. Tax reform, who knows if it will look like anything decent after the stupid Congressional Republicans are done with it. Not much has happened on trade agreements. Trump can’t run as not!Hilary a second time, and if he can’t achieve very much else in his remaining 3 years until election day, he’d probably be better off not running. His ego won’t handle a loss very well.
The swamp, she resists draining something fierce. And Congressional Republicans are nothing if not swamp monsters.
UnMe opined: “but there is no ‘local’ political explanation for this”
Have you looked at a map lately to see how close northern Virginia is to Washington? The people that live there are part of the establishment. Do you know that the foreign-born population in Virginia increased from 1 in 100 in 1970 to 1 in 9 today? And over 2/3 of them live in northern Virginia. That’s your local political explanation.
The electoral map of Virginia is almost totally red. The DC suburbs in Northern Virginia likely voted 95 % Democrat like DC. The Democrats were expected to repeat in Virginia and Chris Christie screwed up so badly that there was no way a Republican was winning. It all came off as expected. Trump lost these states.
have they approached Chelsey? after all, lookit what happened here. plus the Bush dynasty.
First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.
Repeat as many times as necessary….
As a lifelong Oakland A’s fan (yeah, I know … it’s like being a Republican in the Bay Area) I am all in favor of “small ball”. Which is not to say that I didn’t enjoy the Bash Brothers … but the post-Roidal hangover was a real headache. Billy Beane was the earliest adopter of Sabermetrics which places the highest value on OBP (on base percentage). Not only singles … but WALKS too! So I couldn’t be happier with MY President’s singles. Not to mention how he is WALKING all over the EPA and the FAKE science of Global Warming. However, Trump is hitting HARD singles through a drawn-in infield confident of their ability to turn an inning-ending double play. And … Trump has already proven his POWER HITTING by seating a Constitutional Conservative next to Elena Kagen on the SCOTUS. All of this despite the so-called “owners”of the game juicing the ball in an effort to enable their own weak bats (read: a dottering old, washed-up Nancy Pelosi and HER). And it appears as though the opposition ‘bench’ is filled with transgendered players … who are much more suited to women’s (HER team) softball … than the Men’s hardball League.
So … I am so much happier with Trump’s seeing-Eye singles … than Obama’s flailing at home plate.
Ask the hysterical meatballs which of Trump’s policies they disagree with.
From the loudness of their hate they should be able to come up with dozens of valid criticisms of his ACTUAL policies, no?
And if not, why not?
How is he harassing minorities?
Really, not the fake news narrative of how he is history’s greatest monster?
What has he done against minorities?
The longer newly minted immigrants stay in our country … the closer they will become aligned with Trump’s (the majority of American’s) immigration policies. It is a MYTH that every person ovvvvv cullllllER is a Trump-HATER. But please Democrap Socialists … keep believing in your mythical orthodoxies. Don’t stop.
I’m guessing you didn’t watch the video, or if you did, you did not gork it.
In the video Barack Obama declares, “Well Mr Trump, at least I got to be president”. At the time Donald was assumed to be delusional , now it’s clear that the one holding the delusions was Obama.
Trump beat Clinton, Trump also beat Comey, Cruz, Lil Marco, Jeb and Ben.
There’s no shortage of people who were, are, and continue to be wrong about Trump.
365 days of best TV in decades.
Every day another righteous fool, bemoaning the end of the World.
The tears of progressives have cheered my day every day for more than this last year, but this last year has been glorious.
The scream,they moan,they weep and throw tantrums…LOSERS.
To see the career parasites and con-artists demonstrate their inability to process the election results is priceless.
Short of murder,President Trump is here for 8 years,as the citizens use him to peacefully remove the Uni-Party.
2018 will be brutally funny.
Of course if the Trump Train fails the rational voters will have a simple choice, slavery to a Kleptocracy or the Second Amendment.
What is truly amazing to me is that the poor wee snowflakes still insult and condemn the citizens who voted for President trump.
The Deplorables.
I guess they were too stupid ignorant and self absorbed to heed the Tea Party, so now they have the Trump Train and if it derails they will be hearing from The Enough Stealing Already.
Finally it truly tickles my twisted sense of humour to hear the wailing incompetents threaten violence, what did they think when gun sales peaked under President Obama?
Can they think?
Or is emoting their only ability?
There was just an election a year ago where Hillary won that state by some 4%. Ed lost it by 9%. That’s simply too huge a change to be explained by demographics. Further, it is a lie that foreigners are pushing America to the left.
@Currie: you’re delusional. None of that is ever happening (thank God The Wall isn’t going up). If you haven’t noticed, the USG is kind of built for compromise. That’s how it works. Too bad Trump is a terrible negotiator.
That’s a mugs game to compare a general presidential election to a gubernatorial race but you knew that. And I love the way you deceptively round your numbers in a way that favors your argument. If it’s a lie that foreigners are pushing America to the left, why is much of the Democratic strategy tied up appealing to those demographics. And that despicable ad aimed at immigrant voters must have been run by someone else, right?
“If you haven’t noticed, the USG is kind of built for compromise.”
Please cite an example where Obama, or Lincoln for that matter, compromised.
FDR was elected to 4 terms. Cite an example where he compromised.
1 – Against who? Biden? Elizabeth Warren? Schumer? Name anyone that has a chance.
2 – Don’t be surprised if the mid-terms are another shock to the Democrats. They still think the way to win is get as much money as you can, buy as many votes as you can, and run all the media ads you can. That’s the old way to win. I can’t think of a single Dem who arouses any – ANY – excitement on the stump. Maxine Waters? Nancy Pelosi? Al Franken? Trump has upset the apple cart, and all the Dems can think of is to put the apples back on; they don’t realize the world has changed.
