  1. The names Brian Mulroney and Karlheinz Schreiber conjure images of (alleged) meetings in a dark corner of an expensive club or restaurant, as they nibbled on pumpernickel and smoked Canadian salmon. Meetings that caused Mr. Mulroney to age much faster than he should have and also led to the arrest and conviction of Schreiber in a German court. I wonder how many such (alleged) meetings have taken place over the years in this Canadian club??

  2. Christy Clark is, when it comes to allowing / supporting a pipeline to move Alberta Oil to tidewater through BC, a bizarre combination of Obama and Trump. Obama, in that she panders to the greens, and Trump, by way of wanting bounty for allowing passage. And what’s stranger, she is still preferable to the other two twits. People on the Coast pay significantly more than Calgarians for gasoline largely due to the lack of pipeline and refining capacity and mindlessly go along with the institutional left and its hypocritical aversion to fossil fuels.

The Art of the Deal is a leadership skill, and transferable to the world stage.
Team America: World Police is one of my favourite movies.
I much prefer it to a future documentary movie about the results of EMP attacks.

Sam Westrop: Calling for The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah to pull out of Toronto event supporting Islamist intolerance. Sam Westrop is the director of Islamist Watch, a project of the Middle East Forum.

Actually I am surprised that the National Post, given the appeasement policies of the Trudeau government and its M-103 motion, soon to be government policy, has seen fit to publish this piece.

  5. Iran will hit back at most of Saudi Arabia with the exception of Islam’s holiest places if the kingdom does anything “ignorant”, Tehran’s defense minister was quoted as saying on Sunday after a Saudi prince threatened to move the “battle” to Iran.

One of them are islamophobic, I’m not sure which though.

  6. There’s a link to an article on Drudge right now that has the anti-smoking police in Ontario giving a guy who was having a smoke in his *OWN* SUV three tickets of $365 (or thereabouts).
It’s in your National Post. Sorry, I don’t have the link.
He took the issue to court andnthe judge threw them out.
A unit in your police dedicated to punish smokers. What are you guys thinking?
Oh, it’s Ontario. Never mind. One more reason for me never to travel to Canada.
    Creeping tyranny at it’s finest.

  8. I know a “coffee truck” driver who got the same ticket back in 2010. She owned the truck and the catering company. That was in Guelph ontario.

  9. This guy was in his car but the car had the name of his business on it so the Thought..errr Smoke Police claimed it was his workplace. Trouble is, his business is commercial and residential cleaning service and it’s impossible to clean a business in his car.
His daughter runs a branch of that business in our town. She cleans our home once a week and does a terrific job at a reasonable price. Her dad is now my hero.
By the way, any of you in SW Ontario need a cleaning service, remember the name SPARKLES.

Moi am not now a liar; nor, have Moi ever been a liar, Justine Liberal say.
    …-
“Sajjan lied because exaggeration is on-brand for the Liberals”
“That the minister lied isn’t in dispute. What’s less clear is why he would tell a lie so easily disproven and so damaging to his reputation when disproven it was.
One possibility: Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan sits somewhere on the continuum of a pathological liar, compelled to tell tales of military feats more illustrious than reality could confirm, to hell with the consequences. Another possibility: he sits somewhere on the continuum of an idiot, unaware that lying even has consequences.
Possible, but so unlikely as to be absurd.”

  11. As I’m dealing with local bureaucrats myself, this story rang too true.
I can’t help but wonder how big Ontario’s ‘Smoke-Free’ enforcement bureaucracy is considering they dealt with fully 100 complaints in the previous year. Why are so many bureaucrats common sense free?

But of course we can always make exemptions:
    ****Exemption: Aboriginal people
If you are an Aboriginal person and reside in a public or private hospital, psychiatric facility, long-term care home, home for special care or independent health facility, you may request an indoor area to use tobacco for traditional cultural or spiritual purposes. This area must be separate from any Controlled Smoking Area.

    Justine Liberal’s “Panicked Canadian government”.

    …-
“Panicked Canadian government called Jared Kushner and asked him to press Trump not to pull out of NAFTA – making the president’s son-in-law their go-between
On April 26, the White House said Trump was about to pull US out of NAFTA
Canadian officials called Trump adviser Jared Kushner to ask him to intervene
Canadian media reports had Kushner scrambling to convince the president to reconsider, but it appears it was the other way around”

  13. “as they nibbled on pumpernickel and smoked Canadian salmon”
If you go back a few years into the CBC archives, when the Fifth Estate first asked Karlheinz Schreiber if he had ever met with Brian Mulroney, KHS claimed to have met him in a European restaurant where they lunched on ”pumpernickel and Smoked Canadian Salmon.” Wish I could remember where!!
I do recall the CBC spending mega bucks and producing several hours of programming (that included trips to Europe) in an endless war against Mulroney.
That’s where I got the pumpernickel and salmon story.

  14. It’s a weird inverted racism. It’s using identity politics to enable virtue-signaling. But it’s still bigotry in the sense that the signalers assume that all blacks are the same. At least that’s the way I see it, for now, anyway.
