Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What They Say About SDA
"Smalldeadanimals doesn't speak for the people of Saskatchewan" - Former Sask Premier Lorne Calvert
"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
Finally the world is starting to wake up. For those of you wondering of which I speak. Google Gobekli Tepe, Yonaguni, Dawarka underwter city, Sphinx origins, the Olmec and Egyptian connections, Lake Titicaca, La Venta Mexico, Monte Verde, or historic water levels during ice ages. During previous ice ages, which were far more severe than the recent one, it was physically possible to traverse by foot from one continent to another. Not a direct line, but definitely possible. Buried civilizations dating back to 50,000 B.C., water erosion on the sphinx going back possibly 150,000 years ago.
Ancient Summeria circa 6,000 b.c.had cuniform writing, advanced commerce, advanced astronomy, and physics. This did not happen in a vacuum, nor over night. Man has had agriculture for over 50,000 years, and religion even further back than that. The drivel of all of us being cave dwellers 10,000 years ago is like saying the Clampetts were representative of modern man. There will always be humans who shun society and live in the wild, but that does not mean they represent the zenith of society.
Yukon fossil key to uncovering bison’s North American invasion
March 21, 2017
The DNA from a steppe bison fossil discovered in the Ch’ijee Bluff on Vuntut Gwitchin Settlement Land has played a central role in determining when the large ice age mammal first arrived in North America and its subsequent evolution on the continent.
The 130,000 year old fossil was found in 2006 and is the oldest reliably dated bison in North America. Prior to this discovery, scientists had little reliable information on when bison first migrated eastward across Beringia to North America.

Scientists have discovered that an unprepossessing fossil found near Old Crow likely belonged to one of the earliest bison that lived in North America.
The new research, published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, used the 130,000-year-old Yukon fossil to show that steppe bison, the now-extinct ancestor of modern bison, first travelled across the Bering land bridge from Asia between 195,000 and 135,000 years ago.

I’m not saying it was aliens, but it was aliens.
Impossible. Adam and Eve were put on this earth only 6000 years ago.
I found this quote annoying:
“If this site is as reported, then it would indicate that there was an ancient human dispersal to the Americas that left no trace in the fossil record or the genome of ancestral Native Americans,”
…as it displays stunning ignorance of just how incomplete the fossil record and archaeological sites in North America are. It is entirely plausible that a small migration of a few thousand hominids crossed the Bering land bridge, lived, hunted, and entirely died out before the next group came along, all without leaving behind anything that’s remained intact.
It’s fine to say “we need more proof”, but not to say “this isn’t plausible”.
And your dog in this fight is what? Why should a shit-bird like you care if some fringe Christians say the world is 6000 years old?
If the world turns out to be 7000 years old it affects you how?
Or do you not like what a wonderful life you have in general and cannot connect it to Christianity and lack the understanding that it could cease to exist without Judeo/Christian values and beliefs underpinning it, shit-bird?
Hominids could have migrated into North America along with bison during the previous ice age 130,00 – 190,000 years ago, thrived during the last interglacial 114,000 to 117,000, then perished without a trace during the last ice age. It’s all speculation.
Huh…and I thought the science was settled!
Actually, Jane, I’ve been reading up on all this for decades. An interesting book, if you can get your hands on it, is “Forbidden Archeology”. And I’m somewhat of a fan of Graham Hancock. His last book, “Magicians of the Gods” is a fascinating read.
Gobekli Tepe has really thrown a wrench into the works, eh! I love it! For the uninitiated, check it out… http://gobeklitepe.info/
Marine archeologists are only just beginning to scratch the surface of what lies under the waves along continental shelves, such as you mention in India. What happened to cause all those cities to end up in 60 + feet of water? The final meltdown stage of the last ice age circa 8500 BC. ( All this bull**** about climate change? What a load of unmitigated ignorant crap! )
I am always reminded of that famous line uttered by Jack Nicholson in that courtroom scene: “You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth!” Amen to that!!!
“Our current quality of life is thanks to Enlightenment values, which are at odds with and in spite of ‘Judeo-Christian values'”
Not at all. In fact our quality of life is because of Protestant Reformation values, after which the Enlightenment followed and is merely an expression of Biblical Judeo/Christian values, not secular.
As I’ve said many times before, I am not a Catholic. I appeal to Catholics and ask, “Is this what you want?” “Are you cool with this, given that it is heralded and sanctioned by an esteemed Elder of your Church?”
I would give NME’s left nut for a taste of a mastodon steak.
Re: History!
Does it really matter to us or does it affect us today knowing how old the human race is, or how deep the ocean was during the last ice age, or how many woolly mammoths ran across the great plains, or how many times a day Cleopatra was laid?? What is important is what is happening today, right now, at this very moment!!
As for Christians telling the rest of the world how it should be, you may want to start by proving that Jesus was indeed a real person, and not a literary figure concocted by angry monks!! I can’t believe the six O’clock news when they talk about what happened a day ago, so how can I believe the stories that are 2000 years old??
Yesterday is gone, tomorrow may never come! Enjoy the moment guys, it’s all you really have!!

The Solutrean “Hypothesis” is becoming more prevalent as predating Clovis culture with advances in DNA and archaeological evidence.

History Is Bunk >
“What is important is what is happening today, right now, at this very moment!!”
R U Muslim?
I think the idea is to be “bigger than that”, as in advancing out of the Dark Ages and evolving culturally with some knowledge of the past to help guide the way forward.
It’s what separates the rest of us from the Taliban, well most of us anyway.
“take a trip to any of the countries colonized by Spain….”
But you think colonization by Islam is somehow “better”.
BTW the Spanish were always the bastards of the Islamic Moors, isn’t it coincidental that the Moors were expelled from Spain in 1492, maintaining a large cultural presence in Spain until 1600’s.
It’s not a big wonder that the “Spanish” adopted many barbaric practices from 1492 onwards as “Columbus sailed the oceans blue”
“An international team of scientists has uncovered striking evidence that mass conversions to Catholicism by Sephardic Jews and Muslims took place in the 15th and 16th centuries in Spain and Portugal.
The discovery shines new light on one of the bitterest episodes in the history of the Iberian Peninsula when the region entered a period of terrible religious oppression. The Moors, who at first adopted a policy of religious tolerance when they conquered Spain, later introduced laws that forced Christians and Jews to convert to Islam”.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2008/dec/07/genetics-conversion-catholicism-spain-religion
The punchline is that it’s 2017, and Islam is still as backwards and barbaric as it was then.
Cromagnons and Neanderthals were always people, always humans. They were just not my specific iteration of the human genome. They were never less than me/us. Our ancestors just decided they wanted to mate with those who we more like us, themselves.
I like English or Australian ladies(less so Scot or Irish, I can’t understand their speech) just fine, but I like Canadian ladies a whole lot more just because I can relate to them better.(it must be the accent) Am I a Bigot? Yes, yeah so… I like best what I am most familiar with but am willing to learn. Always learn. Always thought there were two states, growing and dying. So why do I care if someone I don’t know decries my preference for a Canadian accent or any other thing that is more familiar to me or more comforting or understandable?
So maybe the whole “Out of Africa” theory is bunk?
Who gives a rat’s ass what happened back in the annuals of history? Were you or anyone else part of a Basketball team that didn’t get their just deserts?
Who gives a shit? does any of this have any affect on what President Trump is going to do in his negotiations regarding NAFTA or anything that will impact our lives tomorrow in 2017?!
Surely we can just trust God and try to live within the status quo. There is no point in worrying or speculation. Just breathe and endure.
Yes, yes~ But was he aboriginal, or indigenous?
What drivel.
The basis of western Civilization, the most advanced ever is from Judeo/Christian values.
Those countries colonized by Spain may suck, but that maybe a problem with Spain. I bet they look virtuous compared to Islam.
Good ol’ SDA!
Where else but here could speculation over the archaeological record of humans in the Americas be conflated into inane sectarian squabbling?
JJM >
I posted Archeological comments with links last night, but they stuck in the moderator filter and never remerged, so it needs to remain “inane sectarian squabbling” for now or my Archeological data points/ arguments won’t flow.
Ryan – you’re hopelessly optimistic. The world was created 10 minutes ago, complete with false memories, planted history, and designer strata simulated to have been warped and eroded over billions of years.
It’s only after we apply Occam’s razor that the 4 billion year old earth rises to the top as the most likely. Though any of us are free to believe anything we want.
Well, free to believe anything we want as long as we’re not in an Islamist nation.
Hatz off to OZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I was in Grade 12, our physics teacher took a tennis ball from his desk, and instructed us to catch the ball after he had bounced it off the back wall of the room. After someone caught it, he replayed the scene again, and again, 3-4 times. ”It will never happen exactly the same as it did the first time I threw it” he said. ”All you have to do to be happy in this world is to simply enjoy the moment you are in as you are trying to catch the next ball.”
That moment is still etched in my mind today. That was 1967.
too bad we can’t even get a handle on tomorrow.
Tomorrow will be the same as today but slightly different.
So this could mean that “first nations” may in fact be “Tonto come lately’s” fourth nations.
