maybe Justine will get that pipeline built now, just to move BS and hot air to south of the border. I think this is Alberta on a country wide scale, all those promises and the fiscal bottom falls out. All that free stuff his supporters were hoping for is “gone” :-)))
I’m not worried. Justin just appointed the most diverse cabinet in history and we all know that diversity fixes everything!
No Problemoo
Print more money…soak the rich…whoops there aren’t many of them out there..ooops
Profits evaporating….taxes too…just one place folks…and that’s you 🙁
New taxes for sure…first on list…carbon tax…next…waste tax…next…??
Gov will “support/invest” in Bombardier, etc, etc, etc…nirvana…we’ll solve it…yes sireee
Fact is…..this mess…and it will be a mess and ugly…will be worn by Libs etal
Ordinary joe will of course have to pay the bills and debts…sad but true.
Funny but sad to see “tone” of news articles in Alberta now.
Corporations are evil, they have committed sins against…..everyone, everything.
Job loss in service sector is not result of 15/hr now…its evil private enterprise.
Job creation…with and by gov….using TAX dollars will save us….yahoo
What happens if no one earns and pays taxes??? Just wondering??? That’s all.
Atlas Shrugged and Orwels 1984 coming true….wow…we are so screwed.
Just my take….hope I’m wrong….we’ll see.
Question, How much provincial tax does a provincial govt employee pay ? Answer, Nothing, they just pay some of their salary back.
This is neither a Shiny Pony nor a naughty Notley moment. The money leaving the country has been tracked only to June 2015. Justin’s shiny pony doesn’t start pulling the plow until Wednesday.
BUT, if I was Harper I would be leaving with a smile because it’s going to get ugly.
Justin seems to be a firm believer in affirmation action. ie: Half the cabinet will be female to be political correct regardless of other factors. Then he has to have an over-representation of various ethnics(non-whites). Also must include at least one niqab wearing immigrant. Now I know I sound racist but seriously? This bending over to be PC is getting tiresome.(actually I would be totally surprised if a niqab shows in in cabinet, just being facetious, even Justin would not be stupid enough to do that)
Basic insurance policy.
If you trade internationally and have cash in canadian dollars, move them before the election.
Now Trudeau Two is in, look for a 40c dollar.
Ontario and Quebec need it.
And Harper the cuckservative along with fellow cuck Jason Kenney bent over backwards to placate “New Canadians” and flooded the country with TFWs in the name of there aren’t enough Canadians to fill these jobs. The irony is that the TFW/New Canadian vote went overwhelmingly Liberal.
It seems that our Canadian cuckservatives aren’t that much brighter than the cucks South of the border. They thought that if they opened the border to get a few visible minority votes that it would be good politics. Kenney and Karl Rove should cry over a beer.
Morons.

I feel that could also be the case, it could also explain why Harper appeared so “content” as the election was going south, he knew:-)))
Here, let me fix that intro. It looks like you forgot to include some of the very important text:
“Money is flooding out of Canada at the fastest pace in the developed world as the nation’s decade-long oil boom comes to an end and little else looks ready to take the industry’s place as an economic driver.”
Investment is flooding out of the country, but nowhere does it mention Trudeau. Investment has been flooding out of the country, because the oil boom is in free fall. So let’s not blame the “Shiny Pony” for this. Let’s place it squarely on the shoulders of the Conservatives and supporters like you for not realizing that this day would come.
The day after he got elected Justin Trudeau was dancing on Punjabi music, wearing Indian clothes and dancing with not one damn white Canadian ( why would he care about those???).
he is a pot smoking hippy/feminized metro-sexual/social justice warrior/ “diversity is our greatest strength – community organizer, but not prime minister material.
He will hurt Canada badly.
Women voted for him because his good looks gave them tingles between the legs.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
We have a major financial shit storm coming, and we should expect JT to do the wrong thing every time and many times over.
I am quite pessimistic.
The meltdown will occur on the Librano’s watch. There’s always that.
I wonder if a certain trust fund is moving to invest more offshore.
How about those easterners. Don’t you think those red snappers will bail the rest of Canada out?
You are, of course, wrong. The Bolsheviks in Edmonton are making the same excuses, but the truth is that the NDP is very closely aligned with the anti-fossil fuel and anti-pipeline groups. And just for the record, in adjusted terms for inflation, etc., oil prices have been lower without similar exit of capital. Money will be leaving Canada at a quicker pace now with the brain dead Liberals in Ottawa and Comrade Notley in Edmonton.
“Investment has been flooding out of the country, because the oil boom is in free fall.”
Uh, John? Investment has been flooding out of Ontario and Quebec for ten years. It’s even been flooding out of Toronto lately. Now, with the Liberals at the federal AND provincial levels, it will flood all the faster.
You can’t make a buck here, John. There’s nothing going on. It’s pitiful.
The only thing that was really working was oil and gas out west. NDP government in Alberta sank that, plus the Obama veto of the Keystone pipeline. Lots of American money being spent to sink the Pacific pipeline too.
Wait until the real-estate bubble in Toronto finally bursts. Then you’re going to see some really serious sh1t, because that’s where a significant percentage of the money in Canada is invested. Let those prices fall for a while instead of rise…
If GM and Bombardier were too big to fail then surely Canada will be bailed out by a printing press somewheres me thinks…Like Greece was and is, again and again…So relax and roll a doobie and sit your tired of looking, unemployed ass on your rent to own couch and watch the comedy of Princess Trudope, the fake, bad acting, melodrama-over-nothing, new clown PM during Question Period everyday on CPAC. Microwave some popcorn from the food bank and enjoy the Show…All insane fun just like the Barry Hussein show down south which is and on it’s 7th season I may add.
The CBC are to receive 150 M $ extra promised by Justine so a few Documentaries on the darkest decade in Canadian history (The SSStephen Harper years) are already in the works. Other comedies in the works: “The Toronto Rednecks” , a black comedy about an ex prime minister and his family who become rich by drilling a hole in their Albertan backyard…So, they loaded up the truck and moved to downtown Toronto…Come on! it’ll be a masterpiece like that other CBC comedy gem: “Schitt’s Creek”
Tax dollar fun!…No, make that IMF/Fed Reserve printing press dollar fun!
John – Canada is now officially a socialist wasteland. Quebec has never made any effort to encourage investment. They’ve been content to be on the dole courtesy of the former “have” provinces. Any facade of financial well-being in that province comes by way corrupt crony capitalism obtained by extorting the ROC. Ontario is beyond description in their legacy costs, energy mismanagement, high taxation. No environment there to attract, let alone maintain industry/jobs there. Green energy jobs are just more government wasteful spending pie-in-the-sky lunacy.
Keep dreaming, roll another dubee, and by all means don’t let anyone influence your profoundly impeccable judgement.
Good one.
Except that gives them far too much credit, they pay no tax, they are just lied to as to their actual wage.
But ask any of them;”I pay taxes”.
So, johnboy, you can believe all you want that activist governments in Alberia, Cherrana, and Ottawa have no effect on the business climate and their future investment plans.
You are entitled to be as wrong as you constantly are
Jawknee, make sure to tell Justine not to put all his eggs in one basket?
Kate – This “John” individual isn’t real is he? His comments are just weirdly masochistic. A genuine provocateur couldn’t really be that infantile.
…That’s the fastest one-year deterioration among 10 major developed nations.
A far cry from the headline… …flooding out of Canada at the fastest pace in the developed world.
So… China, France, Germany, Russia, India, etc. etc. etc. didn’t make the list.
Q. Is New Zealand a “major” developed nation?
A. No. No it is not.
Q. Is it fair to assert that investors are pulling their money out of Canada because of Trudeau?
A. Yes. Trudeau is a “major” idiot.
Truth hurts.
Once again… nowhere in that piece is Trudeau mentioned. Nowhere. And yet it is used to take a jab at the guy. And if anybody here thinks the lagging economy can be blamed on the Liberal who’ve net yet take office, or the NDP who haven’t been in office for even a quarter yet, then you’re just plain crazy.
I only seem like a leftwing kook because you guys are so far to the right. I’m actually only a little bit of a leftwing kook. And economically… i’m pretty much right in the centre. Perspective.
I am not sure anyone will ever blame the Pony as he is not the master of his own mind.
However the the air of a Trudeau government in recent months has given investors and corporations a good deal of pause and concern about doing business in Canada.
Canada is now officially a socialist wasteland?

America, Few jobs, and 20 trillion in debt under the Virgin one..

That’s what happens when you bet the farm on oil. Guess “protect our economy” meant “gamble on commodities and hope you can take credit if it doesn’t go south” eh?
Ontario was the engine of Canada’s economy for a long time. Deliberately killing cheap energy has slowed that portion of the engine, and it’s still winding down. For a time the Alberta oil developments (built up over more than 40 years) were able to keep the economy’s head above water. Oil prices began to sink, companies hunkered down. Then Alberta elected a protest vote that immediately began to hire senior people who had been speakers at “no new pipelines!” protests, and had been heard at those protests announcing that they would stop any new developments from occurring, if they had the power to do so. Industry is taking them at their word – and bailing out. Notley didn’t cause oil prices to fall, but let industry know that they are in for a harder time now, so those who can move their investments to friendlier environments are doing so.
Words, like elections, have consequences. When the left in this country does its best to kill any portion of the economy that is working then they shouldn’t be surprised when there is no functional economy left. Have fun rolling your doobies, and remember that once they’re legal the government is going to tax the h$ll out of them too. I have yet to meet a stoner who is happy about that prospect.
If the left had left us alone and let us work and produce then there would be lots of extra production that they could skim off of. But no, they wanted a turn to drive. And tell us at every turn how we are evil. OK Justin, you have the wheel now. Will you man up to the consequences of taking us off the road?
John >
“Let’s place it squarely on the shoulders of the Conservatives and supporters….”
Heh, for once I can somewhat agree with you.
The fact is ALL that investment flooding out of Canada is not foreign. A ton of it is Conservative Canadian money, Alberta oilfield money, that could give a rats ass about investing in this communist garbage dump.
Conservative supporters are indeed guilty of not showing up for the riot. Now they invest their money in worthy foreign ventures. But oh well at least Turdeau and Nutley won’t see a dime extra, neither will the Social Program recipients once the money runs out and no one else globally will loan them more.
Watch and see.
Like Knight 99 says John is halfway right, funny how the parasites , as in elected leaders of the Canadian Kleptocracy, figure business people will just sit still until the anointed ones are ready to take their wealth.
The money flows are a clear indication that investors have long term vision.
Trudeau Two?
Been there saw the movie.
Internally you need to buy real metals, assets that can vanish as the banked funds are heading for negative interest rates, RRSP’s are going to get trimmed(Ala Greece).
There are no longer enough makers in Canada, the takers are going to seize fixed wealth, just before they start ripping each other off.
The fictitious world economy is reeling from crisis to crisis, all that glues it together is fiat money.
Created from nothing and worth just as much.
Canada will see a US$0.40 dollar, simply because Ontario and Quebec need it.
So forget travel outside the country… serfs.
Oh, for pity’s sake..
Much as I despise the Dauphin, this is not on him. Part of it is oil – the rest of the world sees Canada as an oil producer, and the C$ as a petrocurrency. That’s wrong, but it doesn’t matter – perception is what counts, and the perception is that investing in Canada’s oil and gas is at the moment the wrong thing to do.
And part of it, as others have noted above, is the installation of an anti-capitalist government in Alberta, and the re-election of the anti-capitalist Liberals in Ontario. Ontario has a massive debt, bigger even than the Quebec one we used to laugh at. Ontario as its run today is not a place I would start a business in, EVER. The perverted hag in charge, not content with getting her equally pervy friend Bennie Levin (now doing time for child porn convictions) to introduce a pedophile’s dream of a ‘sex ed’ curriculum, so they could ‘groom’ underage kids for their pleasure, is now going to take even more of our money to spend on her weird ideas under the guise of the Ontario Pension Plan.
All of this happened before the Dauphin’s election. Wise investors were getting their money out years ago; now that the ordinary Joe has seen the writing on the wall and is buying US stocks with his RRSP/TFSA, the trickle has become the flood.
Liberals – destroying economies since 1968.
KevinB >
“Much as I despise the Dauphin, this is not on him”
What is “on him” is the fact that 41% of Canadians picked an idiotic drama teacher over an experienced economist to run Canada’s Economy for the next few years.
Serious Investors and Speculators have spoken on their feelings with the matter.
Along with Alberta’s 41% anti-oil, anti-wealth NDP government, it’s no wonder that anyone with 2 nickels to rub together, especially Albertan’s are running out of country as fast as they can with their investments.
Indeed, as “John” said it’s “not about the Shiny Pony” – I’ll add “per say”, as it’s doubtful that he could manage 2 loony’s clinking in his pocket. It is about the Global & Domestic TRUST & CONFIDENCE of SERIOUS people, not 41% of Canada’s airheads who get to decide what our economy will or will not do based on their feelings.
“Liberals – destroying economies since 1968.”
Wynne’s go to guy for the Hydro 1 fire sale is none other than Ed Clark the brain who thought up the National Energy Plan for PET
#Realchangepfttt.
Well said, as were comments by C_Miner, Knight 99. The flight of companies and their plans and cash according to the article began a year ago. The trajectory appears to have to be in tandem with the polls showing a possible Trudeau win. Companies have long memories.
