  1. Short video: Hungarian PM Viktor Orban tells EU leaders that the migration crisis isn’t a refugee crisis, but a “migratory movement composed of economic migrants, refugees, and also foreign fighters” that threatens to destabilize the entire continent.

”Neither the German, Austrian, nor the Hungarian way of life is a basic right of all people on the earth…Europe is not able to accept everyone who wants a better life.”

  2. That is good. I did think that some of Trudeau`s comments were quite banal — feel good platitudes that mean nothing, but perhaps that is all that is expected in the context of a victory speech. There certainly was little thought or insight. The one plus coming out of this terrible election experience is that Conservatives can now occupy the moral high ground. I trust there will be many opportunities to sneer at foolish Liberal missteps. Thanks to David Warren for getting the ball rolling.

  3. The election gods have smiled and dumped the Jays as fitting punishment for T.O.s support of Turdeau.
Go Jays-Go and take Turdeau with you.

  4. Lindal: Remember Nixon and ”I’m not a crook–I’m not a crook!!”
Quoting Richard Nixon while trying to endorse the new PM is indeed a questionable choice of reference! But then as compared to some of the characters that both Margaret and Pierre hung around with, Nixon was most likely ”upper crust!”

  5. The rent seekers are already circling like buzzards as they see Trudeau’s Canada as a carcass ready to feed on. Wonder if Trudeau factored this in to his projected deficits.

Canada’s “fair share” in the global effort to combat climate change includes slashing greenhouse gas emissions by one third over the next decade and sending $4 billion a year to help poorer countries, Climate Action Network Canada said Friday.
The startling appeal comes out of a meeting of developing countries this week in Bonn, Germany, ahead of a United Nations climate summit later this year in Paris.

  6. Re: Blue Jays loss!
My comment at CBC.Ca is, ”Toronto got a lightning bolt for the Oct. 19-2015 victory. Enough said.”
It will get deleted, that I know.

  7. http://www.therebel.media/_real_change_why_power_corp_china
“Trudeau’s transition team is being led by a top China lobbyist in Canada named Peter Harder. Besides being president of the Canada-China Business Council, Harder is on the board of directors of Power Corp.
That’s the massive company that was the power behind the throne of pretty much every Quebec politician for a generation.
Power Corp also has huge government contracts in communist China, including, for example, the contract for the Beijing to Tibet railway — a political project designed to swamp Tibet, by bringing in millions of ethnic Chinese settlers, to stamp out any lingering Tibet culture or politics.
Power Corp run by the billionaire Desmarais family. Andre Desmarais, the president of the company, married Jean Chretien’s daughter. Chretien went to work lobbying China literally within weeks of stepping down as prime minister.
So forget about civil liberties or democracy being part of the Canada-China discussion now that Trudeau is in 24 Sussex.”

  8. To be fair, we’ve been in bed with China for quite some time, and now it’s going to be consummated. I’m not sure if it’s rape if half the body politic wants it and the other half doesn’t.
The east is red. Sunni ways.

  9. He’s worth $40,000,000 to the Liberals, that’s what it cost them to convince enough fools to vote for them.
It remains to be seen what his rein will cost Canada as he takes the top job. IMO, had Stephen Harper gone for a shorter campaign we may well have had a different result, he gave them too much time, which is what they needed.

  10. Does anyone equate the election of Justin Trudeau to the top job with giving the keys to a kid who isn’t ready to drive? Rabid hatred has made Canada look like a Mickey Mouse country, apologies to Mickey, but you don’t give responsible jobs to those who haven’t proven themselves to be up to them beyond a name. He lacks experience and educational background befitting the job,it devalues the job and the country.
Who will take us seriously when we are so irresponsible?

  11. Let’s not forget that Justin is nothing but Obama-light.
They both were chosen by the overlords to do their bidding as they do not have enough original ideas between the two of them to find a way out of an elevator with the doors open.
They have “advisors” that write their speeches and give them their talking points to read off the pages in front of them. They are pitchmen, selling the latest and greatest new shiny toy that the UN, NASA, Muslim Brotherhood and others have planned for the people.
Justin might be called a midwife. He is here to deliver the new baby that has been conceived and the masses are cheering him on in anticipation of what he is bringing into the world.

  12. As horrible a choice as Trudeau is, Conservatives should be looking in the mirror and seeing how little we got out of a decade in power.
Once again we allowed the politicians to serve themselves rather than solve the myriad of issues.
    $#!@ the CBC.

  13. I don’t think Nixon gave his blessing to boy Trudeau as PM.
Nixon thought the current PM, PET, was an ‘asshole’ (without asterisks) which is how he described him after a Whitehouse visit.
He knew he was a commie hippie.

  14. Pierre Elliott Trudeau called this wholesale 1st to 3rd world re-distribution a ‘North South Dialogue.’
Rule: In Leftish, dialogue always means monologue and narcissistic virtue-signalling.
We’re gonna hear a lot of this eye-roll-inducing eyewash over the next few years.
    I am heroically resisting a …. sigh.

  16. The long election was called in order to cut off all those union ads against Harper. But people wanted change so it was difficult to fight it.

  17. I have just submitted a complaint to Elections Canada regarding the illegally posted strategic voting signs in my community. These were posted on mailboxes everywhere in my swing riding. I felt this was a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise Conservative voters. The signs were on mailboxes which I believe is illegal. I also suspect this initiative was supported by foreign money via LeadNow. The illegal funding of anti-Conservative groups in this past election needs to be addressed. Since complaints about Robocalls were relentless, foreign funding of this election should be given equal attention by both the media and Elections Canada.

This is such a dog and pony show. Knowing Junior, he will bid $200 Billion.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees, which represents support staff, received $181,000 in 2012 and $280,000 in 2008.
The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario took no money in 2008 and 2012, and has said it would not accept any in this round of talks, either.”

  21. OK Justin’s a wee bit inexperienced for the PM job, but that didn’t hurt the US when Obama became president? OK, bad point, but remember how our economy declined under Harper right? No?
At least we got Harper out of our system – our problems are over. No – “we” wanted him gone, but his political corpse is still required for future blame.
Rex Murphy: Who can be the magnet of our great national discontent now that Harper is on his way out?
“In the old days of electoral mathematics (when Stephen Harper was prime minister) this would be looked up as unjust, inequitable, shameful and a perversion of the democratic process. Now, I suspect, such disproportions will function as beautiful examples of enlightened democratic choice.”
Speaking of Mr. Harper — now that he is, effectively, no longer prime minister, who or what shall fill the void? He was the lightening rod of our every discontent. He was a monster bent on destroying our democracy, a fascist who worked on a secret agenda for a full nine years in office and of which even now, with his leaving office, we remain still in darkness, innocent of its terrors. For you see it was far more important to keep it secret than to execute it.”
He was, variously Machiavelli, Mussolini, Mao and Hitler. Harper Canada’s image in the forums of the world, and purged all our “Canadian values” here at home. He was the Sauron of Mount Doom-on-the-Rideau waving his terrible arms from the towers of fear and hate. He was tepid on global warming and down on selfies. He liked hockey.”
Well, who can fill that vital role? Who can be the magnet of our great discontent now that he is going and soon to be gone? Can we abide a country that is now all sunshine and butterflies, all summer holidays and hootenanys? I predict a Canada invective-deprived, all honey and harmony. Post-Harper, all is calm, all is bright. Can we live with that? Can Twitter survive? Will Raffi hang up the mandolin?”

Millions sprinkled on teacher unions with no receipts is OK because Mike Harris was worse

Sandals recalled the days of Tory-reign more than 20 years ago, which she said made worse mistakes in labour relations.
The expenses paid to the unions didn’t come with a receipt; the exact details of the spending are not known.

  23. The effect of the Liberal majority on Jewish Canadians:
“Having an understanding of the political topography of Canada’s Jewish community, I know who is reputed to be ‘Liberal Party pro-Israe’ that will be entering Justin Trudeau’s Liberal caucus when parliament convenes. I can count them with one hand.
Conversely, the amount of newly elected Liberal MPs who can be identified as hostile to Israel in Toronto alone matches this, and along with the examples from across the country, and the newly elected Liberals with no history yet but will conceivably join their caucus’ growing anti-Israel wing, we are looking at a newly formed government that is potentially quite anti-Israel. The best we can hope for is a new government that is lukewarm, with a cabinet with the least amount of Liberals from the anti-Israel wing and the most amount from the pro-Israel wing.
It’s a real shame that Harper was defeated as far as this topic is concerned. During the last conflict with Hamas Conservatives from coast to coast supported Israel while rockets rained down and Hamas tortured innocent Gazans. And some Liberals, like some who just got elected, put the blame on Israel, defended terrorism, and showed their true Liberal colors.”

This was my comment on CBC.Ca, that was deleted. And when people began to protest the CBC brown nosing of Maggie, they shut the comments off.
”Let’s give Margaret Trudeau the respect she deserves”
Let me get this right. For ten years, the CBC bashed Mr. Harper, ignoring his family, his accomplishments, allowing every negative comment to remain posted while they deleted our pro-conservative opinions. And now, all of a sudden, there days after the election, we owe Margaret Trudeau respect. Nice try Neil!’
