  1. …and all the now unemployed horses will be sent to retirement homes with nice clean stalls and green pastures, instead of the slaughterhouse, right?

  2. If you’ve ever wanted to see New York City in person, hurry up. It’ll become the new Detroit pretty quickly.

  3. New York is going to be Comedy Central on full ahead stupid for the next four years.
    Should be most entertaining.

  4. Okay, the new mayor is getting rid of horses because it’s cruel to make them work in that dangerous city……, Perhaps next he can get rid of the dogs and cats … it’s a dangerous city for them too. Then how about getting rid of those Negros. Most them already DO NOT WORK in that dangerous city, they just hang around and make it dangerous, …. so … hey super do-gooder Mr Mayor … no more negroes. in New York, okay … get rid of them so we can bring back the horses and carriages to a safe work environment. All our furry friends deserve better.

  5. For the good of the State and to “Save the Animals”. Those two slogans have surely killed a lot of people and animals. Brain dead MF’ers.

  6. Thank goodness, finally someone steps up to take the mantle of “most embarassing mayor of major city in North America” away from Toronto’s Rob Ford.
That being said, I’ll bet New Yorkers will be praying for someone like Rob Ford before their new guy is done – at least Ford is a competent, cost-reducing fighter for the average taxpayer. Beyond that, I (and many, many Torontonians) don’t care what, or who, or how much, he does.

  7. You have to wonder how a person like him reaches his age. Who led him across the street all these years?..How did he survive? He doesn’t seem like he should be allowed out of the house.

  8. There comes a time (often, it seems) that the idea of an IQ test for voters doesn’t seem so crazy.

  9. Gee! I’ve never heard of a horse being mugged in Central Park!
I wonder if Anthony Wiener would’t have been a better mayor after all.

  10. NYC will now experience “capital flight” more than it already has under the previous mayor, and the city’s deterioration, due to the insatiable yet unproductive money-pits of graft and corruption from the special-interest groups that voted Blasio in, will become too obvious to hide. If only those fleeing to freer air (i.e.: red states and well-run cities) don’t take their leftist voting practices with them . . .

  11. If it’s dangerous for horses to work in the city, then:
    1) I assume that the NYPD Mounted Patrol will be promptly disbanded. No more police on horseback; save the horses!
    2) Riding bicycles is surely at least as dangerous as horses on the streets. No more bicycles in the city (especially bike messengers); save the bikers!
    3) Pedestrians take their lives in their hands every time they step off a sidewalk in NYC. It’s time to do away with this outmoded, inefficient method of travel. Henceforth, all streets and avenues in NYC will have pedestrian barricades placed in the middle of the block; trips of more than 1 block must be done by taxi, bus, or subway.
    4) “antique-style electric cars” are a suitable replacement? WTF? Just what kind of cars is he talking about? The 1915 model of the Chevy Volt, or the 1912 Prius? It sounds like what he plans is to get some fake trolley cars on rubber wheels. Yeah, that’s exactly what was carrying people through the Central Park 100 years ago….. and couples interested in a romantic evening will surely flock to the chance to sit on a crowded pseudo-trolley while pan-handlers roam the aisles.
Why doesn’t the Mayor-elect just come right out and tell the truth – he doesn’t give a damn about tourism, tradition, or jobs. What matters is that HE, THE MAYOR, IS ALL POWERFUL. BOW BEFORE ZOD.

  12. Like any socialist from Trudeau on. This guy will begin with destroying every tradition that makes a place unique.
Its shows off his power, as well disheartens the populace.
It than begins a down ward spiral of the city.
NY will become just another Detroit.
A town of scavengers of the crony left. depopulation will than begin.
The real outcome of their strategy for gutting the City to engorge themselves with tax dollars while funding friends.
In this case for voting this known radical NY deserves its fate.
I said the same for Alberta voting in a known socialist UN shill.

  13. All politicians feel the need to leave a legacy behind them. All rational rules and regulations have been on the books for decades now so all that’s left is irrational and stupid rules pertaining to social engineering. The legacy is all important to them and the only way to enjoy the power trip that politicians all seem to long for. Blasio got in with 17% voter turnout. People get what they can’t be bothered to vote for. Hope they enjoy the apathy.

  14. New York: Getting what they voted for, good and hard.
With any luck Blasio will beat Mayor Dinkins economic efforts. Dinkins is famous for being the mayor who almost bankrupted New York City.

  15. Ofaycat, not sure what your point is but you are dangerously close to giving leftoids a reason to call you a racist jerk. I might even agree with them.

  16. Legacy? Well, NYC has an emergency measures plan, or set of plans, and actually implementing some of the
recommendations would be a good idea. The part of the plan which has been published and which I have
seen, deals with bad storms in the Bight of New York. It was written in 2008, but it describes Bad Storm Sandy
    perfectly.
