Bin Laden is Dead And Ambassador Stephens Is Dead

Had Obama followed Truman, we’d be speaking Japanese right now;

Al-Qaeda in Iraq-recently rebranded, after a merger with its Syrian affiliate, as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant-has already been displaying formidable capabilities, given that it now seems to set off a major explosion at least once a week. The raid to free imprisoned al-Qaeda members-which featured complex, military-style maneuvers-is a further sign of its strength. And of course with the aid of the newly released terrorists, al-Qaeda in Iraq will only get stronger still.

Related …estimates of the death toll from the Syrian Civil War – 83,000 to 110,000 – are now reaching the low end of the Iraq War casualties; by the time the bloodbath over there ends, it may surpass the death toll from the Iraq War.

  1. The Sunnis. No wait, Shiite. Er. Maybe the Sunni. Ah screw it. Nuke em all and let God/Allah sort it out.

  2. Why would I care about the death toll in Syria? Cannot see how that death toll is even worth the life of one of our guys.

  3. Yeah well, I have pondered this at length.
    What ta do….
Isolationism didn’t work out so well….
    Intervention has had mixed results…..
I still include a prayer that no harm should come to the Kenyon in the White House.
Selfish I know…..but I just can’t bear the very thought of an Obama Freeway, an Obama International Airport, an Obama National monument…….

  4. With Afghanistan, the Americans should have bombed it to toothpicks until the last guy standing agreed to not allow terrorists to use the country as a base. End of story. Why are we the only ones fighting with rules? Otherwise leave all these countries alone.

  5. May exceed? Certainly will exceed. But it is only a bad thing when it is a US war led by a Republican President.

  6. The U.S., which has expended so much blood and treasure in Iraq, has been little more than a hand-wringing bystander to this worsening situation, our leverage severely limited by President Obama’s failure to reach an agreement that could have kept U.S. forces there past 2011.
Thanks, I’ll take minimum leverage with minimum bloodshed over the WAR FOREVER option favored by the neocon set and Obama, who actually tried to negotiate to keep American forces in Iraq forever but thankfully failed. The author is welcome to go to Iraq and Rambo his way to victory.

  7. These are the guys LAS hopes “puts Gadhafi’s stolen armories to good use”. Easily referenced in the SDA archives.
First LAS defends Obamba’s murder of thousands of Libyan’s along with the release of Gadhafi’s weapons to Al Qaeda in Syria and the Sudan. Then defends John McCain’s support of the Syrian “Rebels” aka Al Qaeda in Syria, and then he talks about Neo Cons and the Affirmative Action democrat pretending to be a president as “WAR MONGERS” – whaaaaaat ever.

  8. It should be noted that Knight is a pathological liar who’d get lost in the short bus he routinely rides that is all.
defends John McCain’s support of the Syrian “Rebels”
I dare you to find where I did this you lying tard.

  9. Let’s see Pres. Obama blamed the Benghazi terrorist attack on a Christian(Copt).
Will he try that subterfuge again? Or rather, when?
The Islamist jihadis are slaughtering Christians in Syria.
Who will Obama send weapons to?

  10. LAS >
“dare you to find where I did this you lying tard.”
    Dare?
Are you denying supporting the Syrian Rebels on SDA?

  11. This is a second round skirmish in a Muslim civil war that has been brewing for a long time.
The Shia and the Sunni have a long, long history. Layer on
Persian vs Arab vs Turk and you have a time bomb.
Round one was the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya and Egypt.
The third round will suck in Iraq.
Round four will be the First Muslim Civil War.
Coming soon to a Middle East in turmoil.

“Why are you wasting time and space on this pipsqueak…”
Sorry, just a little bored. Its cheap entertainment watching the marbles run around his head when cornered.
Anyway I’m actually with “north_of_60” on this one, who cares what they do to each other.
My stance is that we should be out of it all. That said, they should get the hell out of our countries in return. No more work or student visa’s, no more immigration, and deportations for all those that break our laws.
They want us out – we should get out, but we’re out all the way!

  13. It will be easy to spot the face of Obama on Mount Rushmore. He’ll be the one with the big ears.

  14. I’m in agreement with K99. Get completely out of their countries and don’t let ’em come here.
Sell weapons to both sides so they kill each other faster.

  15. north_of_60 >
    Yup 100%.
What all the mentally ill Obamba Liberals fail to understand is that not only have we imported many millions of them, we have left our borders wide open, as per Liberal program.
One of two things happen, or both, while we bomb the crap out of their towns and villages. First, they are all over our backyards now thanks to the Liberal left. Second, if and when they do start guerilla warfare full scale in our backyards, it’s all the excuse Obamba and company will need to impose Martial law.
Lets all take a big fat guess who will be on the receiving end of that?

  16. Had Obama followed Truman, we’d be speaking Japanese right now;

    I am stealing that!

  17. Seems that the US has just made more enemies and the best thing would have been to have not gone into Iraq in the first place. Remember some rather heated online discussions I had in 2002 when I was accused of being anti-American for making the point that the US generally leaves its allies stranded whenever there’s a change in administrations in the US. Exactly what I predicted has happened. It’s a big step for people in Iraq to have gone over to the US side and now they’re left without support. Doesn’t do much for the morale of those US soldiers who convinced them that the US side was the right one to be on.
WRT Iraq, the logical thing, although this seems to be unknown in the US government, would have been to kept a substantial military presence in Iraq after dividing the country into Kurdish, Sunni and Shia sections. The southern Shia’s could be left alone aside from being shot if they attempted to interfere with shipments of oil. Having US military forces next to Iran on both sides would likely greatly dampen the desire of the Iranians to create mischief. Kurds backed the US and the US finally won over the Sunni’s. Of course Obozo threw away all of this hard work done by US soldiers.
The Syrian civil war is one that we should have absolutely nothing to do with unless the wrong side wins; in this case look for Israel to bomb the military of Syria back into the stone age. It’s best to let the fanatics on either side blow themselves up in large numbers with the expectation that the average IQ of the population will be slightly increased in the process.

  18. Why FDR?
Truman et al launched Enola Gay on 6 August 1945.
    FDR passed 12 April 1945.

  19. Knight 99, deporting Muslims would be an excellent idea, but just that won’t remove the threat.
Maybe after Christendom and Israel get serious about fighting the Islamic menace—and win—the civilized world will have the luxury of being able to ignore the fratricidal feuds of the few thousand survivors of the Muslim horde waiting for extinction on their reservation. First things first—the threat posed by Islam to Christian civilization must be removed, once and for all.
God granted us the use of the very power with which He created the heavens and the earth to cow the Japanese. Clearing out the nests of Muslims throughout the land of Israel, from the Nile to the Tigris, would with a few well-placed hydrogen bombs, take a matter of hours. All it would rakr is for us to insist on rulers who did what was just in the eyes of the Lord and feared Him more than Islam. What, I would ask if I didn’t know better, are they waiting for?

  20. Gosh, DS… that sounds exactly like what the Muzzies are saying when you substitute Allah for God and Muslims for Israelis in your rant.

  21. WRT Iraq, the logical thing, although this seems to be unknown in the US government, would have been to kept a substantial military presence in Iraq after dividing the country into Kurdish, Sunni and Shia sections.
That seemed like an obvious choice to me as well. Unfortunately the US doesn’t always do the smartest thing.
That’s to be expected in a system that chooses leaders like prom royalty , not like valedictorians.

  22. It is amazing how many people have as yet not received the message of 9/11 (let alone of 1492). To wit: the Muslims came after us (or at least the Americans) when we were leaving them alone. Islam is, off and on, extremely aggressive, with a long collective memory. They still want payback for being ousted from Spain. They have not forgotten the massive defeat by Jan Sobieski III and his troops in front of the gates of Vienna (9/11-12/ 1683)(young Moslems in Vienna still go to the national museum to look at Mustafa Pasha’s tent – and nothing else).
Before saying “we should disengage” one should read about the Barbary pirates http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbary_pirates, and of course the early history of Islam (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Islam has its points but is propagandistic). My own conclusion is that disengagement is not possible. They’re stuck to us like a tarbaby.

  23. The problems with unfettered bloodshed are the native Christian and religious minority populations and Israel. Israel would have to go it alone if we backed out completely. There is no winning in that region so our involvement should be setting up a medical tent for wounded children, support for Israel and allowing Christian immigration.
    Just my thoughts.

  24. @ John Lewis
Following the complete failure of your ideology, the only thing that crazed neocons like yourself can offer nowadays are vacuous admonitions to “receiving the message of 9/11”
What is, pray tell, this message of 9/11, oh enlightened one?
The message of 9/11 was that the Americans spent more than 3 trillion dollars to bring “democracy”, “gay rights” or whatever bulls#it it is that they were trying to bring to Iraq.
And what is it that the stupid Yanks have to show for it?
A couple hundred al Qaeda terrorists roaming the streets after breaking out of the prison.

  25. “Why FDR?
Truman et al launched Enola Gay on 6 August 1945.
    FDR passed 12 April 1945.”
I presume Kate’s analogy is meant to suggest Obama would have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
If so, it makes for a better analogy to use FDR. When he died in April 1945, Imperial Japan was still holding out. Truman’s bombs clinched the Japanese surrender; anyone replacing Truman, no matter how useless, would have had a fait accompli on their hands.
It makes Kate’s allusion too weak.

  26. This is a ‘gas’! Please excuse the pun. Iraq & the Levant. The Sunnis don’t have enough people in Iraq so they are incorporating the Sunni majority in Syria to boost their numbers so they can take over the oil fields in southern Iraq. All very neat. I don’t really care other than it should firm up Canadian crude oil pricing.
The Saudis are masterminding all this anyways. Harper had better not open the doors to the inevitable influx of refugees that this will create.

  27. Dick Slater >
“deporting Muslims would be an excellent idea, but just that won’t remove the threat.”
    No but it’s a start.
Obviously the current course we’re on is not working.
We don’t need military might to destroy Islam, we need tactics. We need Islam to destroy Islam, or at the very least the people who live within the global Islamic communities.
What we HAVE is Economic and Technical POWER. They can’t exist in any proper modern capacity without it.
An example would be food and medicine, if they aren’t getting it from the west they are starving and dying from diseases that we regularly provide for. They don’t build ships, luxury cars, computers etcetera without us.
It’s not hard to put Islamic countries in line and turn them on each other, they will do it at the best of times, but will readily do so in hardship times.
