On-Air Environmental Discussion (Bumped)

For those interested, Roy Green will be having two superb guests on his show today:

Those without a Corus station in their community can listen in here.
This will provide some counterbalance to the unprogressive usual suspects who truly would love to shut down Canada’s energy industry tomorrow if they could.

  1. I intend to listen to that and see what Joe Oliver has to say. It would be great if they could speed up those Gateway hearings.

  2. It is interesting that this is the first instance of the enviros latest red herring.
Comparing foreign investment in oil Sands development to foreign seditious funding….
They seem to think this somehow justifies obvious, blatant filibustering of the revue process.
It is almost as clever a ploy as picking CO2 as a hazardous emission….and doomed to the same fate.
Much like the Palestinians who openly state they don’t want peace but the destruction of Isreal, these envirofascists just can’t keep from reveiling their end goal is to close down not just the pipeline(s), and the oil sands but ANY energy resource exploitation.
Their stated goal is no oil, no gas, no coal, no nuclear, and no hydro dams….in fact the Seirra crowd’s stated goal is not just to prevent building dams but to remove existing dams, “so the rivers can flow free (picture a hippy with hairy legs, piroueting, wearing a tutu).
We know what they have in mind…
    ….exactly what Minister Oliver stated…
    ….because they have told us.

  3. I have to bring this point up.
A couple of years ago at Copenhagen, there was oodles of closed door meetings. The press was not allowed.
There was not oodles of questions about this,in fact it was let slide, completely. No one was protesting outside the meetings. No reporters were seeking out the unwashed. The unwashed were not seeking out the media. They all sat in silence and acknowledged each other’s presence and knew they were on the side of righteousness.
A sham.A show of incestuous defect. If I had a rocket launcher, these son of a bitches would be dead.

  4. Some MORON just called into Roy’s show from Winnipeg and said that he didn’t see how the Northern Gateway Pipeline would help him “or the other 99%”.
Isn’t it sad/pathetic that Leftards truly don’t understand how all their beloved social programs are funded.

  5. Robert, yes I heard that and the woman from I think Vancouver wasn’t a whole lot better.
Joe did not say a whole lot except that the government recognizes the threat, but then I did not expect him to as I do not think the government can do a whole lot about the established process for the Gateway hearings. But, they have to make changes for future hearings. Roy Green said the hearings system needs to be abolished and I agree with that.
James Delingpole did a great job of explaining the “watermelon” movement.

The Left will lie, cheat, steal, obfuscate/do anything, to promote their agenda, because, well, it just FEELS like the right thing to do.
Why should facts and common sense get in the way of FEELINGS?

Haven’t seen the Georgia “Straight” in years.
Now I need a bath in pure Pine-Sol to get the stench off, what an awful infestation of LGBT BS

  8. Anybody know anything about this gang, and who finances them? http://www.albertasurfacerights.com/
Website has a distinctly Leftish flavour to it. They seem to based in Trochu, but I have never met anyone who admits to belonging to it. They now have a big anti-frac’ing billboard (misspelled, of course) made from a semi-trailer alongside Highway 21 near its intersection with Hwy. 27 westbound.

  9. Well, Robert, the article on that Website indicates that Don Bester is a founder of the “Butte Alliance” and does not reference albertasurfacerights.org directly at all.
But both Web sites reek of a sort of naive populism/libertarianism, with some links to the Larouche crowd.

“Gord, a Don Bester appears to be the one behind that website. Here’s an article about him.”
In the water article, I can see a concern about Lethbridge because the water comes out of the mountains and the rest is pretty much desert. The concern in the south is not primarily about watering cattle, it is irrigating land to grow hay. All water available is pretty much allocated already.
In the north there is absolutely no water concern as rivers keep growing as they get farther from the mountains. Too much rain is the agriculture problem in the north. In oil extraction water is separated and reinjected, almost total re-use.
