As the rest of Canada celebrates the nation’s 142nd birthday today, a Vice President of the Canadian Arab Federation has labelled the country a “genocidal state” and the described its national day as “F**k Canada Day.”
Omar Shaban, who lives in Vancouver, BC made these comments on his Facebook page, declaring, “It’s finally Canada Day … Couldn’t be more ashamed to be Canadian.”
Yesterday, the Facebook status of the CAF vice president welcomed July 1, 2009 with the slogan, “Happy Genocide Day Canada.”
Paul the language can be faulty but it’s the thought that counts. You have the right to express your opinion any way you can or want to. I for one will listen.

The CAF had their nose taken out of the PIG trough a few months ago for supporting terrorist groups. Kudos to Kenney and the conservatives for that one. Their argument for holding their spot in the PORK barrel was that they were a group that was helping Arabs assimilate into the Canadian lifestyle. I think they were lying. Kate, not only have you never criticized Canada’s open immigration policy but some of your guest bloggers have explicitly written in support of it, saying we need record levels of immigration – during a recession, apparently – to sustain our “free” “health” “care” and such, and your commentariat (average age: 73) seems to be nearly unanimously in favour of it.
Paul Martin-era polls show that nearly 90% of Canadians thought Liberal levels of immigration were too high or about right; Harper’s government has increased that number. There seems to be an unusually large gap between bloggers and the Canadian people – or “trolls”, as you refer to us – on immigration.
I shouldn’t single you out, though, because there would seem to be 500+ political blogs in Canada of some repute and none of them have ever criticized our open immigration system, not even once. You’re no better or worse than the rest on this issue.

I think we should demand loyalty oaths from all Muslim people (not Arabs). They should pledge absolute subservience to the Canadian government. e)Apparently, seditious behaviour, whereby a call to murder fellow Canadian citizens, in uniform or not, is not a crime.
