Big Oil’s wanton climate destruction continues with the removal of three potential carbon sinks from the Atlantic;
An expedition team which set sail from Plymouth on a 5,000-mile carbon emission-free trip to Greenland have been rescued by an oil tanker.
[…]
The expedition was followed by up to 40 schools across the UK to promote climate change awareness.

That’s just priceless 🙂
It’s like when it snows when global warming committees meet.
This is rich, rich, rich. Nice catch, Kate. This a a grasshopper/ant story – featured in all the right colors.
Darn it more greenies flee the melting. What will the furry critters eat. On the other hand they were safe all along. Once on Lineham Ridge I was saved from an angry Grizzlie Gia godess by showing my WWF paid up card;it works.
Maybe, as a sign of gratitude for their lives being saved, they buy carbon credits for the ship and its cargo.
On the other all the eco-jihadi greenies I know are hard core socialists, so they only spend other people’s money.
I melted in laughter when I heard this story.
Then I stood strong, straight and erect when I saw the Irony.
Then I got wet when I pissed myself larfing.
I await the Catelin “salvation” via evil airlift.
Let’s see how the ice sea is progressing:

hehehe
Just think these are the clueless fools who would love to ram their horsecrap eco agenda down our throats. On the other hand I hope that they weren’t ferrying supplies to that other Arctic expedition that no one has heard from lately.
“An expedition team which set sail from Plymouth on a 5,000-mile carbon emission-free trip to Greenland have”
Irony, and a chance to laugh at the supposedly literate writers at the BBC.
I did not get the joke at first, but this line is hilarious “Big Oil’s wanton climate destruction continues with the removal of three potential carbon sinks from the Atlantic”.
LOL
From their boasting in the original article before they set sail: “Return journeys are in the true spirit of expeditions, and essential if this is to be carbon neutral.”
Ah sweet irony.
Somebody should leave a big old carbon footprint on their three arses.
Absolutely delicious. Hope those 40 schools learned the right lessons from this.
Lets show the world how reliable wind power, solar power and man power is. I wonder what the 40 schools learned from this futile exercise? I can answer that and so can you – NOTHING!
Any project that describes itself as a carbon emission-free enterprise but involves humans is a fraud, all live humans emit carbon dioxide. While it must be admitted that these idiots were brain dead that still does not qualify as carbon emission free. Even though Uhhbama thinks CO2 is a pollutant.
But the real question remains who would be so stupid as to sponsor this self-indulgent stunt?
Visit their website carbonneutralexpeditions.com to learn that these eco-nuts are not above taking money from school children to indulge their fantasies.
Speaking of that other expedition….. what’s happened to that story??
Hmmmmm….
Cascadian, actually, what I hope they learned is that this whole carbon-phobia crowd are a bunch of dorks and we can quit paying them any attention now.
This was a trip the Vikings would have aced many times, also using only wind and human power. Of course, they weren’t trying to survive on tofu and kelp and they had more than hot air in their heads. Oh, and they were making the trip for real reasons.
The only thing that might have been sweeter is if they had anointed each rescued crew member with bunker seed. 🙂
I put this in the same column as when earlier this spring a call went out to SUV owners in the Washington DC area to help medical staff get to work during a snow storm.
Really is amazing how people this stupid have not proven Darwinian evolution, oh wait we “saved them” sorry that was our bad!
Who is going to pay for the fuel the tanker used to reach them and for that matter the carbon credits to offset their ride? Hard to claim a carbon free trip without an indulgence.
I was looking for some up to date news on Catlin and found this :
Remarkably Free of AGW Hype !
Remarkably free from stupidity as well.
So, do Suzuki and Gore think the oil-burning Captain is a criminal for wasting fossil fuel on a rescue mission ? Three potential carbon sinks, hilarious !.
Think of all the good that could have come from “environmentalists” if they gave the same effort to clean water, landfill waste, recycling and third world pollution over the last 39 years since the first Earth day.
All noble causes with very measurable results.
Instead, these idiots left a boat to further pollute the sea.
Idiots. Idiots.
Want to be carbon neutral? Fine. Sit at home in the dark and cold reading a book.
Want to go to Greenland? Bring a bigger boat.
You would think Someone purpously deep sixes all the plans of the Human global warming community.
Sadly Louise we can never quit paying attention to these dorks. These Dorks now occupy the highest offices in the world Uhhbama has decreed that carbon dioxide is a pollutant! Consider that statement and the outstanding stupidity of it!
What follows is that we will be taxed for any carbon dioxide producing activity, that of course includes any manufacturing, transportation and heating activity. Be afraid, be very afraid the dorks are not just harming themselves (I would be OK with that) they want to harm us all, and will tax us so that they can redistribute the taxes to their favoured schemes-usually socialism.
Recued by an oil tanker?
bwahahahahah!!!
I have not laughed that hard in weeks!
I meant rescued not recued.
Bush stole my “S” obviously…
There IS hope…they reportedly thanked captain and crew for saving them.
Obviously NOT true environauts!
Eric the Red is laughing his ass off in Valhalla…
dang:
Why would the grizzlies care if you’re a member of the World Wrestling Federation?
The polar bear were busy elsewhere 😉
Whatever Deity covers this area has a helluva sense of humor.
Proof of God, Revnant Dream. Every time these tards and their willing accomplices in the MSM get some traction, SHAZAM! the big guy slams us with a big snowfall or 40 below, and they still don’t get it, shows the depth of their stupidity these Gorebots and Suzukers. To bad these charlstans are getting rich lying and we are getting nothing for knowing the truth.
Captain Aubrey must be rolling in his grave.
Obvious (and hillarious) irony aside, You know the Vikings would make it cause they were going to rape and pillage, and there was no way they were going to miss out on the fun. Pretty strong incentive.
The Vikings didn’t make those Greenland treks to rape and pillage.
Eric the Red had to find a new place to live. Reality was a strong incentive to him and his crew.
I hope they’ll be getting a bill for the cost of the rescue operation and the cleanup of the debris they left behind.
Today we’re also learning about editing :
“aimed to rely on sail, solar and man power on a 580-mile (933km/h) journey”
The captain should have refused to let them board, so as to preserve their dignity and ethical integrity. Better to be a proud dead martyr than be a living laughingstock.
“Really is amazing how people this stupid have not proven Darwinian evolution, oh wait we “saved them” sorry that was our bad!”
Exactly! If the shoe was on the other foot, would the envioro-nazi’s rescue the oil ship crew?
btw, I thought BEER was the proof that god existed and loved us.
beer does more than Milton can
to justify the ways of God to man….
It reminds me of how woodland caribou feed from the land cleared by BigOil, as well as consuming the salt from produced water and taking advantage of the artificial heat sources the industry provides… WHILE leftists cry about how the oil industry equals death to caribou populations.
If I spill crude oil on the ground here, environmentalists cry about the “pollution” and force the company to clean every drop at great expense. Fine. When the same company removes the exact same oil that naturally exists on the ground 300kms east at the Fort Mac oil sands for a profit, leftists try to pretend THIS IS ALSO a crime against the environment.
What a bunch of cake eaters…
What a bunch of cake eaters…
do you mean muffins?
That seems to be their raison d’etre – pointless exercises and sacrifice for naught.
could have capped that carbon by letting them become fish food.
not entirely related to the story but relevant to y2kyoto, just saw an interview on cbcnw politics show, Sask. and Montana are teaming up to do carbon capture.
Sigh… as much as we like to think that things are turning around, they really aren’t. Politicians continue to keep the blinders on and as usual only care about votes, they don’t care about truth, facts, logic, reason, etc. Even during crap economic times, Alberta still has $2 billion earmarked for carpon capture R&D.
Fools all.
