Stephen Taylor takes a closer look at Options Canada and spots something the Globe & Mail may have overlooked;
“The report also states that Option Canada may have been a “bogus firm,” set up by its parent organization, the Council for Canadian Unity, to avoid problems with Revenue Quebec and Revenue Canada.”

The Globe & Mail may have overlooked something in the story. Take heart, here in Southwestern Ontario the London Free Press hasn’t even heard of the story, let alone carry it on their pages.
I’m curious as to how the Council for Canadian Unity stays afloat?

Mounties asked to probe Grit lobbyist
By TOM GODFREY, TORONTO SUN
The RCMP has been asked to probe a Liberal consultant over a $380,000 contract she was awarded to lobby Ottawa for funds for the ailing firearms registry.
The five-month contract was awarded by the justice department to Kim Doran in March 2003 to lobby the federal solicitor general, Treasury Board and Privy Council, according to a detailed lobbyist report.
At the time, Doran was representing the Coalition for Gun Control. The group, which receives both government and private funding, claims to represent anti-gun groups and municipalities. It is a strong supporter of the gun registry.
Funding for the registry was threatened after it was slammed by the auditor general for costing taxpayers $1 billion.
“The whole thing smells of corruption and cronyism,” said Tony Bernardo, of the Canadian Shooting Sports Association.
12,000 MEMBERS
He said his organization, which has 12,000 paid members, should also get government funding for a consultant to lobby on behalf of gun owners. The group yesterday asked the RCMP to probe the matter.
“It is inappropriate for the federal government to hire a private lobbyist with taxpayers’ dollars to lobby itself,” they complained to the RCMP. “It is also very inappropriate for an employee of the Liberal party to profit from funds granted by the government of Canada.”
Doran is listed as vice-president of federal affairs for the Liberals’ Ontario women’s commission and is also the party’s deputy national director of organization and policy. She couldn’t be reached for comment.

MSM still staying away from the trips to disneyland. maybe Mansbridge was on one.
with 25000$ you dont have to book the 4 day discount passes.
Does the Council For Canadian Unity have a chapter in Alberta, or aren’t they concerned about Alberta Separatists?
Im not holding my breath waiting for the fwench to arrive in Alberta waving the Canadian Flag begging us Westerners to stay in Canada.
Is there a link to the Doran story?
CTV is not mentioning that options Canada ended up on the ‘no’ side in the neferious ‘referendum’. Did I read incorrect information or did Options not end up backing the ‘no’ side? If they did support the ‘nos’ this must have been a little divide and conquer tactic to keep us minnions milling around in circles. Sickening.
This is like digging for turnips in a septic field, you never know just kind of shit will turn up.
How in heaven voters can hear or read about this stuff and still believe that the Lieberals are the “only option”, I’ll never know.
as little i have read so far, it appears, if options canada was proven to be on the no side campaign then all caca will erupt.
Last night on Duffy (I think it was…) they did say that the money did go to the ‘No’ side, and Duceppe said that’s why they’ve been screaming about this since ’95, to no avail until this book was due to be released.
