Looking For A Good Man

A blogging sysadmin in the Edmonton area is looking for work.

In the meantime, if your company is looking for an experienced sysadmin with numerous technical certifications and excellent references, please drop me a line. I’m expert with Windows 2000/2003 administration, Active Directory, Exchange Server, and Windows Sharepoint Services. I also have a lot of experience with both Microsoft ISA Server and configuring PIX firewalls. I am banging the dents out of my old resume and will have it available shortly for anyone who expresses interest. Relocation is a possibility for the right position.

  1. It doesn’t look like a full time gig but Andrew Coyne still has his blog redesign “want-ad” posted. Not a career but probably a little cash in your downtime.

  2. Hmmmm…. we don’t do windows here, and aren’t currently hiring, but I’ll check around. If I remember correctly, the Dell call center was suppose to be expanding, might be worth his while to look into the tech/admin end of it.

  3. Not really, they moved India here…… kidding…. 😉

Dell found they had a communication problem….. DUH! … so they wanted to move a call center back to N.A., so because of the Compaq or HP center, can’t remember the name, never been there(part of the Nait, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology), and the low tax rates and burning economy, they decided to locate an operation here.

A lot of companies have picked up on this as well, and your seeing a lot of call centers springing up in smalltown USA as well, and for the same reasons.

I’d be happy to work in a Linux shop if I could find one (I’m certified on Linux as well). Ten years of supporting Microsoft products has done unsavory things to my disposition.
Kate, thanks for the link, much appreciated.
