The writers who supplied the information I quoted in “Keeping St. Boniface In Winnipeg” have their own blog. Welcome The Black Rod to your blogrolls.
This teaser:
We’re referring to the marijuana grow-operation found in the home owned by David Basi, the assistant to B.C.’s finance minister, and a member of the Young Liberals who campaigned for Mr. Dithers during his bid for party leadership. That home was located on Shawinigan Lake.
Holy Shawiniganman, Scotty! Quelle coincidence!
I’ve been pretty busy the last couple of weeks – if you’ve sent me an email about a new Canadian blog, and I’ve missed it, my apologies. Drop it in the comments, send me another, or trackback to this post.
Maybe a “Carnival of the Newbies” is in order. Except it needs a more fitting title.
Yeah. Let’s do that. Send them to me this week, and I’ll put up the inaugural post.

Ummm, just a quick note to Black Rod that I think the lake in BC you’re referring to is Shawnigan Lake NOT Shawinigan Lake. Also, it’s located on Vancouver Island, not Surrey.
If that’s not what you’re referring to then I apologize. BTW, I checked out the Black Rod blog and that’s a great posting! Keep it up! I’ll be sure to visit on a regular basis. Any friend of Kate’s is a friend of mine!

Calgary Guy enjoys seeing lib-left moonbats squirm when their arguments fall apart…
Kate, this blog isn’t Canadian but it’s such a good read I thought I’d pass it along anyway. They take humourous and satirical shots at the academic left, feminism, multiculturalism, post modernists, etc. If you’ve been longing for good satire since Satire Wire went dead, you’ll probably like this site. Right now, they’re running a Horrible College Student Poetry Competition.

Here’s a sample:
If we, the crack young staff of The Hatemongers Quarterly, love anything, its horrid poems penned by moronic college students. To the connoisseur of cant, collegiate balladry offers a smorgasbord of delights: Tin-eared ineptness; mindless self-puffery; ghastly political clichs; &c.
As a result, dear reader, it is with great anticipation that we, the crack young staff of The Hatemongers Quarterly, announce our Official Second Annual Hatemongers Quarterly Horrible College-Student Poetry Competition. We are officially calling upon you to offer up the most gut-wrenching imitation of disastrous college doggerel.
Hey!
What ever happened to blackrod? (the email I got from him the other day made me laff so hard I almost tossed my cookies!)
Am picturing Howard Cruton, laying nude on a bed of fresh tissuepaper, toenails uncut for years, wearing shoes made of kleenex boxes, designing a girdle for Elenor Craplan !?! Is that kinky, or what?)
I’m Canadian but my weblog is mostly lightweight stuff for now (work, sci-fi and the occasional gadget). I do have many political posts, but they are mostly link posts to other blogs, with added commentary time and again. I serve as a sort of “mini-news aggregator” for my circle of friends. 🙂

Canadian individual tired of the state that we’ve been left in due to lib-left rule. Fighting back. Looking at making Kinsella a pet project.

Shameless plug: potentpew.blogspot.com
my claim to fame is probably that I am going to do running poll aggregates…that is, combine the latest polls to get a more accurate description of the Canadian mood. I am also doing this and plugging the numbers into the seat calculator by region, to predict how much these polls would translate into seats.
Other than that, this is a group blog. We plan on focusing a lot on law, technology, and just western civilization in general.

My (Canadian) blog is at http://www.kyid.net
I wouldn’t call it a place I rant on politics a lot, though I link to a decent amount of other people who rant about politics. My site is mainly personal in nature, so I am not sure it is of too much interest to many other people 🙂
But it is there for the reading if people want 🙂
I just heard about this one – provides sample letters & emails to MPs, gives a pretty indepth timeline on the scandals (don’t read right after eating, messes with the digestive processes).
