    I saw Alice Cooper`s FIRST Cdn performance at Varsity Stadium (long since demolished), Bloor Street, T.O., 1969. He introduced the set as a `science fiction thriller`. my buddy said he saw posters for Woodstock there.
    It was also Johnny Winter`s 1st Cdn performance (gawd, I never knew someone could play guitar that fast). Johnny closed the concert the first night. I saw him 2 more times in subsequent years, last time 2008. RIP Johnny wherever you are.
    The next year, some s.o.b. made off with the ticket receipts before the concert so there was none.

  9. The standoff between QR77 talk radio in Calgary and the Wildrose Party continues.
    QR refuses to interview the WR as they haven’t ‘forgiven’ floor crosser and now QR ‘star’ Danielle Smith. The Wild Rosers wont go on her show so the tall foreheads at QR wont let them on any show.
    Case in point – last Friday the province released the results of the royalty review. QR went live to the news conference and then did interviews with the head of the review, government and even the leader of the Alberta Party but no WRosers – the official opposition.
    QR needs to get a wake up call here. Maybe some of their larger advertisers need to speak to them. The Ford guy with the fake fight with Rachael Notley’s government would be a good start.

  10. my expectation is once the big money boys get total control of gubbamint, property tax increases will be in the range of 10,000 to 50,000 percent, NOT including inflation. the huge general populace that lost any stake in the land long ago, will hardly notice, and the ones that do will cluck in harmony at whatever the excuse is, hoping to be `noticed` for their loyalty to the bosses.
    who will then be able to grab up those final remaining privately held postage stamp sized areas at stress sale prices, whereupon, surprise, surprise, the tax rate plummets like never before.
    ANYTHING can happen in politics, and money talks.
    we`re headed for a society where the uber elites are so removed from the front lines, the swirling masses don`t even know a thing about them, and vice versa. no press, no free internet, fenced high security hidden residential areas, etc etc. all controls done remotely and arms length. E-V-E-R-Y MOVE monitored and recorded. just watch.

  11. Hey Kate, you choice of music is really surprising girl…Cooper’s best work (And the stuff he still plays the most) is from his original band.
    Love it to Death and Killer especially are album masterpieces of early glam/shock rock, School’s out is great but starts to show a defanged Alice…Billion Dollar Babies was chock full of hits but the Coop was almost mainstream at that point, the band collapsed after the OK “Muscle of Love”…I never much liked Welcome to my Nightmare being too Hollywood tongue in cheek for my taste.
    As a kid in Laval Qc at the time, we played Elected on the jukebox of a
    small pizzeria hangout so many times
    and so loud (We knew were the hidden volume button was) that he took the 45
    out and broke it. Our mothers all thought we were going mad…Good times with Alice.

  13. Ever since QR pulled the rug from under Dave Rutherford and earlier, Charles Adler, it has been on a downward slide. I once advertised rather heavily on 770 when they were a conservative voice. I’m retired now, but if I were still looking for media buys, QR would not be a consideration. They have the man-boys in the morning now, some left-wingnut at night and Danielle (boring) Smith in the afternoons. No hard news, no weighty issues, no controversy. Just fluff.
    Once upon a time I had them on 6am to 3pm. Now, hardly ever.
    They’ve shot themselves in the foot.

  18. Agreed. Those that said they would quit are simply full of sh*t. Those that said they would consider quitting are being disingenuous. Either way, they wouldn’t quit even if Idi Amin was elected President.
    Number 1, they make too much money for very little effort and, Number 2, what would they do in lieu of receiving a big, fat paycheque every two weeks? Most lack the basic qualifications, experience and work ethic to survive in the real world.

    gubbamint LOSES that legitimacy when THIS kind of thing occurs regularly with NO CONSEQUENCES to those PEOPLE in ‘gubbamint’ committing these atrocities. and corruption like adscam. and the ‘greening’ of Ontario, an abysmal failure engulfed in lies and cover up.
    is there NO ONE ‘in charge’, NO ONE carrying out these FLAWED ‘tests’ that ever says, wait a minute, there’s something wrong here. there’s a better way. answer: a resounding NO. because they are afraid to ‘rock the boat’ because a big rule in gubbamint is if you ‘rock the boat’, the full weigh of gubbamint (your colleagues and supervisors) will land on YOU because YOU put them in a bad light, thereby jeopardizing that elusive thing called ‘legitimacy’.
    and they ALL do it because it is humahn nature. goes way beyond any issue of ideology. Ideology only dictates priorities, it does NOT address the means to achieve those priorities, THAT is where humahn nature comes into play again. the ‘nuts and bolts’ of gubbamint. so watch out in your dealing with ANY gubbamint and remember you are dealing with PEOPLE with far more power, that collective legitimacy which gives license to a huge spectrum of abuses (each with its own set of excuses) than they can handle.

    – If all cultures are equal, why doesn’t UNESCO organize International Cannibalism Week festivals?
    – Why do those demanding “equal pay for equal work” never protest against “equal pay for little or no work”?
    – Why has no politician ever run on men’s issues or promised to improve the lives of males?
    – If all beliefs are equally valid, how come my belief in the absurdity of this maxim gets rejected by its proponents?

  27. Wonder how much he donated to Justin’s campaign — perhaps not directly, but via all those anti-Harper hate groups — LeadNow, Vote Together, unions, some group going on about anti-science. Voters are not manipulated for free and the globalists wanted Harper out. Soros money was there somewhere, and is likely part if Liberal coffers currently as Justin takes his orders.

  30. This is a first for me. I just heard a radio ad on QR77 that was prefaced by a disclaimer that “the opinions expressed in this advertisement are not necessarily those of this radio station”. That ad was by Ezra Levant (who never said his name or even Rebel Media’s name) promoting http://www.therebel.media/cutthemoff . Usually only hear such disclaimers before “paid political statements”.

  34. There’s a lot to what you say. Governments, addicted to high tax revenues, set up their programs in the expectation they can only grow. They’re more guilty than myopic business thinkers who occupy the stock markets that look at today as if that is the latest new reality, a sort of Groundhog day mentality.
    Statist governments are completely incapable of curtailing their spending and borrowing, instead clinging to the invalid view that increasing tax rates will increase tax revenues. This leaves them, and us, broke and bewildered, until they inevitably run out of our money. At least we can all be equally green and poor. A lot of freedom, treasure and wealth will be replaced with blood, sweat and tears.
    I get a good laugh when people say low oil prices are good for wind turbines and solar panels. What’s that again, your competition offers its product at lower prices, and that’s good for you?
    Actually, if one totally disregards where subsidies/tax revenues come from, (aka, the statist axiom) it actually makes sense to them, especially given their math illiteracy, infantile economic beliefs and rigid imperviousness to reality and common sense.

  44. Saw the Welcome to my nightmare tour, sorry I never got to see the original band, they were musically very original and generally awesome. Bob Dylan once mentioned Alice as an underrated songwriter.
