CBC’s senior business correspondent, Amanda Lang, is one of the few people on television who’s job is to inform the general public of the economy and, as such, the oil and gas industry. There are very few people on TV who understand the oil and gas industry and the markets which drive it, and after discovering a comment from Amanda Lang on the price of a crude oil futures contract, it has become clear that she is not one of them.
No big surprise there. She got the job because her daddy was a Liberal MP, not because she knew anything about economics.
I always believed Lang’s shenanigans with RBC were much more serious than Evan Solomon’s career ending art referral sins. No doubt Lang’s Federal Liberal lineage has kept her in good stead at the LBC. At the risk of sounding shallow, the uppers may also think her appearance isn’t an active turnoff for males in the audience.
The media and the LPC are like a seamless continuum.
At Mothercorp plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.
MotherCorp doesn’t deal in facts. Their job is propaganda.
Consequently, none of their talking heads have to know anything about which they are talking.

The basic/ street level mentally ill Liberal doesn’t deal in facts, truths, or performance, they deal in feelings and self absorption.
Everything else takes a backseat to personal agendas (fueled by others) based on feelings to the point where they will lie, cheat, and steal to accomplish those Agendas.

I doubt Amanda Lang even knows enough about the oil/gas industry to even fuel her own car. Just another CBC talking air-head.
With such a poor understanding of the oil industry, I’m surprised she’s not Natural Resources Minister in Alberta.
Being a CBC talking head can be a lifelong sinecure with a shot at being a senator(lifelong appointment) or even Governor General.(both pensioned positions)
Being a politician, not so much. Next general election in Alberta will see the NDP out of office, most of them won’t even get a pension.
What is particularly distressing is that there are people ‘out there’ who actually BELIEVE the shite the CBC spews as fact. I had a conversation with a retired teacher recently who was lamenting the insufficient funding for the CBC. When I pointed out to him that $1.1 billion was $3 million a day, he replied that that’s what it takes to provide ‘quality programming’. I had a hard time not laughing out loud.

I thought it was pretty much a given, if a commenter knows of what they speak, they will never be on CBC.
Their latest trend seems to be talking head interviewing “In house expert”.
Where they natter about their shared opinion/delusion and never seem to notice that almost no one in Canada is listening.
Sooner we defund this blot on the copybook the better, but CBC is just one of thousands of so called NGO’s that owe their existence to sucking the life out of the Canadian taxpayer.
I say starve them all.
Tax is a theft, however necessary, so limit this theft to 10%.
Paid locally, let the local authority pay 10% of their theft to the Province and the Province 10% to the Feds.
There will be no losers here.
As the leeches will starve or gain some self respect.
And for any real taxpayers who feel 10% is too little.. voluntary donations are yours to make.
Now we have endured weeks of this election and to date no one has even discussed the damage to society government causes.
