With friends like these.

Desperate to save face Obama inks another bad deal. Well, bad for our only allies who actually have skin in the game.

The deal between the US and Turkey which will allow American bombers to use Incirlik airbase while Turkey takes action against Islamic State (Isis) looks stranger and stranger. When first announced over a week ago, US officials spoke triumphantly of the agreement being “a game-changer” in the war against Isis. In fact, the war waged by Turkey in the days since this great American diplomatic success has been almost entirely against the Kurds, at home and abroad.

  1. The part no-one notices is that ALL US sorties must be approved by Valarie Jarrett.
Where the USAF parks it’s aircraft is irrelevant. Incirlik or Wright Pat is the same….

  2. The Kurds need to declare war on the USA, tell the Zero, “We have always been at war with Oceana.. I mean USA.”
Given the way this admin treats their allies, the best way to get favourable treatment is be an enemy.

  3. Obama / Kerry / Clinton… doesn’t matter i’m surprised these three could order food at McDonalds let alone negotiate a diplomatic treaty. It will be very interesting to see what the world looks like in January of 2017. I’m in my 6th decade so while i have a passing interest i personally don’t care all that much. My children are preparing for the worst, and looking for a safe place to escape to.

  4. Certainly Obama is radically ignorant of world affairs. However, it seems to me that he is acting, in the Middle East, not out of ignorance but out of malice – even above and beyond his evident desire to advance Islam. He seems to be psychopathic, and wishes to do as much harm to the Middle East as he possibly can. Jew, Sunni, Shia, Kurd – it is all the same to him so long as he can watch them die.
His sentiments toward the US are even more dire.

  5. Riddle me this:
    (1) Obama signs a deal with Iran, a totalitarian, theocratic, millenarian Shiite state and leading sponsor of islamic terrorism, that would make it the hegemon in the region. You might get the idea that Obama has chosen sides in the centuries-old sectarian islamic war.
    (2) Obama signs a deal with Turkey, the chief state supporter of ISIS, which Erdogan uses as cover to attack ISIS’s most effective enemy—the KURDS—instead, who happen to be effective enemies of Erdogan, and who have recently spoiled Erdogan’s political ambitions.
What is Obama up to? Playing both sides against the middle? What middle?

  6. Obama sees Islam as a peaceful religion and holds Israel and Christianity in general contempt as the worlds ship disturbers. If only Israel was gone the world would be a model closer to his own vision. His contempt for America and Israel has surfaced often by his actions as well as his destructive policies. The Koran mentions the tact of being deceitful to be accepted by the infidel. He’s done a great job of bringing the world’s only super power to its knees and is not finished yet. Destruction from within. Well disguised and well planned. Adequate number of useful idiots to carry out the plan.

  7. Nick: “What is Obama up to? Playing both sides against the middle? What middle?”
The middle is the US and her people, caught in Obama’s appeasement trap, with him concerned only with his legacy and no doubt enhanced speaking/golfing venue opportunities after his time as POTUS.
Obama’s true legacy is to be spectacularly and precisely wrong in his approach to threats against US security. Perhaps only Stalin’s ill-fated non-aggression pact with Nazi Germany can approach to overall idiocy of Obama’s diplomatic misadventures. At least Stalin was trying to buy time for a woefully unprepared Soviet military, made worse by his officer purges.
    What’s Obama’s excuse?

  8. “Obama’s true legacy is to be spectacularly and precisely wrong in his approach to threats against US security” – I woudn’t say that. If one interprets Obama’s policy as a desire to do as much harm to as many people as possible, his policy is successful – as he says it is.
Remember the accounts of his enjoyment of approving his drone hits, while quoting Bonhoeffer. He is a very creepy person – the Man with the Golden Drone. A killer by nature.
No one will ever understand Obama who does not understand his joy in killing.

  9. Please ask Turkey to come and take this turkey(Obama)off our hands he is going irresponible again

  10. Now I am no fan of the current American policies in the Middle East with the Iran deal being the latest faux pas but really, some of you guys have gone over the deep end with some of the spurious statements about OB.

  11. Does anyone know where Canada stands here?.. Are we going to get sucked into bombing Kurds?.. If we do I am going to be severely pissed at our government.

  12. Some examples for you Peterj. The comments are junk opinions.
    1. Obama should be charged with war crimes2.
    2. wishes to do as much harm to the Middle East as he possibly can.
    3. Remember the accounts of his enjoyment of approving his drone hits(what’s wrong with that? Dead terroists are good)
    4. He’s done a great job of bringing the world’s only super power to its knees

  13. No, we would not bomb Kurds. Unless it’s guaranteed ISIS our teeny weeny contribution to the air campaign would remain grounded. Now that Turkey has entered the fray with a entirely different agenda, I would not be surprised if we withdrew altogether.

  14. Agree with you on 1 and 3. Change 2 to Israel and it would be right on the money. I can’t find fault with # 4. See my comment on Hopey Changey @ 5:26. The most destructive POTUS in American history.

  15. I could only hope you are right. But I am less than happy by the Libya fiasco, but that is all hindsight.Who knows who was behind that and why. Will we ever know?
