          When I was a colt in high school I played in a band and we’d play ‘dance jobs’. Sometimes we were out of town and by the time the gig was over and we finished chasin’ girls we would stop at a truck stop and eat. It was one of those all niters that had a juke box. Our guitar player loved HT and 6 Pack was on the box. Home by daylight….sometimes.

          Hank used a steel player Curley Chalker. He’s long gone now but he really blazed a trail on steel. Curley was famous for his playing but he was also noted for his bad temper. You may not think that musicians have a bad disposition but some do. Ginger Baker was one and Little Walter Horton (blues harp – Muddy Waters) was killed in a bar fight. Little Walter was a nasty.

            That was a nice memory you had. What did you all eat?
            I remember my friends calling those 2 am snacks, “lunches”. One time we ordered pizza and when the waiter bought it over to the table he dropped it and it landed on the rug upside down, “SPLAT!” Needless to say, it was a long night, we had to wait for another one to be cooked!

            What a guy! Think he liked country music. It was shocking for me to move from a large City to a small rural place. Country guys were hilarious!

      1. The 9th circus is a joke. They are the most overturned circuit in the US with a very bad track record for Supreme Court reviews. If they did their job properly in the first place there would be no reason for the appeal and the costs would be much lower, but doing their job properly would interfere with their ideology. In essence, they are hoping to financially grind anyone who opposes their politics.

The communists on that court are never going to rule with honesty, and as the supreme court becomes more infested with the communist cancer rulings will be come less and less constitutional. Courts do not exist to write law yet that is what we have allowed them to do. Canada is even worse.

And if Scheer is actually brazen enough to claim that, it will surely be pointed-out that the previous Party leader (who will remain nameless) took the Conservatives to a Majority government. “Winning isn’t everything – it’s the only thing”; or maybe, “Success has many fathers; failure is an orphan.”

      And as to whether Scheer stays-on, the card-carrying members of the Conservative Party will decide that, come the next leadership review; and I wouldn’t like to bet on his chances.

    1. Thank you for the post. One would want to think CBC management would see Ms. Simpson as the embarrassment that she is, but they don’t. The even gets to be promoted to substitute- host this politics show, but she comes across as so ham-fisted in her bias, it becomes an unintentional joke.

      A case in point. During the suborning of justice scandal, with JWR last spring, Mr. Simpson kept on boasting of receiving exclusive information from the Liberal government. She would preface any of this by saying “I have learned from my sources…”, over and over again ad nauseum. She was too thick headed to realize that she was essentially a mouthpiece for Gerald Butts’s PMO, all during the scandal.       At what time will the $ cost of these failed projects be accounted for? As you accurately pointed out the cancelled LNG projects in BC amounts to 100’s of billions. The cost to the BC and Canadian public has to have a $ figure placed on it. During the past two federal election campaigns I challenged candidates to do just that, particularly, the Greens. What public good was deferred or most likely lost? The Canadian energy industry surely dropped the ball by failing to point out that Canada could have reduced carbon output by replacing coal consumption in foreign markets. The environmental movement to stop Alberta export of energy is uniquely Canadian compared to all other international jurisdictions.

      I no longer think the West’s position in Canada will ever change. Wexit is real and has my support. The upcoming split has both cultural, political and most important economic reasons. As much as easterners will hate being exposed for the reality of their treatment of the West it has to happen. Western Canadians have to have the hard facts of what they pay to be called Canadians. My hope is that Jason Kenney starts pealing the onion and clearly explains what money goes where. What will be exposed will be ugly and the standard accusations of inflaming separation in the West will be made. While many Westerners had a visceral reaction to the last elections results they did not have all the facts to explain their unease and distrust of the federal government. Focusing solely on equalization is short sighted. The amount of money taken by the feds and used to subsidize eastern companies and institutions to the detriment of Western Canadian competitors is massive. The obvious example being the national dairy marketing board. The forced movement of the national space agency to Montreal. The billions of $’s funneled to Bombardier over 40 years in grants and loans that were later written off. The CF18 maintenance contract that was sent east when Winnipeg had the best price. The list goes on and can fill a book. It is a systemic process.

      This reality must be exposed as the Wexit movement matures towards a separation vote. That process will be initiated, crafted, written and conducted by Westerners.
