Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

well that was kinda nice… I found it to be, very english.
I actually had my expectations at about the *6-7* level, and now I’m feeling that perhaps if I’d only brought my expectations up to the level of about *2-3* that upon seeing this extravaganza I’d have experienced a level 4 excitement level, and perhaps watched it twice.
Here’s some potato guns, although you have to wait for it, they’re there. The HD connection is worth it if you’ve got the connection speed.

It’s… beautiful….
Way, way too late to be groundbreaking. We did this in the late sixties with dynamite and gallon cans of latex paint out in the middle of a frozen lake. Then we flew over and took some pictures, which were subsequently lost.
We used to shoot at paint cans and I still remember the effect of a .22 Hornet on a can of paint when I was a kid. Didn’t have the high speed photography setup back then. Of course, this being “gun free” Britain, they don’t have that much simpler way of raising the pressure inside fluid filled sealed containers from a distance.
A twelve gauge shotgun cartridge with shot removed, set off inside a gallon of paint makes an excellent paint mine. The trespasser or thief who sets it off will be easily identifiable.
How could anyone forget the ultimate painting with fireworks by Mr Bean?
