The Beards are an Australian group whose repertoire consists entirely of songs – e.g., “Got Me A Beard”, “No Beard, No Good”, “Beard Revolution”, “Shaved Off His Beard”, “Who Told You To Shave Off Your Beard?” and “Beards Don’t Kill People, People With Beards Kill People” – about beards.
Tonight they condemn the beardless in the strongest possible terms with the musical advisory If Your Dad Doesn’t Have a Beard, You’ve Got Two Mums.

  1. If you live in Britain you’d better think twice about which political party you support:

    (Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council) has refused to back down over its decision to remove three children from their foster parents because their membership of UK Independence Party meant that they supported “racist” policies.

    The husband and wife were told the authorities had “received an anonymous tip-off that they were members of UKIP.”

    Nigel Farage, the leader of UKIP, described the actions of Rotherham borough council as “a bloody outrage” and “political prejudice of the very worst kind”.

  3. Mum’s the word. Too much emphasis on “Movember” this month. How about a “MoeVember”, in commemoration of the comic genius Moe Howard (Horowitz) of The Three Stooges? It’s a wonder they don’t inaugurate a “HomoVember” to further promote the ever-popular Gay Pride movement. Personally, I’m in-favour of the facially hairless approach… Too many grey ones these days.

  7. Proof that a liberal gaffe has caused irreparable damage is when the part time lawyer/wannabe punk rocker pens a column accussing Harper of saying stupid things all the time.
    Warren must have managed to get himself out of the fetal position long enough to write it.

  9. ‘Good thing my ancestors moved from Rotherham, Yorkshire, UK in the 1800s, otherwise my kids might have been removed from my home, as I’m sure I’d belong to Nigel Farage’s UKIP if it was my misfortune to still be living in Dystopian England, 2012.

  17. I got a real kick out of the music selection. After spending the best part of twenty years as a regular and reserve soldier, i haven’t shaved since i left the army, (now more than 15 years ago).
    In the army you must shave every day. I have shaved with a hard bar of soap and a dull razer with melted snow in a tent more times than I care to count. Never again. Its a barbaric practice that I think more men are starting to quit.

  18. I took a closer look at the poll that has the Conservatives in a tight battle in Calgary Centre.
    The firm is ‘Forum Research’ and does count the CBC among its clients.
    From their site;
    ” just more than one third would vote for the Conservative candidate, former CBC talking head Joan Crockatt (35%), while 3-in-10 would support the Liberal Harvey Locke (30%). One quarter would vote for Green Party candidate Chris Turner (25%),”
    Hmmm,’former CBC talking head’,that is odd,almost as odd as the Green Party taking 25% of the vote in any riding in Calgary.
    They polled about 400 people to get their results and have a 5% margin of error.
