Israeli astrophysicist Nir Shaviv notes that the predictions of the IPCC’s First Assessment Report in 1990 are (in Jo Nova’s paraphrasing) “now tracking outside and below even their lowest bounds of estimates.”
Some predictions made by Ron Paul twenty years ago.
Some are just plain wrong (“the draft will be reinstated, causing domestic turmoil and resentment”) but others are prescient. In the latter category,
“The United States, with Tony Blair as head cheerleader, will attack Iraq without proper authority, and a major war, the largest since World War II, will result.”
“Some of our moderate Arab allies will be overthrown by Islamic fundamentalists.”
“Erosion of civil liberties here at home will continue as our government responds to political fear in dealing with the terrorist threat by making generous use of the powers obtained with the Patriot Act.”
“The Congress and the President will shift radically toward expanding the size and scope of the Federal Government. This will satisfy both the liberals and the conservatives.”
“Agitation from more class warfare will succeed in dividing us domestically, and believe it or not, I expect lobbyists will thrive more than ever during the dangerous period of chaos.”

The interesting drift of his speech is, that it is about 97.6 % applicable to the current president.
The president that Reagan run against was pale in comparison.
It is too bad that it would be inappropriate for any republican candidate to say the same thing however appropriate in relation to any so called policies of the current president.
The speech contains a well known remark where Reagan says about Carter:
Recession is when your neighbour loses his job, depression is when you lose your job, recovery is when the current president loses his job.
Total state government revenue increased to $2.0 trillion in 2010, up 79.0 percent from $1.1 trillion in 2009, resulting mainly from large increases in social insurance trust revenue, according to the latest findings from the U.S. Census Bureau…

Question: Since when does the WWW belong to the United States? I remember a time when the USA was protesting Communist noisemaking stations that prevented American shortwave broadcasts from reaching Red China and the USSR. What`s different with the legislation that USA is proposing for the web?

“What Causes El Niño / La Niña? IPCC Doesn’t Know, But Builds Models and Makes Projections Anyway”
“The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) perpetuates the deception that they examine all causes of climate change. They only examine human causes, which you can’t identify if you don’t know or understand natural causes. They tacitly acknowledged the problem by widening the definition in the 2007 Report, but little changed.
Studying human impact excludes anything outside the terrestrial system. They cynically included the Sun in their list of human forcing mechanisms (Figure 1), but then only studied variations in insolation (electromagnetic radiation) thus excluding other solar and astronomic changes.” http://drtimball.com/2012/what-causes-el-nino-la-nina-ipcc-doesnt-know-but-builds-models-and-makes-projections-anyway/

EDB, those predictions are from 2002, so they’re not *that* impressive.
(If they were 20 years old, he’d *truly* be a genius, predicting the passage of a sweeping homeland defense act titled the “Patriot Act”, that Tony Blair would become the PM of GB in five years, and that some dude named Hamid Karzai would be the Prez of Afghanistan 10 years later.)

“NDP’s Mulcair will keep French citizenship”
“NDP leadership hopeful Thomas Mulcair holds dual Canadian and French citizenship and vows to keep both even if he should one day become Canada’s prime minister.
That would set Mulcair at odds with the man he seeks to succeed, Jack Layton. Layton, in 2006, said he thought it inappropriate that Stephane Dion hold dual French and Canadian citizenship as leader of the Liberal Party.
“I would prefer that a leader of a party hold only Canadian citizenship, because one represents many Canadians, and for me that means that it’s better to remain the citizen of one country,” Layton said in 2006.
And yet, none of Mulcair’s opponents – either from other parties or within his own party – were prepared Monday to say they agreed with Layton.” http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Politics/2012/01/16/19251781.html
