1. Who is stupider, them for admitting their bias so blatantly, or us for continuing to pay any attention?

2. The lifeboats were deployed from the SS Neutrality long, long ago. But it’s funny that they feel like they can start talking about it openly. More of that “it’s finally safe to take the mask off” phenomenon. I think they’ve miscalculated.

3. Any pretence at neutrality was cast aside when they began parroting the “science is settled” line.
That was an “all in” bluff coming down solidly on the AGW junk science side.

4. Use of the fait accompli is a favored tactic of the Left. It took me a long time to come to this realization, but it’s like one of those proverbial light bulbs going off when it happens: they don’t engage in rhetoric for the purpose of dismantling your argument with facts and logic of their own. They engage in rhetoric for the purpose of shaping narratives and public assumptions. And one of the best tools is to state, with no supporting evidence, that something is no longer open to debate. After all, “experts” have decided that, they tell us. And who wants to announce their stupidity by holding a contrary opinion to what the “experts” have declared a settled issue?

5. After clicking through from Pajamas media a bit, from the conference website [co-sponsored by my bank] I come to this —
“We have to be solid, we have to be reliable, we should be able to validate all the different sources of information,” said Lanz. “It’s not about only transporting other peoples voices or opinions, it’s about investigating problems, investigating solutions and bringing this to the viewers, listeners and users – in an easy and understandable way.”
Reasonable enough, but it would be a change for those media who deal with a mathematics story by inviting a mathematician AND, for balance, someone who thinks 2+2=5.
Christopher Monckton shouldn’t wait for any calls from Deutsche Welle.

6. Simple English explanation of what they are actually saying
“We promise to tell some of the truth, some of the time, at moments when it is convenient for us to support our predetermined opinion”

7. I guess these guys didn’t hear the temperature was minus two in parts of west central Alberta early Thursday morning.
On July 1st!
I’m thinkin’ the ice is melting a bit slower in the Columbia Ice Fields about now.

8. “Abandon neutrality”? You mean they were supposed to have been neutral up until now?

9. Didn’t something like this happen in the same country in the not to distant past?
Sieg Heil

10. “James “Mountain Jim” Inhofe might be proud to make this list — he’s one of the most vocal skeptics of global warming in the country. He’s compared the environmentalist movement to
the Third Reich and has called the threat of catastrophic climate change “the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.”
I don’t know much about Senator Inhofe, but he’s dead right in that quote,”the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people”.
He can add, “or perpetrated on ALL the people of the civilized world”,as well.

11. “German journalist”? Each word is scary enough on its own but combined……………..

12. Does anybody know where Jim Prentice stands on this climate change . I can’t figure that clown out.At time I think he is with these broadcasters.

13. It is chilling to read that a major media outlet would even suggest something like this. Even though we know that most of the media have been shills for the left-liberal ideology. To publicly abandon neutrality on any major political issue is scary.
Western Canadian, that is a good point.
Rob C, you and me both and because I am not sure I have suspended donations until his stance is clearer. I think he is snowing us.

14. As the saying was in time past,”ve have vaiz to make them understand”, Goebels would be proud.

15. grok at 2:10 PM
that was my thought on this
abandon what neutrality
they can only shift farther left

16. And I read somewhere else, I believe in Mark Steyn’s latest article, that some assemblage of “experts” on a recent BBC program seriously and literally advocated that the threat posed by manmade global warming is so dire that we may need to “put democracy on hold” in order to deal with it. I don’t think these views are representative of a mere minority of warmists either.
What is happening to our civilization? And I mean that in the sense of the supra-civilization that all of us in the Western world share (to a greater or lesser extent). We have people actually advocating that we just throw away the liberties bought and paid for in blood? Maybe that’s precisely the point, that liberty is never actually bought and paid for so much as maintained through regular payments. Jefferson said the tree of liberty must, from time to time, be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots.
We’re in a very unsettled time. I have a nagging sense of dread because I feel like there are elements working feverishly to bring about conflict.
