  1. Yeah, rzr, I’m offended. Plus the ‘F*** Off’ sentiment isn’t even translated into French.
Someone call all the Human Rights Commissions and Language Police.

  2. Well, it’s very funny, but inappropriate.
The fewer kids people have these days, the less they care about vulgarity and societal norms, and the more we as a group end up a society of perpetual adolescents.
    Still, though, very funny!

  3. There aren’t a lot of 12 year old frequenting this blog. My ban on profanity has as much to do with the sensitivities of readers checking in from work computers as it does general decorum.

  4. Just a little off-topic.
I went to a David Bowie concert in Blue Bomber stadium in Winnepeg in the fall of about 1983. I got tickets to be on the field from a radio station in the Twin Cities in MN.
I met a girl who came to the concert from Saskatoon who sat on my shoulders for much of the concert. Afterward she invited me to her sisters place for an after concert party. I had to be back in St Paul to work at 9:00 am the next day or be fired, so I had to leave.
I belive her name then was Annita Stamp.
    Does anyone know of her?

  5. Is this photo from Saskatoon, Kate? The sign probably plays quite well, being in Rider country.
Posted on Canada’s (if not the World’s) best website, probably not so much.
Actually, is this photo from ’07? Radio Shack has been gone from Canada for some time now.
To speak to the title of the post — Go Riders!

I know someone by a similar name.
Are you willing to pay retroactive child support?

  7. There is no big boy in Saskatoon BJG, this is on the road to Calgary or in Calgary. That is why McMahon will be on our side on Sunday.
    Believe in the green.

    Dad?
    Anyways…
    Go Riders Go!
The sign is in very poor taste. The spirit of the sport is taking a hit here, not cool.

  9. This picture could have been taken anywhere. If there is any football team that could be considered “Canada’s Team”, it’s the Riders. Go to any football game in Canada and lots of fans will be in the stands wearing the green and white, no matter what teams happen to be playing. And when the Riders come to Calgary or Edmonton, it’s hard to tell that it isn’t a home game for them.

Remember, I had to work the next morning 500 miles away. I’m just curious,… not your father.
    Tiny little thing, she was.

  11. The owner of that photo shopped sign is looking for a free ticket to the game. But I do like the message and I am not even a foot ball fan.

Sorry, that excuse is not good enough.
I had to change my name from Annita Stamp because everyone kept calling me ” I need a tramp “.
    Never mind, you are forgiven.

  13. I’ll be cheering for the Roughriders,as I have since the days of Lancaster/Reed,BUT, I think this time it’s Montreal’s turn to win,Calvillo is consistent,Durant, not so much.

There is/was a Big Boy directly across Crowchild Trail N.W. from the east parking lot of McMahon Stadium in Calgary.

  15. Kate – my comment at 1134 – this pic is of course appropriate for a blog, but I meant that it was not great for public display – when you’re teaching your kids not to swear etc, this kind of stuff makes it harder thx

  16. The little bird (alouette) flattened the lion, and next will run roughshod over the pansy potash farmers. Our Big Boys will Drive Thru your lines, make a tossed salad of your team. Your only home is for Tommy Douglas to come back to life, and redistribute the score evenly between the teams.

    maybe 10 years ago.
I dont think there are radio shacks or Big Boys anywhere anymore any how.

Funny, The only reason I even remember the name was I always thought it sounded like “I need a stamp”
Thanks for the forgivness, I’ll put it in the bank.

  20. Cal2,
The JB’s Big Boy across the street hasn’t been there for a LONG time. It is where Nicks is now, Nick being the dad of former Stamp Tim Petros.
Though neither exist, I agree with the sentiment on the sign. My wife, while born here, orginates from Kamsack & Yorkton.
This is one Stamps fan, who says GO RIDERS

  21. I realize it is ‘inappropriate’, but it sure made me laugh! We all all need to do that.
    Go RIDERS Go!

  22. Rich, if you want a provincial anthem, with a football/Riders theme, check out the song “Flat Out” by Wide Mouth Mason, an excellent band from Saskatoon. I think it’s a football player saying the opening line “Hut one hut two HUT!”

  23. Welcome to Alberta all of you Saskatchewan Roughrider fans. Bring your money and your tooth brush, because when you are out on the town we want you to brush your tooth first…
Ok that was uncalled for. But still despite the fact the Roughriders have ruined the Stamps chance to win the cup at home, all the best to them and their insane fans.

  24. Big C
Thanks for the suggestion….I’ll see if I can find it…right after I clean up the small coffee “problem” that occurred on reading Kate’s Safeway alert!

  25. Rob: “..because when you are out on the town we want you to brush your tooth first…”

    What teeth?

  26. “My ban on profanity has as much to do with the sensitivities of readers checking in from work computers as it does general decorum.”
Bless you Kate, and not just for recognizing that the internet, and the world, is sadly lacking in decorum.
    Keep up the good work.

  27. “The JB’s Big Boy across the street hasn’t been there for a LONG time. It is where Nicks is now”
Good Lord!! I use to take my then girl friend (now wife for 30 years) to Nick’s while we were dating.
    Man do I feel old.
BTW, I think that the Jolly Green are one year away, and the Als see the door closing on themselves.
Als to win this year, Sask will dominate next year, and the Stamps will be lucky to be in third next year.
I will be in the stands cheering every good play as my Stamps aren’t there this year.

  28. Nicks burnt down and was rebuilt 20 years ago. I think the Bigboy was back a bit further, where the texas BBQ is.
we stole the Big Boy back I hate to say this , 1973
none the less, the sign isnt in calgary.

  29. I liked it!! … Good laugh!
    I am a Rider Fan.
But, .. When one takes a moment to think about this sign, .. ” it definitely is inappropriate, especially when we should be welcoming Monteal Fans to our Western Home.

  30. I don’t feel like looking for the link but in one of the Rider fan pages on Facebook someone posted a link to a sign generator. You can pick McD’s or a number of other fast food restaurants.
The thing that makes it so funny is that in Saskatchewan, a restaurant could actually put that on a sign this week and not lose any business because of it.
    Go Riders!!
