Following a four-month investigation, the Regina Police Service (RPS) has charged 44-year-old Biniam Emaha with dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death.
He made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Tuesday and was released from police custody under several conditions, including not being allow to drive a vehicle.
Other conditions include not contacting the victim’s family, reporting to a probation officer, appearing in court when requested and not applying for a passport or other travel documents.
Emaha was granted a translator during his court appearance due to a language barrier.
He doesn’t understand English and he got a driver’s license? A commercial driver’s license???

I don’t know what the charge is if someone, say a distant family member, hunts down and “attacks” a man who’s been given a minimum sentence for this sort of thing but knowing Regina, SK (the city which rhymes with “fun”), retribution is always on the table… this includes your cousin who has no idea “why is this all happening to me I never did anything at all?” etc…

Not to defend much of this but Dewdney and Elphinstone is a few blocks from the worst area of Regina (the city which rhymes with “fun”) so if there is a concentration of new to Canada types it’ll be not too far from there even while it’s in the opposite sector of the city’s super diverse university which just last year had their student union pub closed down, the 87th best university in Canada, the University of Regina (the university which rhymes with “fun”) and home of Canada’s First Nations University as well..

I recall running through that area in my teens just doing my best to not get beat up by the locals (a few times).
There’s a laundry mart across the street, across the avenue was the KFC in the hood, don’t go there… and south a 1/2 block is the daycare my kids went to for a few years almost 30 years ago, the kids were safe there, giant wall around it, and the 18 months to 6 years old kids don’t have any money, so they’re safe.
