    l somewhat recollect that story. the folks he rescued were furious that the man was reprimanded apparently he wasnt one of the ‘official’ rescuers.
    POWAH and the weilding of POWAH truly vastly more impordand than saving lives.

    1. I believe that. Canadian officials are very jealous of power, and the limelight. One marked distance between Canada and the US is that Canadians will tolerate that kind of petty tyranny, while Americans would speak up and make it an issue. This kind of bullshit has been tried on by FEMA officials who try to frustrate volunteers during hurricane responses, but they are either ignored, bypassed, or shamed into retreating.

      Canada Projects of Significance AKA “Nation Building Projects” : Definition: Liberal projects that move at a snails pace, and are slimy due to the shell games played by invertebrates and their useful slugs.
      By the way, Carney did not specify which nation he plans to build stuff in.

  4. Maybe those contractors that recued people by helicopter need to bill the federal government for those rescues. There were other TMX contractors who used their earthmoving equipment to quickly resolve issues arising from the flooding along the Coquihalla highway; those should be billed to the BC government.

    I’d bet that there are dozens of examples like that, things that would not have been done if the TMX contractors weren’t nearby.
