  1. That’s probably the least destructive thing San Fran is doing….

And they aren’t only drinking the limited amount of Vodka they are given by nurses, but that should be obvious to all involved.

    1. the call to (quote) “curb excess drinking” methinks was misheard, misinterpreted, or etc by a decision maker as “do your excess drinking at the curb”

    2. Good grief. It/they just keep getting dumber. I accuse people of gross stupidity regularly and now maybe people can see why.

  2. Weather permitting.. The homeless are like a foreign army camping in your city.. They will leave when they have pried the last scrap of gold off your temples.. Eaten the last piece of food.. Our weak feckless leaders are useless against such an ancient threat.. You have two choices, pay them off or run them off..

The only thing Canada has going for it is, we have real winters that no amount of gold is worth suffering..

    1. “You have two choices, pay them off or run them off”. The very same can be said for your Government. And the Government is probably more dangerous.

  3. Great idea. Just put them on a diet of bud light. They’ll never be able to get pissed and they’ll demand the right to use washrooms instead of dumping on the streets. Ladies washrooms, of course.

  4. I used to think of homeless people as canaries in the coal mine.
Because we must still be somewhat free under the overlordship of Big Government if these fckers are still tramping.
Now they’re an indicator of liberal nihilism, stupidity and relative morality.
And Big Government will make you one of them if you don’t toe the line.

  5. Bread, vodka, and the circus of smash and grabs.

Hint: there is no longer any reason to go to San Francisco. Trust me … more and more businesses will close. Restaurants will close. Office space will empty-out and the vacancy rate will soar past its current 40%. Leftist philosophy has utterly destroyed the vibrancy of the city.

Turns out the people that San Franciscans HATED … Corporations, well-paid executives, and suburbanites … actually created the health of the city. They’ve all been replaced with the unwell. And it’s it’s over. It’s done.

    1. kenji, I hope you can escape Californicate. San Fran, as you describe it, sounds like Toronto, done for the same essential reasons. Playbook at work, everywhere,

  6. You think you know how stupid politicians are and then you read something like this.

    1. Let’s have a betting pool.
      a) How long until the first one is robbed?
      b) How long until the first one closes?

      1. What’s the over/under on the actual number of paying customers who show up? I believe it would be fair to set the number at about 105. So I’m going with the Under.

  7. I’m sure there was research conducted, sponsored by the liquor industry, peer reviewed & published.

  8. Huh? I thought the street bums were traditionally called “winos” ? So why doesn’t the city buy them some wine? It would help the failing wine industry … since no one is drinking wine anymore …

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnmariani/2023/09/08/why-the-world-has-a-huge-wine-glut-and-why-its-only-going-to-get-worse/?sh=6749b591771d

And why aren’t we drinking wine anymore? Well … a decent bottle of wine costs $50 … so there’s that. And ever since the government made us all paranoid about our health … all booze drinking has cratered. Way to go FAKE pandemic peddlers! People in the SF Bay Area won’t drink wine … and they won’t ride BART with all the unwashed masses.

    1. Say, Kenji. You might want to cross-post that link over on tips.

It’s a great article and there is much to discuss about the facts presented. One interesting aspect is that a person’s age has a lot to do with how they perceive and approach consuming wine, spirits, beer and whatnot. And that changes over time

There are a lot of first-person tales to be told relating to that Forbes article, and they’d have nothing to do with the political cupidity and stupidity that is the topic of this thread.

That was a very good find.

  9. Newsom’s endless Happy Hour.

They will all be registered voters by November.
