  1. It’s been quite a while since I last saw Broken Arrow (James Stewart and Jeff Chandler). It was perhaps the first of a number of influential westerns that Stewart was in, which include Winchester ’73 (made the same year as BA) and The Naked Spur.

Stewart, as expected, gave a solid performance.

    1. BA, I want to apologize for snapping at you this morning. I was out of line. No excuses.

      1. Fugeddaboudit.

Sometimes my cinematic selections don’t seem to fit in with the conversation. Last time, the movie was The Sting and then I start blathering about a WW II flick……

Meanwhile, I’m watching this on TCM right now:

If you don’t want to watch it on YT, you can catch it in the second showing of TCM’s Noir Alley about 9 hours from now.

And, yes, Broken Arrow is worth watching.

        1. Next week’s Noir Alley offering is Scarlet Street (Edward G. Robinson and Dan Duryea, directed by Fritz Lang). It has an interesting twist plot.

This one is on YouTube and I recall that it was our good friend Nancy Ross who tipped me off to this gem. (Many thanks, NR!)

          1. My pleasure. I forgot about that. I keep looking for that Ozzie flick you once featured– a great comedy… sending you “messy beer cups”, oui, as in merci b/c… that’s the one! Loved it!

I meant to play this following one sooner, another hidden gem, imo.:

This quirky movie from 1936 features a young Cary Grant as a bored millionaire who wagers his doctor that he can support himself at a working class job for a year without touching his inheritance. It’s actually a pretty good flick– hardly mushy. Grant’s performance was one of his best. Enjoy.

          2. BA, Thank you for your movie analysis and suggestions. I always enjoy reading them.

          3. NR:

Thanks. That’ll go on my round tuit list. I’ve got another trip to B. C. coming up (hauling stuff back to Edmonton now), so I’ll take a look in a few days time.

          4. Nancy:

I think the title of the Aussie movie is Reckless Kelly, starring Yahoo Serious, who was in Young Einstein.

    2. “Stewart, as expected, gave a solid performance.”
I love the scene where Stewart meets Cochise for the first time, at 23 minutes in.

  2. The Bong was on an apology tour today. This time to black soldiers who served for Canada in WW1.

He’s a master at apology for things he had absolutely nothing to do with. He cannot find it within himself to apologize for anything he has done tho.

    Character – he has none.

  3. The recent rise of covid in Blackie’s corrupt MSM is directly proportionate to the lower Ukraine/Russia reporting.
    Just in time for fall.

    1. Who’d want to watch a fictional series on TV when we’ve got the sexual antics of Hunter Biden and Prinz Dummkopf for real and for free?

      1. BA

On a side Note, I too look at your Movie reviews…!!

And travelling by truck to FSJ cannot be cheap…although I do see our fuel price is,dropping….Costco East Cal was 1.729, this past Wed…

        Drive safe BA..!!

        1. Thanks.

As for the cost of diesel fuel, I’ll be finding out later this morning. It’s a good thing that those long road trips will be coming to an end later this year.

        2. Diesel was $1.70 in Edmonton this morning and, a few hours later, I paid $2.00 in Grande Prairie, similar to what I saw in places like Whitecourt. I suspect the latter price might be old inventory.

      2. I have a put a curse on Trudeau and Singh. I am waiting for the day when they are both found in black leather S/M gear, performing auto-erotica.

  4. Seems like they’re admitting Global Warming IS caused by the sun.

“The idea revolves heavily around the creation and deployment of several thin film-like silicon bubbles. The “space bubbles” as they refer to them, would be joined together like a raft. Once expanded in space it would be around the same size as Brazil. The bubbles would then provide an extra buffer against the harmful solar radiation that comes from the Sun.”

As you can tell, its a silly article.

    1. Let them enjoy their personal Climate Change….a country that has trashed their own Nuclear plants…for Gaia…or fear of a Japanese caused Tsunami or or something.

This supposed crisis is wholly of their own making.

    1. The cover stories mount. Seems like everything in the known universe can give you heart attacks, except, of course… Amazing that people STILL REFUSE to connect the dots even though it’s all right in front of their faces. Instead, they choose to look in another direction. It’s as if at an instinctive level, they know deep down that what we’ve been trying to tell them is all true, but they don’t want to acknowledge that they were duped.
I particularly liked the sequence where one article says that hot weather can be a cause, and the very next slide blames cold weather.
They must think we’re really that stupid, well, if you’re dumb enough to fall for the fake fear, you’re liable to believe anything, and the majority lapped it all up, so I guess collectively speaking, society really is that stupid.

      1. The Juiced are like ostriches, sticking their collective heads in the sand, wishing & hoping it is just a bad dream and it will all go away.
If they only wish hard enough….

  5. I don’t know who Gracy May is (a born and still-is female black actress) but she had this to say regarding trans-people…

“to change your parts does not make you a woman. I know that for a fact”.

After some serious backlash (after all I think she still wants a career in Hollywood) she had this to say…

“I’ve learned so much and being a woman is a vibe”.

    and…

“Education is about conversation and us getting to a point where we understand each other…. I’ve learned a lot through this. I think that was one of the reasons that it might have happened. It was just a huge learning experience for me…. You are whoever you believe you are and no one can dictate that for you or take that away from you.”

“No one can dictate that for you”? Sounds like she got dictated.
