  1. Tim Barnhardt is a constable, with what looks like 14 years of experience. Why was his name leaked?

are there higher ranked officers involved?

“Sources say some of the allegations include connections to the waring tow-truck factions, names and addresses being shared by police, officers allegedly leaking information to hit men and the conspiracy to commit a home invasion and potential murder on a senior manager at the Toronto South jail.”

Getting the Biker Gangs out of the tow truck game certainly has improved things.

  2. In 2002, a lawyer friend of mine told me Toronto was run by the gangs, and the biggest gang was the Metro Toronto PD.

When you have entire departments being arrested or disbanded every five years for corruption, abuse of power, or worse, there’s a systemic problem.

  4. way back in my 20s, there wwere stories about notorious ’21 division’ downtown.
nothing new here. funny story, around the same time my chirese ex told of a story in hong kong.
the head of the anti-corruption division was arrested for . . . . . corruption.

  5. Something like 20 years ago Vancouver recruited some police from Hong Kong. They all were pretty much corrupt. Years ago the mainstay of Alberta police were immigrant English cops. I suspect not a single one was corrupt.
