    Seriously. Their advice is that you should police yourself by limiting your own freedoms. Tell me this isn’t some bureaucrat’s backdoor clever scheme to limit free speech.

  5. Seems to be a concerted effort while Musk muses about his $141M fine imposed by the Euroweenies. And always with the annoying and Orwellian “Yah, vee half free speech here but vee also half rules…”. Which is the kind of logic you’d expect from someone who blows over 1.6 on the breathalyzer.
    Cernovich scolded Vance to forget about Venezuela and liberate Europe – To which I say that at least from a logistical standpoint we’d be far easier.

    1. We all believed that when the Berlin Wall fell … that East Germans would finally be released from their draconian thought-prison and join the West’s good life which includes pride in their culture and freedom to live as they choose.

      Instead, East Germany exported Angela Merkel and their police state repression.         By the way Kenji, as you are a “vinyl” guy, you may enjoy a book series called “The Vinyl Detective” by Andrew Cartmel. There are 4 books so far, and must be read in order. Campy and well written with lots of stuff that appeals to vinyl heads. Cracking good mysteries.

        The utopian musings of young idealists, and their gullible minions who couldn’t find their asses with both hands, and a map. Those minions ran with borrowed ideals they misinterpreted, or never understood in the first place, and entered law, politics, and positions of power in the bureaucratic machine with the intent to impose these ideals on others and transform a nation in their image, but then they ‘grew up’, and become the cynical power-hungry autocrats we see today. They were always authoritarian, make no mistake, but communism ‘socialism’ was a way of labeling it that would sit well enough with their self-perceptions, and the sensibilities of their gullible minions. Sound familiar? I’m told there’s nothing new under the sun..

        1. Everything you said is true … except … Never in the summer of our youthful enthusiasm and free love were those ideals sold as the musings of a totalitarian State. We were yearning for freedom FROM the authoritarian State.

          But as we wise ones know … that if you hate the billionaire elitists of Western Capitalism … your communist dream will simply replace those billionaire elites with a whole new set of Politbureau billionaire elites who will do REAL harm to you.

          Yeah, there were totalitarians in our midst … and sadly that ended up being the vast majority of my generation. Sad. Sadly misguided.

            Fair enough, but there’s a reason why “World’s 2nd best dad” coffee mugs would sit on a shelf collecting dust.. Marketing and perception and paramount to selling an ideal. Hell, I have a hard enough time explaining to my customers the difference between ‘what they want’ vs. ‘what they are actually asking for’ on any given day.. First off, donning a frock does not make you clergy, and.. scratch an ‘idealist’, find an authoritarian.. almost every time. To clarify, not minions all start out as dyed in the wool authoritarians, but the traits emerge stronger with age and frustration. The difference between various idealists (dope smoking hippy vs. marxist agitator) is drive and ambition.. how hard they will push, and how far they are willing to take their ideals. Not all of them are willing to break my eggs to make their omelette, thank God, or make the leap from ‘free’ mass-transit, and mass-housing to ‘free’ mass-starvation and mass-graves. They lack the mental fortitude and stomach for it, and the throngs of dedicated, willing minions to see it through. Fast forward to today, and everywhere from academia, legal bureaucracy, and political office, you see the handiwork of brooding authoritarian ‘summer of love’ sociopaths (who watched gen-x decline their world vision) living vicariously through gullible millennials/gen-z sorts who would have no compunctions about trampling you under RCMP horses, or marching you up to the wall..

    They can’t help themselves because most politicians these days are sick in the head and the motherfcking bureaurcrats are downright evil.
    Social credit scores, 15 minute cities, digital currencies, CCTV on every corner, frozen bank accounts, automatic tax returns, property confiscation.
    They are rulers, not servants.

    Now ,not being particularly interested in their insecurities and stupid games,my preferred interaction with such pushy idiots is not to restrain them .
