   An independent Alberta and Saskatchewan would cut crime in half within a year and half again within two years. The Crime Syndicates currently in control will hiss and resist independence, but slither across the border to their lairs in B.C., Ont. and Quebec. if faced down by an existential threat.

2. The downside of the Japanese criminal justice system is that Japan is a de facto police state.

   They brag about a 99.4 % conviction rate (after indictments…30-40 % before) but any police officer can tell you what that really means. There are a lot of gangsters in jail for crimes that they did not actually commit.

   The ‘no bail’ system is interesting, as are the austere prison conditions.

   1. You are absolutely correct. If they want you in jail, you are going to lose your case. The Judges understand this and perform accordingly. I cannot stress strongly enough, that if you are ever planning a trip to Japan, take a long while to understand the nuances and cultural differences. For example, you can actually get jail time for littering if the offense is serious enough. Fines go as high as 10 Million Yen ($65,000 USD).

      Obviously, you should take the time to study a culture ahead of any trip. But, I put Japan in the same category as a place like Qatar (which can get a woman jailed for wearing a bikini on certain beaches).

      1. “If they want you in jail, you are going to lose your case.” Japan may be an an extreme example where this is so, but it also happens in many other countries, too many in fact.

         One example is Derek Chauvin, who was guilty the moment TPTB decided to make it so.

         Also the J6 “insurrectionists”, and so on and so forth.

   2. “Japan’s prisons are basically run like POW camps” is not an argument I expected anyone to make seriously.

      If you can’t tell that videos like this are propaganda designed to get you to accept greater state powers and reduced protections for the citizenry for the state, you deserve what comes next.

3. As indicated in the video, it creates a market place for 3rd and 4th string lawyers working as public defenders….raking in $150K + for warming a seat and doing the bidding of some equally inept liberal judge. Putting the bad guys in jail with long sentences slowly collapses this grift.
   When a criminal has 10-20-30 arrests and or convictions this is a fraction of his criminal behaviour….usually estimated to be 20 to 30 times the number of police contacts.
   Good work if you can get it.
