4. This is confusing. Even in the UK, the police require a warrant to secure private property. There are exceptions such as the owner’s consent, emergency situation, delay in securing a warrant would allow destruction of the item. HOWEVER, attempting to secure a minor’s phone would require a criminal warrant.

   So, that brings up two scenarios. 1. An informed parent aware of their rights would simply say “No. Go away.”

   Or, 2. A Judge signed off on this warrant, and that Judge’s name should be plastered all over this Twitter post for the deserved ridicule, and future focus should be on the politicians sitting on the Judicial Appointments Commission (specifically, their next election). The way the system is set up, the police officers wrap themselves in “I’m doing what I’m told” blanket. The Judges and politicians are removed from the scenario through anonymity as a non-focus of the event. If there are to be repercussions, then those adverse to this Police State mentality need to start doing their homework so the proper people feel the heat.
