    1. Yes, but Milei main moves were to eliminate government departments, reduce the government workforce and cut government spending.

    2. Can you imagine what our growth would be if we just annihilated 80% of government like Milei? Government is a drag on the economy, period. Beyond a tiny one required for defense, justice annnd….I’m searching here. Help me out, I mean government required, not desired.

    The CBC wants to know if Milei is even aware that it is “Pride Month”?

  7. My guess is that Trump will use the Milei success to sell some cost cutting in thr U.S. bureaucracy. That may rub off on Canada.

      I’ve been busy, so haven’t been following much news or X feeds, but surely DOGE must have found some defence spending waste by now?

      Any news on this front?

      1. DOGE is currently digging into contractual agreements with defense contractors (at least the non-confidential ones). This is at the invitation of Sec. Hegseth. They’ve already outlined quite a few “creative” payment structures. You’re not going to see a whole lot of press on what’s being accomplished at the Pentagon for a multitude of reasons.

        But, to answer your question, DOGE is going to town on the defense “industry” and reporting directly to the Sec. of Defense as well as the White House.
