1. Good timing. I just came across this recently. I don’t trust WP or the CDC even a little bit, but I think the drop since 2021 is simply because major cities just stopped reporting the data. But the increase in police killings is real and probably worse than this chart shows.

3. I see a possible statistical issue here. Why would homicide “rates” go down, their “percentage change,” if police were disengaged, defunded and disrespected, pushing their “rates” up, or is this evidence of a stealth policing buildup by the big city woke left, or just unreported?

   ‘police killings’. l think we all agree 2 ways to interpret:
   killing *by* police or
   killings *of* police
   either one is acceptable; judging by hundreds if not 1000s YT clips the rule is NEVER call the cops on a distressed loved one.
   the cops answer is the SHOOT THEM. so again either interpretation cd apply.
   whether *that* is a good thing hinges on ones experience and observations regarding cops.

6. Maybe homicides declined BECAUSE cops killed murderers who therefore couldn’t murder again.

   1. Homicides increased because Democrats, Media, and Leftists (basically the same) riled up the diverse urban population. This results in increased antisocial behavior. This causes increases in violent crime, including homicide. It also results in more police interactions where violent and impulsive criminal types get shot.

7. What are the numbers, not the percentages?

   1. You’re not allowed to know the numbers, Don. That’s because if you knew them, you’d know the #NYSlimes is lying.

      But what’s even more interesting, apart from the actual numbers of civilian murders vs. police shootings, is -who- is being murdered/shot and -where- all this is happening. The #NYSlimes really, super-duper does not want you to know that. Because if you knew that, then a much bigger can of worms would be kicked over.
